Necessary items Before we begin have the following items readily available: SanDisk ultra micro SDHC, 16 gb card USB micro SD card reader Raspberry Pi 7 touchscreen Raspberry Pi 7" display case Raspberry Pi power supply Micro USB female to 2 micro USB male splitter cable Whitebox labs Tentacle T3 USB Keyboard Overview 1. Install Windows 10 iot dashboard 2. Flash micro SD card with Windows 3. Assemble hardware 4. Setup Wifi 5. Step 1 Install dashboard Download and install Windows 10 IoT Core Dashboard, which allows you to setup your Raspberry Pi from your PC. Step 2 Micro SD card Insert the mico SD card, into the USB card reader and plug the card reader into your PC. Micro SD card MUST be an UHS (Ultra High Speed) class 1, 16GB or larger. Step 3 Open dashboard Once the Windows 10 IoT Core Dashboard has been installed, open the program and select Setup a new device. * *Signing in with a Microsoft account is not required, click Skip this step. 3 Copyright Atlas Scientific LLC
Step 4 Installing windows on the SD card Device type Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 OS Build Windows 10 IoT core 17763 (or higher) Drive Your micro SD card Device Name How you will see the Pi on your network Password How you will access the Pi (remember your password) Click downlaod and install to put the IoT core software on your micro SD card. This will take ~4 min. Once your micro SD card is ready, insert it into the Raspberry pi. 4 Copyright Atlas Scientific LLC
Step 5 Assemble the hardware 1 2 3 4 Remember, EZO circuits MUST be put into I 2 C mode before they will work on a Raspberry Pi. Step 6 Boot up Yes, this might happen. Don't worry. we will correct it in the next few steps. 5 Copyright Atlas Scientific LLC
Step 7 WiFi Once Windows 10 has finished booting up you will be asked to adjust a few settings. This is why you needed that USB keyboard. Username: administrator password: password you created in step 4 After logging in, Windows will then ask you to connect to a WiFi network. Do not skip this step. After Windows has finished being setup, you will be brought to the IoT Core Default Application page. 6 Copyright Atlas Scientific LLC
Step 8 Prepare for install Now that Windows 10 is installed on your Raspberry Pi, prepare to install the Atlas iot software. Under My Devices you should now see your Raspberry Pi. double click Click here and a web page will open and will ask you to log into your newly setup device. Step 9 Adjust settings You are now in the device portal (back end) of your Raspberry Pi. Under Device Settings you can make adjustments to things like display orientation, resolution and time zones. If you don't have any settings to adjust, move on to step 10. If your screen appears upside down, you can correct it from this drop down menu. If you make any changes the device must reboot before you can continue. 8 Copyright Atlas Scientific LLC
Step 10 Install Atlas iot We are finally ready to install the Atlas iot software. Download the software HERE. Once the zip file downloads, extract the files and head back to the IoT Core Device Portal. Click on Apps > Apps manager. Next, click choose file, and locate Atlas_iot.appx from the extracted zip file you just downloaded. Don t hit install, you re not done! Two more files are needed for the installation to be complete (they have to be added one at a time). Click the check box that says Allow me to select framework packages, click next and then click choose file (again), go back to your extracted zip file. Dependencies > ARM > (you will find two *.appx files in there. Select the first one. Repeat the process again and choose the second file. Now, click install. Step 11 Startup Once the installation is complete the Atlas iot software will be displayed on a list of installed apps. To begin running the software, click the startup button. Installation complete! 10 Copyright Atlas Scientific LLC
