- 1 INTRODUCTION This manual describes how to program sequences for the TWINCVI from SFP Advanced software (sequenced fastening process). This application offers a complement to the use of the controller and allows the operator to run a sequence of several tightening at various torque: - screws of various sizes on the same component. - when several components are to be assembled by the same operator at various torque values. - Flexible tightening stations with many fastening points at various torque (both tools can operate in synchronous or asynchronous mode). The SFP software allows to : Create several tables with different structures. Written or modified the parameters. Download and Upload the tables between the PC and the TWINCVI. This software runs from Windows 95 up to Windows 2000 and NT. 2 DESCRIPTION Barcode Reader Socket tray TWINCVI -Standard TWINCVI version (release 2.2 minimum). -ISaGRAF.program -Sequences from the table created from SFP_PC software. -Messages on the screen. Label printer CD ROM - SFP_PC software. - Structure of table for SFP_PC (*.grd). - Flash GR software. - ISaGRAF program (*.x6m). -Manuals (files PDF). PC -SFP_PC software. - Flash GR software. -Télé GR software. The application is designed as an ISaGRAF program installed in the tightening controller and the SFP_PC software installed in the PC. As soon as the application is installed, it is systematically running by the controller. The controller is standard again once the application is erased. S:\..\Documentation_SFP_Advanced_UK_1.0_0902.doc 5/20 09/10/02

First of all, the operator has to download the table (.grd file) from SFP_PC software. The downloading uses the standard GR network already use for CVIPC software. Afterwards, the SFP_PC and CVIPC software can be installed in the same PC. To starts an automatic tightening sequence, TWINCVI is waiting for a code. This alphanumeric code can come from: Written manually from the TWINCVI keypad. A barcode reader connected to the TWINCVI. A fieldbus network. The system runs the programmed fastening sequence. Once the sequence is over, the system the TWINCVI waits for a new code, the spindle(s) is disabled. It is possible: Associate the selection of cycles with the selection of sockets, using a socket tray. In this case, the fastening task can be performed only if the operator picks up the socket indicated by the blinking lamp on the socket tray. To allow one step to run in the whole sequence by another code (code of the part to assemble on the main part). To display a message on the display of TWINCVI so as to ask the operator to validate an action without tightening function inside in order to jump to next step of the table. Skip a step of the sequence if it is not possible or necessary to run it. In synchronous mode (using two spindles simultaneously), the socket tray is managed differently. Indeed, only one socket tray can be connected to the TWINCVI, which is only used to check spindle 1. In this case, the operator is supposed to take up, from another socket tray (not connected to the TWINCVI), the same socket as on the socket tray connected to the TWINCVI. The language selection is linked to the language selection in the SERVICE \ LANGUAGE menu of the TWINCVI: - French when French is selected. - German when German is selected. - English when any other language is selected. 3 PHASES TO IMPLEMENT THE APPLICATION To make the SFP software operational, it is necessary to: 1. Connect the TWINCVI to the PC. 2. Download the ISAGRAF application to the TWINCVI tightening controller. 3. Installed the SFP_PC software in the PC. 4. Create the tightening sequences via SFP_PC software. 5. Program the parameters of the tightening controller (cycles, station and peripheral menus). 6. Connect the various peripherals to the tightening controller. S:\..\Documentation_SFP_Advanced_UK_1.0_0902.doc 6/20 09/10/02

4 DOWNLOADING THE ISaGRAF APPLICATION TO THE TWINCVI Connect the TWINCVI RSPC connector to the COM1 port on the PC via PC cable PN 6159170470. The application can be installed in two different ways: either from a diskette containing the "telegr" object program or from the "FlashGR" software. The programs must be installed on the PC hard disk to operate (creating temporary files). The TWINCVI must contain a software version higher than or equal to 2.2 (for screen management). 4.1 Downloading from the "telegr" Software - With the TWINCVI controller switched off. - Click on Install. - Switch on the controller. - A bar indicator shows the progression of the downloading of the application to the controller. - As soon as the downloading is over, the controller is ready to receive the programming of the sequence of cycles. 4.2 Downloading from the "FlashGR" Software - With the TWINCVI controller switched off. - Open the "FlashGR" software. - Click on the "Grafcet" button. Using the "Search" command, select the file appli.x6m in directory: AUTSFPAAxx / Downloading the Isagraf program (for station in asynchronous mode). AUTSFPAS10 / Downloading the Isagraf program (for station in synchronous mode). - Open. - Validate. - Switch on the controller; the "Download" and "Upload" buttons are now enabled. - Click on "Download". - A bar indicator shows the progression of the downloading of the application to the controller (a few seconds). - As soon as the downloading is over, the controller is ready to receive the programming of the sequence of cycles. The name of the ISAGRAF application now appears in the bottom left-hand corner of the TWINCVI main menu. "ST1AS_#" program: This program controls a dual-spindle or single-spindle tightening controller, configured in asynchronous mode limited to 1 operator at the station. Ref. GR AUTSFPAA10. This configuration allows to connect 2 spindles with different torques limits in order to cover a while scale of torque. ST2AS1# program: This program controls a dual-spindle tightening controller, configured in Asynchronous mode, 2 operators can work at this station. In this configuration, 2 spindles are used simultaneously. The code selects a common tightening sequence to run simultaneously on both spindles. Ref. GR AUTSFPAA20. ST2AS2# program: This program controls a dual-spindle tightening controller, configured in Asynchronous mode, 2 operators can work at this station. 2 barcode reader are connected to the TWINCVI. Each barcode runs its own channel (its own sequence). The 2 channels runs separately. Ref. GR AUTSFPAA30. ST_SY_# program: This program controls a dual-spindle tightening controller, configured in Synchronous mode, 1 operators can work at this station. In this configuration, 2 spindles are used simultaneously on the same support (1 cycle start). The code selects a sequence to run both spindles in synchronous mode. Ref. GR AUTSFPAS10. 6 SEQUENCE PROGRAMMATION A sequence is a succession of actions step) to run in order to complete an assemble. In the CD Rom is a directory named sequences. This directory contains some models of tables structures. (files with.grd files). Those files contain some models that you just have to modify in order to run the customer tightening sequences. Every new table has to be saved in a new file (name.grd) on the computer. The ISaGRAF program downloaded to the TWINCVI can t run without this table downloaded as well in the TWINCVI. The TWINCVI can manage up to 40 different sequences. Each sequence can run a maximum of 10 actions (10 steps). After started the SFP_PC software Click on Files then Open Then select the table in your directory xx_sfp_advanced_table.grd for programs st1as_# and st_sy_#. ( 1 operator and 1 Barcode reader in Synchronous or Asynchronous mode). xx_sfp_advanced_table_2op_1cb.grd for program st2as1#. ( 2 operators and 1 Barcode reader). The actions 1 to 5 of each model are dedicated to spindle 1 and the actions 6 to 10 to spindle 2. xx_sfp_advanced_table1_2op_2cb.grd and xx_sfp_advanced_table1_2op_2cb.grd for program st2as2#. ( 2 operators and 2 Barcode reader). The table 1 (file 1) is dedicated to spindle 1 and the table 2 (file 2) to spindle 2. xx = FR (French) ; UK (English) ; DE (German). Double click on the file or use the button Open to open the table file. In order to modify parameters in the table, you need to unlock the file. Follow the instructions: "Service" "Login" Enter your password then OK (By default the password is blank, you just need to valid without any character). 6.1 Sequence table description 6.1.1 Mode Description This is an optional comment that allow a better description of the sequence to run. 6.1.2 Code Put in this field the code to associate to the sequence. This is the code that associate the sequence to run to the part to assemble. It is limited to 20 characters. In this field we can create mask ( by using the character # ) on different characters in order to select the characters that are really used to make difference between several parts. If this code comes from a PLC, it has to be written by PLC at address 16#700E(byte) = 16#3807 (word).for the program st2as2# (2 machines works independently) the address for the code of the second channel (second table) is 16#A2D6(byte) = 16#516B(word). At the end of the whole sequence, the code must be deleted from the memory by the PLC before proceed to a new sequence (new code). 6.1.3 Action Number This column is only an information. If there is no character inside, it doesn t affect the way of work of the TWINCVI. You mustn t let any action empty between 2, otherwise the sequence stops at the empty one. The sequence starts at step (action) 1 and stops when one step is empty. 6.1.4 Description This a comment field, for better understanding of the step (action) to run. It is limited to 12 characters. On the control display of the TWINCVI, only the 4 first characters are displayed in order to help the operator. On the second screen within to reach by key F8 on the TWINCVI, the 12 characters are displayed. Display a message: One step (action) can be used for an action which is not tightening operation. For example, fill up a tank of grease. In that case, the operator has to validate his action by a push button connected to the TWINCVI. To program this kind of action without tightening cycle to run, it is only necessary to put a comment of the operation to do in the field description and let the other fields empty. 6.1.5 Status This column doesn t have to be fill up. It is controlled by the ISaGRAF program. It can take different values: N : Action not yet done. A Accept report (for this action). R Reject report (for this action), (declared Reject by the operator). U Action running at the moment. O Nothing to do in this Action. S:\..\Documentation_SFP_Advanced_UK_1.0_0902.doc 10/20 09/10/02

6.1.6 Spindle Number This is the number of spindle to use for this action (1 or 2). In case of Synchronous mode, the value inside this field doesn t matter (1 or 2?), it isn t controlled by ISaGRAF. 6.1.7 Cycle Number This is the cycle to run (1 to 250). If the cycle number is missing in the field then the sequence stops. 6.1.8 Fixing This is the number of tightening (screw) to do in this action. The value must be different to 0. 6.1.9 Socket Number This the socket number that must be used in this action. Its value must be between 0 and 16 (4 socket tray). If its value equal 0, it means that the operator do not need to take any socket in the socket tray, or there is no socket tray at this station. The operator can t start the spindle, if he doesn t catch the right socket. In Synchronous mode, there is only one socket connected to the TWINCVI. We suppose that operator takes one socket in the socket tray and the second in another box. 6.1.10 Barcode This code could be the code of the part to assemble on the main part at this stage of the sequence. Maximum 16 characters. If there is no code in this field, it means that no code has to be checked before running this action. This code can comes from a barcode reader or a PLC or manually straight from the keypad of the TWINCVI. For the manual entry of this code: F8 on the TWIN, then write your code then validate by F10 Such code can contains a serial number which changes on every parts. Like the main code of the sequence, this code can use some mask by using the character #. If the code coming from PLC or Barcode reader or manually do not matches the code in this field, then a message appears automatically on the TWINCVI so as to ask the operator to read a new one. 6.1.11 Label printer If a P is written in the field Barcode in the first empty action next to the last real one of the sequence then an automatic label print out will occur at the end of the sequence or after a reset ordered by operator. On the label (format :25x85mm) will be printed: The barcode, date, Hour and final report OK or NOK of the sequence. This automatic print out run on a printer STAR DP8340. In case the printer is not ready, or has got a default, the ISaGRAF program jump this function and is ready to wait for a new code (new sequence). Rq: In case you use the print out function in the sequence, then only 9 action per sequence stay available. S:\..\Documentation_SFP_Advanced_UK_1.0_0902.doc 11/20 09/10/02

6.2 Jump to next Action In case you can t complete the action running at the moment (ie: lack of part to assemble), you can jump to the next by an external push button connected to the TWINCVI. The action is declared as Reject Report. At the end of the sequence (last action to run), then automatically, the software will activate the action that has been jump (return to the action not done). The only way to leave the sequence if you can t anymore complete this action is to do a reset. If you don t connect this input Jump then you can t go to the next action as long as you don t get an Accept report. Otherwise, you have to do a reset. 6.3 Copy of Table (sequence) Copy one file (*.grd) under Windows explorer as standard file. 6.4 Password in SFP_PC software So as to safe your sequences (tables) in SFP_PC software, you can use a password. Service Change Password Then write 2 times your password. At the first installation of SFP_PC software, there is no password inside, however it is necessary to to proceed as this: Login Enter so as to unlock the data. The function Logout permits to lock the data. S:\..\Documentation_SFP_Advanced_UK_1.0_0902.doc 12/20 09/10/02

7 SEQUENCE SELECTION In one grd file, you have several sequences (tables). Use the function key Page-Up and Page- Down to go to the next or the previous. The sequence number is displayed on the main screen. The menu Model give other way to go through the different models (sequences). - First Model. - Next Model. - Previous Model. - Last Model. If you clic on List Models, you display the list of every models created in this file. 7.1 Create a new Model (sequence) Proceed as this to create a new one (new sequence) Model New Model Enter then write down your new parameters. Or copy of Model (see below in this chapter). 7.2 Delete a Model (sequence) To delete a Model (sequence), proceed as this: Model Delete Model Enter. 7.3 Copy of Model (sequence) Proceed as this to copy one Model to a new one (new sequence). Model Copy Model Enter then write down your new parameters. S:\..\Documentation_SFP_Advanced_UK_1.0_0902.doc 13/20 09/10/02

9.3 Operator s Messages The minimum software version in TWINCVI version must be 2.2 (for screen management). ISaGRAF permits to display different message on the TWINCVI like an HMI. Te screens available with a standard TWINCVI do not have those 2 special fields for ISaGRAF message in control screen. It is possible to add them in the TWINCVI by using the FlashGR software. Connect RSPC of the TWINCVI to serial port of your PC (cable RST). Open FlashGR. Switch OFF then switch ON the TWINCVI. The icons Download and Upload in the FlashGR window become activated. Clic on Upload. Select Screens then validate. Clic on Screens. Select the initial screen you want to add the messages In Asynchronous select one of those: "Async 1; Async 2; Async 3". In Synchronous select one of those: "Sync 1; Sync 2; Sync 3". Clic on the right button of your mouse in order to display the options. Select First station then ISaGRAF message in order to display the message linked to channel 1. Fit the message where you want in the screen. Select First station then ISaGRAF message in order to display the message linked to channel 1. Fit the message where you want in the screen. Then Validate. If you want you can save the new screens in a new file but take care to give a file name in which the 3 first letters are cae. Example: caerework.bin. The download the new screens to TWINCVI by Downloading icon. 10 USE Once the SFP table downloaded to the TWINCVI and others devices well connected to the TWINCVI (spindles, socket tray, barcode reader, etc )the station is now ready to run. Send a code to the TWINCVI (manually or via barcode reader or via PLC). TWINCVI runs is sequence. At the end of the sequence, TWINCVI is waiting for a new code. At any time, during the sequence, the operator can check the state of the sequence by F8 of the TWINCVI keypad. A new screen appears. You can see the 3 first columns of the sequence running: The action number. Its description. Its status (N:Not done, A:Accept, R:Reject, U:Running). 11 Come back to a standard TWINCVI 11.1 Delete the ISaGRAF application in TWINCVI Use the software FlashGR (function delete grafcet ) OR by launching the file Erase_Isagraf.bat. 11.2 Mode Manuel In order to use the TWINCVI in standard mode without deleted the ISaGRAF program, it is possible to work in Manual mode by setting on the input 8 (pin 34) of channel 1( and 2 for program st2as2#) of the TWINCVI. Then the TWINCVI comes back to its standard I/O connection function: The output 8 (pin 34) End of sequence OK comes back to function NcycOK. The input 12 (pin 28) Skip of action comes back to function spindle validation. As soon as the manual mode is disable, we are in automatic mode.
