November 16, 2010 ViconNet Version 6 Offers Full Support for H.264, Web-Browser Interface and Other New Features. ViconNet6 Network Video Recording software and Operator Workstation software now provide users the freedom of choice to record H.264, MPEG4, or JPEG formatted video. The software includes a number of powerful features, including a browser based interface that enables access to live and recorded video from any PC using a standard web browser, without the need to install any special software or plug-ins. Other Key Features: Archive wizard and player A new wizard provides step-by-step guidance to easily create archives, while an embedded media player simplifies playback of archived files. Video Vault Any alarm-tagged video may be saved to a separate database where it cannot be overwritten by the system, allowing for more efficient use of long-term storage. This includes video corresponding to motion detection, video loss or other events identified by integrated access control software. Expanded 3rd Party Network Camera Support Additional features and enhancements are explained in the ViconNet 6 Technical Bulletin. A separate Technical Bulletin specifically addresses the web-based client. Information regarding upgrade options and maintenance packages will be coming soon. ViconNet 6 is now available for shipping as a software for users that want to build a solution with COTS hardware or preloaded at the factory on high-performance Hybrid DVRs and NVRs.
