Guidelines for Student-Athletes Using Laptop Computers 1. This program is for intercollegiate athletes only. Only students whose names are listed on the NCAA Team Rosters are eligible to participate. 2. Reservations can be made through the Academic Resource Center. Students must sign a loan agreement at the time of check-out. Laptops must be returned by noon the first weekday after competition with a fully charged battery. All work must be saved on the student s personal diskettes. Failure to comply with these rules will result in loss of loan privileges for the semester.
Laptop Loan Procedure HOW TO RESERVE A LAPTOP COMPUTER Students must reserve a computer by completing a laptop reservation form. Forms are available at the Academic Resource Center,. The form must be completed and returned to the Academic Resource Center. Due to the limited number of laptops available for team travel, it is strongly recommended that a reservation request be submitted. The Academic Resource Center will not accept reservations more than one week in advance of travel. Laptops will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES All student-athletes must present their current Student ID at the time of check-out. Laptops will be checked out from the Academic Resource Center,, between the hours of 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday. At this time, you will be required to sign a loan agreement accepting responsibility for the equipment. HOW TO CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION FOR A LAPTOP Reservations must be canceled no later than 9:00a.m. on the day of the team travel. You may call the Academic Resource Center at (610) 330-5098 or you may stop by the office at. Your failure to contact the Academic Resource Center regarding cancellation will result in automatic suspension of your laptop check-out privilege for the remainder of the semester. Notification of cancellation allows the laptop previously reserved for you to be assigned to another student-athlete who may have been placed on a wait-list. HOW TO RETURN THE LAPTOP COMPUTER Laptop computers must be returned to the Academic Resource Center, not later than 12:00p.m. the following weekday after the competition. Computers must be fully charged and ready for the next available student-athlete to utilize. Therefore, you are provided with an A/C Adapter at check-out to re-charge the battery upon your return to campus. Nothing is to be saved onto the hard drive of the laptop computers. It is your responsibility to save all material on your personal diskette. The Academic Resource Center will not be responsible for any diskettes left in the laptop once you have returned the equipment.
