Thank You Congratulations on purchasing The Nevco StatCrew Interface. Since 1934 we have been serving sports venues around the world. We appreciate your business and are always glad to hear comments and suggestions from our customers don t hesitate to call or email us at any time! The StatCrew Interface connects compatible NEVCO scoreboards to computers using StatCrew software. It allows selected information to be posted to the scoreboard. Serial Communications setup examples are provided as a starting point. Please contact your software provider for specific details. Figures 1 and 2 below show the parts and connections for the StatCrew Interface. Diagram 2 Diagram 2 shows the scoreboard being used to display data from a Statcrew PC or operated normally with a NEVCO MPC Control. They are communicating wirelessly by means of a StatCrew Wireless Interface. Wireless For wireless communication between the PC and the scoreboard, (diagram 2) the StatCrew Wireless system can be used. The wireless devices are married together at the factory so they will communicate exclusively with each other. The StatCrew Wireless Interface has the same connections and uses the same power supply as the StatCrew Wired Interface. (Refer to Figures 1 and 2). Inputs and outputs on the StatCrew Interface are dynamic and auto-sensing on a first-come first-serve basis. Please be sure to disconnect the computer input prior to using the MPC Coax input, and vice-versa. 135-0226 Page 2 10/21/2016

NOTE: The Statcrew Wireless signal is NOT compatible with the MPCW-5 Receiver, the MPCW-6 Receiver, or the MPCHA Receiver. Writing Data to a Wired Scoreboard (StatCrew Wired Interface) Coax RS 232 StatCrew Wired Interface Wall Jack NEVCO SCOREBOARD StatCrew PC NOTE: Consult the scoreboard installation manual for proper coax hookup. Diagram 1 Diagram 1 shows the scoreboard being used to display data from a Statcrew PC. (Connect the Statcrew PC Interface to the wall jack). Configuration of StatCrew Software The stat crew software will need to be configured to output the required xml document. These settings will be located in the main StatCrew program. To allow the on-court players' stats to be displayed on the scoreboard, set the following options in the DOS scoring program: 1) Remote Display Terminal Type -- set to Scoreboard. 2) Options Full subs -- enter Y to enable full substitutions entry. 135-0226 Page 3 10/21/2016

While scoring the match make sure to manage substitutions using: 1) Game control Subs -- enter uniform numbers for players coming in and going out 2) Game control On court -- reset players on court (if needed). Theses settings can be found in the game reports section of the program. Perform the steps on the following pages to direct the statcrew output file so that the nevco software can read it. The location is recommended to not be the program directory C:\STATCREW due to file conflicts and as such will be rejected by the Nevco stat panel software. No directory name and the file name should be longer 8 characters. Enter the xml file name keeping in mind it needs to be fewer than 8 characters. 135-0226 Page 4 10/21/2016

In the Stat Crew software group, select Game Reports Program opens and displays where you store your game data. 135-0226 Page 1 10/21/2016

Click Games List and select your game. Click OK. 135-0226 Page 2 10/21/2016

Select Live from the menu. A new window will open. 135-0226 Page 3 10/21/2016

Set these parameters in the Live Stats settings window as you see below. Your xml gameid and storage directory are names created by the customer. Be sure the target directory exists on your local hard drive. Click OK. 8 alphanumeric characters or less Previously selected Game ID name And your target directory 135-0226 Page 4 10/21/2016

Nevco StatCrew StatPanel Controller (our magic decoder) Double-click this icon to display Stat Panel Controller window. Change the file used to supply data to the Stat Panel. Change the destination of the complimentary copy of the StatCrew XML for use by other software packages. Change the serial port used for sending / receiving live data. Toggle the brightness of the display between bright and dim. Change the time-outs-left. This file can also be located on another computer. Networking issues are NOT the responsibility of the Nevco service department. We want to help, but there is only so much you can do over the phone without the support of the school s IT department. If you cannot change the brightness or add timeouts, please follow the steps on the next page to determine which COM port you should use. 135-0226 Page 5 10/21/2016

Familiarize yourself with Windows Device Manager. And here too is a HOME FREE feature just to make it easy: Click the Start Orb. Select Control Panel. (You may need to adjust your VIEW options.) Then, select Device Manager. You should see below, I have TWO com ports installed. 135-0226 Page 6 10/21/2016

Changing Time Outs Left (T.O.L.) The StatCrew software does not track TOL or give an interface to the user to change TOL, but the larger Nevco stat panels have the TOL feature included on them. In order to set and change the TOL on the stat panels, the user must interface using the Nevco software as seen in page 5. Using the XML file for other programs If you need to use StatCrew data for third-party applications, you ll want to use the StatCrew StatPanel software to copy the StatCrew file to a separate folder. This ensures that there are no conflicts between StatCrew software and other third-party software. To use the StatCrew StatPanel software to create a file for third-party software, follow these steps: 1. Open the StatCrew StatPanel Controller software. 2. Change the Input Path to the XML file generated by the StatCrew software. 3. Change the Output Path to the folder where you would like the third-party software to look for the file. This folder cannot be the StatCrew folder or the same folder as the Input Path. 4. Set your third-party software to look for the file generated in the output path. The file will have the same name as the file in the Input Path. 135-0226 Page 7 10/21/2016
