ATX LED Consultants Inc 815-A Brazos #326 Austin TX, 78701 512 377 6052 http://atx-led.com AL-WS-DR2 Decorator style Dual Constant Current LED Dimmer / Driver with integrated switch 56 watt 3-Way DALI Product Description - AL-WS-DR2 wall switch This switch operates just like any standard residential light switch however it takes 24-50v DC instead of 120VAC, and directly drives up to 20 LEDs. This Decorator style switch in a standard residential style outline fits into any home, looks like any switch yet requires no licensed electrician for installation. No complicated controller is required. For 3-way operation a simple 2 wire link with AWG24 or better allows 2, 3, or an unlimited numbers of switches to control one set of LED s. Any single pole switch found at Home Depot can be used to add a 3-Way remote switch, or dual pole switch for an unlimited number of switch points. Stand alone it operates as a simple switch for 2 strings of LED s. Jumper selections for 300, 400, 600 or 700 ma LEDs with up to 28 watts per channel two channels are provided for 56 watts total. For example, 16 3 Watt LEDs can connected in series and parallel to this switch / dimmer device. Use AWG 16 or 18 to bring 48v ( or 24 to 50 volts ) from a central power supply over to the switches, then use AWG 18 to connect to your LEDs no tools are required to wire this device. A proven rocker switch and brightness slider leverages mass production of Decorator switches, now for low voltage applications any casual user requires no training, no App to use this switch. Perfect, flicker free dimming from off to 5 to 100%. No network setup is required. Temperature feedback assures excellent dimming. To enable Home / Business automation the AL-WS-DR2 includes a DALI opto isolated serial bidirectional port for remote and voice control. Use the AL-WIZ to connect to Alexa or Google home voice control. The DALI protocol is supported, with automatic addressing. Use low cost CAT-3 wire up to 1000 ft to implement remote management. Power and DALI are duplicated allowing easy installation. Specifications Power source and load Spring loaded connectors ( 2 pairs ) for AWG 16-20 wire 300 ma base current, jumper options for 380, LED constant current output 600 or 680 ma per channel Spring loaded connectors ( 2 pairs ) Input voltage range 24v to 50 volts ( power for LEDs) Standby power consumption 50 milliwatts Conversion efficiency Over 95% Protection Reverse protection and static protection Operating Temperature 0 C ~ 50 C Size 115 x 46 x 50 mm Dimming 2 to 100 %,, Current control with temperature tracking FCC and interference All outputs are RF filtered for minimal interference Maximum output voltage Input minus 4 volts Minimum output voltage 6 volts, minimum current self calibrating* Hot Swap Yes - can unplug and connect LEDs with power applied. Wiring the AL-WS-DR2 See http://atxled.com/how2 for more examples

Powering the AL-WS-DR2 Power the switch via the Power input connectors, 48 or 50v is recommended. No DALI connection is required. You can feed from the input to the output up to 2 amps. After power up once set to minimum Dim at that time you might see a flicker while it learns the capability of the attached LED. After that phase the result is stored in on-board EEprom and will be updated for temperature and aging changes or each time the power to the switch is cycled. Default Operation By default the AL-WS-DR2 operates stand alone no controller or master is required. Connect the dual LED outputs to your LED s. Combinations of 300 ma to 700 ma LED can be used. Our AL-LED-Doubler allows the number of LEDs to be doubled. See https://atxled.com/how2 for wiring suggestions. 3-Way Operation Simply connect an AWG24 ( solid CAT-3 is recommended) between the N-WAY pins and a remote standard Decorator style wall switch. If more control switches are needed use a dual pole switch in an XOR setup. No controller is required; an unlimited number of switches can control one light. 3-Way works in default or DALI modes Default DALI Operation Simple remote control the device accepts DALI broadcast commands so any DALI switch or master that sends broadcast commands can connect to this device remotely for on/off/dimming the LED outputs are controlled by the switch or DALI broadcast packets. In Default mode no DALI transmissions occur. DALI packets override the local switch setting. Full DALI Operation For full DALI operation - connect your powered DALI bus to the DA+ and DA- pins (polarity is not significant ) of the AL-WS-DR2. The device responds to the provisioning commands from a DALI master. In order for addressable functions to work, a short address [ 0 thru 63] needs to be assigned. This can be done by a DALI Master with configuration features. Once a short address is assigned the device can be understood to operate as two devices in one. 1) DALI driver the LED outputs will have a unique DALI short address after provisioning. This address is automatically assigned to a group with the short addresses included in one group. The LED outputs are connected to LED s and they can now be controlled by DALI commands from the bus. All DALI commands are supported. The actual address and group is defined and can be changed by the DALI master. 2) DALI Dimmer / Switch after provisioning the Switch in this device is placed into Group mode flipping the switch, or the 3-way remote switches, or the dimming value will cause a DALI Group command to be sent internally to the driver 0-10v output as well as externally to the DALI bus. Since the internal LED drivers are automatically loaded into the assigned group for the switch the device works as expected. You can change this behavior using a DALI-100 master controller. 3) A DALI Reset command will return both functions to default (broadcast) operation. Use a DALI-100 or similar provisioning tool to assign any other Dali drivers to the switch Group address. The default Group assigned to the switch is the same as the short address assigned to the on-board 0-10v drive. Since Groups are between 0-15, Short Addresses above 15 are truncated to 4 bits.

The AL-LED-Doubler device accepts a 0 to 700 ma input, and outputs two 0-350 ma lines. The two lines are matched in current assuring long life of the LED s regardless of temperature differences, different line lengths, or different manufacturers. Dimming is perfect down to low current levels. In the case of a mismatched LED type, wiring or LED fault, the AL-Doubler indicates the problem and helps identify the cause.
