Overview of the LPHE certification programme 3 product types : Gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchangers Brazed plate heat exchangers Fusion-bonded plate heat exchangers SCOPE Several fluids : Clean water (and by extension seawater) Aqueous solutions (EG, PG, EA) Liquid-to-liquid PHE used in HVAC applications (but not refrigeration)
Overview of the LPHE certification programme Range = family of plate heat exchangers models of the same product type (gasketed or brazed or fusionbonded) named under a unique designation. Model* = family of references which present the same essential characteristics (plate-to-plate pitch; nominal plate dimensions; distances between port axis; pattern type; single-wall/double-wall) Note : Certify-all applicability to be reconsidered in 2023 CERTIFICATION BY RANGE 1 Certificate per range *vocabulary used on the LPHE market

Overview of the LPHE certification programme TEST Conducted by an independent laboratory ISO 17025 accredited Specific test method in Rating Standard notably based on, but amending, standards EN 306:1997 and EN 1148:1999 list of test conditions defined (temperatures + possible fluids) 1 condition tested (design condition only) Test location Independent laboratory facility by default Participant laboratory (upon request) for big units (H > 2,5 m) and/or heavy units (> 3 tons) and/or nonscalable units* see Operational manual & Rating Standard *as last resort the test report can be provided by the participant

Selection of models to be tested in the declaration file 1/4 of the models with at least 4 models selected in qualification procedure (entry year) 1/10 of the models with at least 2 models selected in repetition procedure (subsequent years) If more than three (3) new models are introduced in the range during the annual declaration file update (LPHE-1 file) then one (1) extra test will be conducted on one (1) of this new models 2. Software running to get the product design details and the performances for a given operating condition 3. The list of selected designs is sent to the applicant/participant to order the manufacturing see Operational manual

On-site check (audit) Verification that the software version submitted for certification is the one used in situ Verification that all orders are treated fairly (no undersizing, etc.) 3.
