Welcome to MHCC s Student Email system, known as Saints Email! These instructions will guide you through the following steps: 1. Finding out what your Saints Email address is 2. Logging into your Saints Email account 3. Setting up self-service password reset 4. Adding your Saints Email address to the Message Center in MyMHCC 1. What is your Saints Email address? MHCC now has email addresses for students. To find out what your email address is, you will need to visit the MHCC Portal at http://my.mhcc.edu and follow the following instructions. Once you know your email address, you will need to return to this document and follow some additional instructions to complete the email setup process. Let s start with how to find your email address on the MHCC Portal. Step 1) Open your choice of browsers and go to the MHCC home page http://www.mhcc.edu Step 2) In the upper right hand corner of the MHCC home page there is a link to My MHCC. Click on that link. Step 3) Log into the MHCC Portal. If you have not logged in before your login Username is your student ID number and your password is your 6 digit birth date. I.e (MMDDYY)
Step 4) Once logged in, click on the Personal Info link just to the right of your name at the top of the page. Step 5) On the next screen, click on the Biographical Info tab. Step 6) Step 7) Scroll down to the section titled Other Addresses. Here you will find your MHCC email address. It will look something like this a.student1@saints.mhcc.edu. Write down this email address. You will now use it to log in into your saints email. If your account was created recently, there may also be an alert on your portal home page that lists your Saints Email username and password.
2. Logging Into your Saints Email Account Step 1) Type this URL https://www.outlook.com/saints.mhcc.edu Step 2) When registering for classes, students with an email on file will receive a message from Mt Hood Community College with a temporary password. There may also be a message on MyMHCC with this information. If you didn t receive an email with your credentials or an alert on MyMHCC, one can be provided at the Student Help Desk.
Step 3) After signing in, you are required to change your initial password. You must first enter the password you used to login (one that was emailed to you or obtained at the SHD) and then you choose a new password. The password strength indicator will change as you type. The rules for setting a new password are included on the web page. Please keep track of your new password. Once you change it you re the only one who has access to it. Keep your password in a safe place. After entering your old password and creating your new one, click the save button to complete this task. Hint: Use a capital letter in your password.
Step 4) Select - Getting Started with Saints Email Language: English (United States) Time zone: (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) And click save Step 5) You are now ready to start using your MHCC saints email account. The screen below shows your Inbox. If you need additional options/settings they are located in the right hand corner right to your name.
3. Setting up self-service password reset (optional) At this point you should add a recovery option to your account in the event you forget your password. Step1) Log on to the Windows Azure website: https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/passwordreset/registe r.aspx (Use your Saints Email address and password) Step 2) Choose a recovery option and click Set it up now then follow the prompts to configure that recovery option. You now have a way to recover your Saints password should you forget it. Just use the text link below the Sign in button from: www.outlook.com/saints.mhcc.edu
4. Adding your Saints Email Address to the Message Center in MyMHCC (optional) Now you have an email address and you have completed the Office 365 setup, there is one more part of the process make your address available for use on the MHCC Portal. Complete the following steps to finish the process. Step1) Step 2) Log on to the MyMhcc portal as you did in the first section of this document. Click on the Student Services tab. Step 3) On the left hand side navigation, find the link to the Message Center and click on it.
Step 4) Move your mouse to hover over the word Manage just under the portlet title Message Center. A link to Manage E-mail Accounts will drop down. Click on that link. Step 5) In the new portlet that opens, click on the Add a New Account link. Step 6) In this portlet, start by clicking on the drop-down box to display the email source choices and then click on MyMHCC.
Step 7) Next fill the rest of the text boxes in this portlet. Make sure to use your email address as the User Name and the new password you setup earlier. When all text boxes are completed, click Add. (NOTE: when typing in your email address only use the portion before the @. For example M.Student5. DO NOT add the @saints.mhcc.edu. Once you click the Add button from the instruction above, you will be returned to a portlet that will show the newly added email address. Click the radio button in front of the address, then click Save. Step 8) To log into your Saints email account from the Portal, hover your mouse over the word Manage just above your email address. Click on Sign on to E-mail.
Step 9) This will open a new window for your web browser and take you directly to Office 365 for you to log in to your Saints email. Type in your password and click Sign In. You re all done! Your Saint s email is setup and is ready to be used. If you have problems activating your email, or you need your password reset you can contact the Student Help Desk.
