This ETS App enables the user to import data of a file to ETS to add configured KNX/DALI Gateways into a project. It is possible to import a Excel file or a CSV file. Create XLSX / CSV file Import Data ETS App add KNX/DALI Gateway ETS Commisioning KNX/DALI Gateway Limitations: - no data can be exported, only import is possible. - there is only a limited check of data inconsistency. - copy of cells within excel is only possible in columns - after importing in ETS parameters must be checked before download to the device. 1 General The ETS App is useful for the following devices: N141/03 03 : KNX/DALI Gateway plus N 141/03 5WG1 141-1AB03 Application program 983703 N141/21 03 : KNX/DALI Gateway Twin plus N 141/21 5WG1 141-1AB21 Application program 983403 N141/31 03 : KNX/DALI Gateway Twin N 141/31 5WG1 141-1AB31 Application program 983303 The following procedure is recommended: Install ETS App Import of manually or software-based created CSV file or Create Excel template for the selected unit Edit Excel file according to project requirements Import Excel file Optionally edit additional parameters of the devices Requirements Current version of ETS4.2 or ETS5 is installed. The product databases of all devices are imported. Installation of Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher te about ETS5 The ETS App is also useful for ETS5, but there is an additional procedure necessary, see chapter 7.5. 2 Installation 2.1 ETS App The ETS App KNX/DALI Gateway Data Import is available in KNX Onlineshop (http://my.knx.org) and can be installed and licensed according to ETS manual. These can be stored with Save to file or Copy to clipboard for documentation reasons. 2 Import This area is useful for the following commands: Device type Create XLSX-Template Import XLSX-Data Import CSV-Data Save sample import file Selection of the correct device incl. application version Here an Excel template will be created according to the selected device type for a later import as XLSX file. The file will be created in the current user language of the ETS. If the ETS language is not supported, a English template will be created. Using this command edited xlsx files can be imported. For this import user languages must match. Optionally it is possible to import a CSV-file, which was created manually or by external software tools e.g. CAD tools. This command saves an example of a XLSX and a CSV file for an easy startup. The XLSX Template contains all structures and data, which are necessary for a later import. 4 XLSX-Excel-Template 4.1 General The Excel Template is structured in several sheet: te: Gateways DALI Lines DALI Groups ECGs Group addresses Either the name of the sheet nor the column of the XLSX-template must not be edited or changed because they match to the ETS-Plug-In parameter descriptions of the KNX/DALI Gateway. The input format of parameter is equal to the displayed format in the plug-in. If no parameter in filled into a cell the default value will be used. A device will be added, if it is referred in a sheet. A device will always be added to the project. The device must be imported to ETS4 catalogue or once be imported in an ETS5 project. A detailed list of all columns in all sheets including range of values, default values and dependencies are described in chapter Fehler! Verweisquelle konnte nicht gefunden werden.. 4.2 Mass operation Microsoft Excel as editing software can be easily used for mass operations (like auto fill, copy-paste, ) for more than one identical parameterized devices. 4.3 Errors during editing Excel template Some errors of parameters will be displayed during editing the excel template. If a parameter value is out of range an excel message will inform you. 4.4 Common column description of all sheets Column - Gateway Here is the individual address: Format 1.2.3 If the address is already used, the device will be added with the next free address. Column Group addresses You can use 2- and 3-level group addresses. The free structure is not supported. The configuration in ETS (2-oder 3-level) is not important. The complete address range (16 bit) can be used. Valid group addresses are 1/2/3 and 1/24. The first group address (GA) is the sending. More GA must be separated with : (colon) or (space). Column with predefined values Only values within the dropdown menu can are supported. It is recommended to select from the dropdown instead of typing the value. The gateway N 141/31 supports no single ECG control, therefore add no ECG specific parameters. You can use the full range of the addressing room (16 Bit). Valid address formats are 1/12 and 1/2/3. Name for the group address Description for the group address Comment for the group address 5 CSV file The CSV file contains only the sheet ECG of the XLSX template with the assignments to groups, channels and devices. The structure and content matches to the description of chapter 4.8 Sheet ECGs. The CSV file must have a headline with field descriptions, which matches to the column names of sheet ECGs and so to the ETS Plug-In names. Those must not be edited or changed. HINWEIS: The input format of parameter is equal to the displayed format in the plug-in. If no parameter is filled into a cell the default value will be used. Through a CSV Import no general parameters and group addresses for the device and the channel or a group can be edited all parameter keep its default value. These configurations must be edited in ETS after the import and before of a download. Via Import XLS-data the Excel file can be selected and the import starts. In the view Messages all steps including errors will be displayed. The messages of the import procedure can be documented via Save as file in a txt file or copy to clipboard in other files. 7 Messages Errors during import are displayed in text field Messages. Find typical error descriptions and possible steps to solve these in the following section. 7.1 Wrong device type selected If a user tries to import another template of device type than created as template, typically these errors will be displayed. Reason: The following example shows the messages for type N 141/31 if you import device type N 141/21. Solution: Ensure that device type of template for import matches together. Row 0, col 'Emergency mode', object 'DALI groups': column does not exist in sheet Row 0, col 'Dimming value emergency mode', object ' DALI groups ': column does not exist in sheet Row 0, col 'Behavior after emergency mode', object ' DALI groups': column does not exist in sheet Row 0, col 'Behavior after burn-in ', object ' DALI groups': column does not exist in sheet Row 0, col 'Operation mode', object 'ECGs': column does not exist in sheet Row 0, col 'Minimum dimming value', object 'ECGs': column does not exist in sheet Row 0, col 'Maximum dimming value', object 'ECGs': column does not exist in sheet 7.2 Data not valid with this conditions This error message will be displayed, if a value cannot be imported because of wrong conditions or dependencies to other parameters. e.g. Parameter Duration night mode in the same column in sheet Gateways in 2. row causes through Sheet Gateways, row 2, col ' Duration night mode ', Object '1.1.21': value 10 is not possible under these conditions. Because of this error during import the device was not added. In this example above the user has selected no for night mode active, but additional Duration night mode was set to 10 min. The ETS App cannot decide which parameter is correct. Solution: The user has to verify the parameters. 7.3 Data out of range This error message will be displayed, if a value is out of valid range. e.g. Parameter Delay after restart in the same column in sheet Gateways in 3. row, which is between 00:00 and max. 04:15. Sheet Gateways, row 3, column Delay after restart, Object '1.1.22': value 04:30 is out of range Because of this error during import the device was not added. Because of ETS App cannot decide, which parameter should be implemented the device will not be added to the project. Solution: The user has to verify the parameters. 7.4 Address already in use If the physical address of the device is already used, the device will be added with the following message and with the next free address in the same KNX line. 14 / 28 DS01 Siemens AG http://www.siemens.com/gamma-td Siemens AG 2016 Control Products and Systems

The desired address 1.1.21 is occupied. The imported device was created at address 1.1.22. 7.5 Specialty of ETS5 This ETS App is developed for ETS4.2.. It can be used with ETS5 as well. The main difference is the use of the product database catalogue, which can cause occur this error message: devices from Siemens found in catalog / project. Solution: Import the product database in ETS via KNX Online Catalogue or von www.siemens.com/gamma-td?te2=141 In case of ETS5 the device must be added additional once in the project. 8 Appendix In the following tables show the column names (field names) in the 1 st line of the XLSX file. If fields are left empty, the default values will be used.
