The Center of Automation with IEC Products CENTERLINE Motor Control Center Allen-Bradley Replacements

Continually enhanced since its introduction in 1971, CENTERLINE is the leading MCC in the North American market, and the choice of major users around the world. Housing superior Allen-Bradley contactors and pilot devices, as well as automation products like AC Drives, PLC I/O chassis, and Power Monitors, today CENTERLINE Motor Control Centers might more accurately be described as Automation Control Centers. At Rockwell Automation we investigate and anticipate global industrial trends. We respond by expanding, modifying and incorporating these changes into our product offerings. The innovation that has fueled CENTERLINE growth continues with the introduction of CenterONE TM, software that simplifies and automates your task of designing MCCs. 4 THE INNOVATIVE CENTERLINE STRUCTURE Setting the Global Standards for Motor Control Centers Meets IEC 439-1 UL and ULC listed Third part certified by KEMA and ASTA CE labeling upon request Space Saving Design Standard depth 15" (381mm) No rear access required Up to 12 units per section Wider sections available for larger equipment 71" (1790mm) high section available 1 2 b a = 4.37" (111 mm) b = 6" (153 mm) c = 9.37" (238 mm) d = 15" (381 mm) e = 20" (508 mm) l f = 25" (635 mm) g = 30" (762 mm) h = 35" (889 mm) 4 9 d e b e j f h g a c k j = 40" (1016 mm) k = 71" (1790 mm) l = 90" (2286 mm) Industry Leading Safety Features Continuous horizontal and vertical bus bracing provides equal distribution of forces generated during a fault and restricts the bending of bus bars 1 Bus Bracing: 42kA Standard 65kA Optional 50kA for 1 Second Optional Manual or automatic shutters available to isolate personnel from live bus work 2 Two side sheets per section add structural integrity and help to contain faults 3 Continuous lifting angle and internal mounting angles add structural integrity 4

CENTERLINE Power Bus Horizontal power bus is located in the center of the section, not at the top, allowing for easy access of splicing and maintenance 5 Vertical bus accommodates up to 600A of plug-in loads. Optional vertical bus allows an effective 1200A capacity in a section 6 Full-rated or half-rated horizontal neutral bus is optional Vertical neutral can be supplied for control voltage connections A neutral connection plate is available for application with minimal neutral loads 7 5 1 3 8 Grounding (Earthing) Provisions Plug-in vertical ground (earth) bus provides secure positive grounding (earthing) for all plug-in units 8 Horizontal ground (earth) bus can be located in the top, bottom or top and bottom horizontal wireways. Dimensions are 1/4 x 1 (6.4mm x 25.4mm) or 1/4 x 2 (6.4mm x 50.8mm) 9 Grounding (earthing) wires can be provided on each unit door Broad Range of Enclosures 6 NEMA Type 1 NEMA Type 1G NEMA Type 12 NEMA Type 3R NEMA Type 4 IP40 IP42 IP54 IP34 IP65 1 7 Allen-Bradley Replacements

HIGH DENSITY UNITS FEATURING IEC COMPONENTS Industry Leading Safety Features Interlock prevents units from being inserted or withdrawn when the disconnect handle is in the ON position Units can be secured in a service position (partially withdrawn, power stabs disengaged) Units can be padlocked to prevent insertion Choice of Overload Protection 4 Solid-state overload relays provide widely adjustable trip settings, single phase tripping within 2 seconds, convertible manual or automatic reset and an isolated alarm contact Bimetallic overload relays provide adjustable trip setting, single phase sensitivity, convertible manual or automatic reset and an isolated alarm contact 1 Choice of Short Circuit Protection 1 Circuit breaker Fusible disconnect with type J, R, CC, H, HRCII-C, DIN or BS88 fuses Rugged Flange Mounted Disconnect Handle 2 Remains in control of disconnection means whether the door is open or closed Positive status indications: color-coded; labeled ON and OFF; International symbols I and Interlocks with the door when the handle is in the ON position Can be locked in the OFF position or in the ON position 2 3 Available Ground Fault (Earth Leakage) Protection SMP-2 TM (fixed time delay, fixed current settings) Circuit breaker (adjustable time delay, adjustable current setting) Separate ground fault (earth leakage) relay and sensor Wiring 3 Standard 600 Volt rated Optional 1000 Volt rated Termination choices Sonic Welded Wire Ring Lug Spade Lug Color coding available Top, Bottom and Sides for Unit Isolation Provides improved fault containment Supplied on units 13" (660mm) or larger 5

Proven Plug-in Design Line side power stabs 7 Fiberglass-reinforced housing provides phase-to-phase isolation, and routes power wires directly into the unit so there are no exposed wires on the back Tin-plated stabs are directly crimped to the power wires, minimizing any chance for a loose connection Stabs are free-floating, self-aligning and backed by steel spring clips which give high-pressure, multiplepoint connections on the vertical bus Over 5 million stabs in service Control and load side pull-apart terminal blocks 8 Eliminates the need to remove control wires before withdrawing units Mounts in the front of the unit, for easier wiring not in the vertical wireway IEC Contactor 6 High quality Bulletin 100 IEC contactor Up to 690 Volts 6 4 7 8 Industrial Pilot Devices 9 High quality 22.5mm Bulletin 800 pilot devices Up to 6 pilot devices in units 13" (660mm) or larger 9 5 8 Allen-Bradley Replacements

THE SMART MOTOR CONTROL CENTER Rockwell Automation has introduced the Smart MCC, featuring the industry standard DeviceNet. DeviceNet allows the user to connect and control upwards of 100 products and obtain extensive data on each load via a single cable. Products which can be connected include Smart Motor Protectors, Smart Motor Controllers, Drives, PLCs, Flex I/O TM and other devices from many different companies. The core of the Smart MCC is the SMP-3 which has the ability to look inside and monitor each motor. If the motor trips, the Smart MCC indicates the cause of the trip phase loss, jam, overload, or ground (earth) fault. The entire system allows the user to be more proactive with maintenance and to avoid shutdowns caused by an overloaded system.

FACTORY INTERWIRED MOTOR CONTROL CENTERS Rockwell Automation has been locating I/O chassis into CENTERLINE MCCs since the early 80 s. Our factory interwires thousands of MCC line-ups each and every year. Rockwell Automation has utilized this high volume to improve and simplify the quoting/purchasing process, design and develop premium documentation, and ensure the interwiring meets your specifications. The end result is significantly reduced start-up time and a lower installed cost for you, the end user. WIRING DOCUMENTATION Premium quality wiring documentation is supplied with every CENTERLINE MCC unit shipped. Wiring diagrams for quick delivery units are available even before you place the order. These drawings come in either IEC* or NEMA format and can be printed in a number of languages. Allen-Bradley * Contact your local Rockwell Automation representative for all details. Replacements

CenterONE software simplifies and automates the task of designing MCCs, replacing the school-of-hard-knocks with easy-to-use Windows. Simple Data Input MCC attributes are entered via familiar Windows pull-down menus. Complete Documentation Output CenterONE generates much of the documentation traditionally created manually, including structural and unit specifications, elevation layouts, a Request for Quotation, and 1-line drawings in AutoCAD format. Direct Link to Factory Work-ups can be uploaded to Allen-Bradley, speeding the process of obtaining pricing and entering orders. This link also eliminates errors caused by miscommunication during the traditional bidding process.
