Under the Ship category on the Applications page, select Car Order. Note: Customer names & locations have been edited out of screen captures to protect personal information. Car Order Home screen The look of the new system has changed and we have reduced the number of steps required to create new car orders. After logging in, you will see the Home Screen. 2 NOTE - Depending on the types of orders you manage, you may not see all the options shown below.
The home screen shows the current month calendar and is populated with the month s orders. If you hover your cursor over the order number, a pop up balloon shows brief details (pattern number used, equipment types, and any exceptions). 3
You can click View to see a separate order detail view or you can click Edit to change your order. If you click the Order # link, you can access specific details about the order. After clicking, scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see three tabs; Order Detail, Pattern Detail, and Summary; From the Order Detail tab, you can click the View Order button to see more specifics about the order. The tab shows the pattern ID number used to create the order, the equipment type ordered, and any applicable exceptions. You can see the number of cars ordered, applied, and reserved, by order date. You can also click the Edit Order button to change the order or select Cancel Order to cancel your car order. The Pattern Detail tab has a Pattern dropdown list. Selecting a pattern will show any orders associated to the pattern as well as a scrolling timeline (+ / - three months) with the number of cars wanted and applied / reserved, by ETA date. 4
Clicking the Summary tab provides summary information about your orders. Select a car type from the Equipment Type dropdown list to see all orders associated with that type. You will also see a scrolling timeline showing cars wanted and applied / reserved, by the current ETA date. You can check past or future orders by clicking the forward and backward buttons located at the top of the calendar. You can go up to three months prior or forward. Finally, you can create a Service Issue by clicking the Create Service Issue button. 5
New Order screen To create a new car order, select New Order from the menu From this screen, you can edit your contact information or create a new car order by typing a specific car pattern or by selecting a pattern based on a location. 6
Edit Contact Info Clicking the Edit Contact Info link will send you to UP s contact database, Enterprise Security. From this screen, you can change information such as your email, mailing address, and details about your current position. Creating a new car order Start the car order process by either (a) entering a pattern number, or (b) selecting a pattern based on a location. To create an order by pattern, type the pattern number in the Pattern box and click Continue. 7
To create an order based on location, click the dropdown arrow on the Location box and scroll down to view a list of available patterns for that location. Select a pattern by clicking the radio button and click Continue. 8
Cars Wanted The Cars Wanted screen lets you view all available order dates over the next 60 days (you can order cars up to 60 days in the future). The open boxes show which dates you can order cars. These open boxes correspond to the days on which you receive local train service. NOTE: You cannot order cars within seven days of the current date. To request cars, simply type the number of cars wanted in the appropriate date boxes and click Submit. 9
If your car order was successfully created, you will receive an acknowledgment with your new order number. Finally, you can also view a summary of your monthly orders. Under the New Order by Pattern Lookup section, select the desired month under the View Car Order Summary dropdown box and click the View button. A summary view of the selected month s car orders will appear. 10
Viewing / Changing orders You can view or change an existing order using the View/Change Orders menu option. The View/Change Orders screen allows you to view or change a car order by location or specific order number. Select a location from the Customer dropdown list or type an order (you can enter up to 20 orders) in the Order(s) box. 11
The New Inquiry Results screen will appear showing all orders for the last three calendar months. To view order details, edit, or cancel the order, click the order link (underlined in blue in the Order column). Order Details Status Effective 12/11/13, CCO will display cars in Reserved status longer due to constant monitoring of the actual ETA versus the original ETA, however the car information for cars in Reserved status will now be displayed Off plan cars in Reserved status will be removed from the order when an on plan replacement car is available (plan = meets the Want Date) Car information in CCO will change when replacements are made Status changes from Reserved to Applied upon arrival in the serving area yard 12
