ihelp Phone APP User Guide Outline Programming is included in the cost of the unit. If you choose to make programming changes, be aware that Medi Alarm will have no record of any modifications you make. The ihelp will automatically program via SMS text the commands received from the APP and respond to your smartphone by SMS. When programming, note that the Send the SMS! button changes from blue to orange and you see a number countdown along with the message SMS has been sent. The countdown is to show that you should receive a confirmation text indicating that your command has been sent within the time period of the countdown. To download the phone APP, search ihelp 3G in the APP Store if you have an iphone or use PlayStore if you have an Android phone. After installing, put the icon that looks like this:... on your Main Screen for easy access. ! Account - NON-ESSENTIAL - best to skip this one. If the APP user wants to stop other users of their phone from making any programming changes, this is where you would do it. It is highly recommended that you do not use this function to change any of the default settings. The initial keyword and initial password is respectively defaulted as PROG and 1234. To change the default settings, enter PROG as the initial keyword, and 1234 as the initial password. Enter your new keyword and new password accordingly. Click Send the SMS! Beware that if you forget the new keyword and/or the new password, the only option for making further programming changes is to clear all data entered into the ihelp and start afresh. However this action still may have no bearing on what was initially programmed by us.! APN - NON-ESSENTIAL - skip this one. Data for this function is automatically set for use throughout Australia. In some countries, it may be necessary to input the APN data depending on the SIM card being used.! Outgoing Call - IMPORTANT and included with initial programming. Click Outgoing Call on the main screen to enter the phone numbers of the emergency contacts. When the grey button is pressed for 2 seconds, the ihelp will sequentially make outgoing calls to the contacts in the order which they are entered here. 1) Click the top NA. 2) The phone number entered can be for a mobile phone, landline or 000. Click Send the SMS! 3) The Ring Time can be set between 10 and 60 seconds. The default (and recommended) time is set for 60 seconds. The means that each contact will have 1 minute to answer their phone. If the contact does not answer their phone within that time, the ihelp will make a call to the next contact. The 60 seconds also has reference to the time in which the contact must press number 3 on their keypad before the ihelp proceeds to make the next call. The 60 seconds starts from the time the contact answers their phone. 2017. Medi Alarm. All rights reserved. Page 3
4) Click Send the SMS! for each contact. To delete an emergency contact, hold the phone number to be deleted until a window appears that reads: SMS will be sent to delete the contact! After programming all the desired contacts, press the back button to return to the main screen.! Incoming Call - NON-ESSENTIAL, not included with initial programming. Click Incoming Call if you want to enable one or both of these functions: 1) Enable auto-answer so that when the ihelp receives an incoming call, the phone number(s) entered, are automatically answered without the user having to press the grey button. 2) To block all but the numbers listed as incoming callers, refer to More > Enable the Allowable Numbers. When this feature is enabled, the ihelp will not allow any phone numbers other than those listed in the incoming call section to call the unit. Note that this option is not listed as an Incoming Call function but is listed in the section titled More. To delete an incoming call number, hold the phone number to be deleted until a window appears that reads: SMS will be sent to delete the contact!! Fall Detection - IMPORTANT and included with initial programming. When the ihelp senses what may have been a fall, the default is that a text and call will go to the emergency contacts as listed in the Outgoing Calls. If this is not the preferred option, then click Fall Detection to disable. Note that Fall Detection can be disabled even when the Call or Message switches are left on. 2017. Medi Alarm. ! Geo-fence - NON-ESSENTIAL, not included with initial programming. This is an advanced setting that requires patience and above average tech savvy skills. Click Geo-fence in the main screen, then click Geo-fence 1. First enter the latitude and longitude of the centre point where you want to create a geofence. Next, choose the radius to be 1-50 kilometres around the designated location. Then, specify whether the alarm is to be triggered whether entering, exiting, or entering and exiting the geo-fence. Click Send the SMS! Repeat for geo-fences 2 and 3. Choose the interval (between 10-60 minutes) in which notification is to be given when the geo-fence boundary has been crossed. Click Send the SMS! Note that the shorter the interval time, the more battery power is consumed.! Medicine Reminder - OPTIONAL function and included with initial programming. Click Medicine Reminder in the main screen. 1) Click the top NA to... 2) Set the time for being reminded to take medication. Repeat for entering additional times. Click Send the SMS! Note that the voice prompt will sound the reminder message twice in succession. The option is to choose one or all of the above. However note that even when ALL is the chosen setting, a text will NOT be sent for Fall Detection or Medicine Reminder unless the sending of a text is enabled in those APP functions. Also, there would be no Geo-fence text sent without Geo-fence settings. If the ihelp user does NOT want a text sent to their emergency contacts when they press the grey button, then we recommend choosing Fall Detection or some other option from the drop down menu. 2017.
