Standalone VM The Standalone VM lets you create IaaS virtual machines in the cloud that can be scaled up and down in instance size. This role is ideal for traditional infrastructure as a service standalone compute or applications that are static in nature. The Standalone VM includes two series of VM role instance types, the CPU optimised series (A series instance type) for workloads where CPU is the defining performance characteristic and the Memory optimised series (D series instance type) for workloads where memory is the defining performance characteristic. A Standalone VM can be provisioned via quick create or a gallery method which offers additional configuration options at build time. Each Standalone VM is provisioned with a default minimum compute instance size and associated OS disk. At any time after provisioning, a standalone VM that is powered off can have a number of configuration items changed. Hypervisor and Windows Server operating system licensing is included within the service price. Operating system premium support agreements are the responsibility of the customer. Initial available OS Templates - Windows 2008R2, Windows 2012R2, Ubuntu 14. OS disk size is based on the template deployed. Disk Management - Data disks can be added or removed. New disks are added with a default size that can be modified later. All disks including the OS disk can be expanded to a new size, however these disks cannot be decreased in size. Data disks can be detached from a running VM. v2.40 Commercial In Confidence 3

Virtual Networks - Each virtual machine is added to a tenant defined virtual network at provisioning time which includes a reserved dynamically assigned IP address. Additional virtual networks can be attached and existing virtual networks detached. DVD - A virtual DVD can be added from Revera s defined list or provided ISO s. Standalone VM s that are powered off via the Tenant UI or API will not be charged with the exception of the storage component for the instance which is charged per GB of Storage provisioned. VM Roles VM Roles provides a platform as a service compute role that can be scaled up and down by Virtual Machine Size & additionally scaled in and out to multiple instances. The VM Role can utilise advanced template engine combined with a customisable deployment wizard. Hypervisor and VM guest Windows Server operating system licensing is included within the service price. Key advantages of this service include; Scale up and out instances within a role Automated application deployment inside the virtual machines contained with the role Versioning of the VM Role with application updating capabilities The VM role includes two series of VM role instance types, the CPU optimised series (A series instance type) for workloads where CPU is the defining performance characteristic and the memory optimised series (D series instance type) for workloads where memory is the defining performance characteristic. A VM role can be provisioned via quick create or a gallery method which offers additional configuration options at build time. A VM role is provisioned as a specified role which includes the ability to select the series and instance size as well as properties that define instance count. The number of instances and the VM size can be modified at any time after provisioning a VM role. It should be noted that due to the inherent advantages and scalable nature of VM Roles a tenant is able to execute a number administrative operations that could result in an individual instance going offline or being deleted without warning, so special consideration should applied to your application architecture. Examples of this are : When a new instance size is set at the VM role level, all instances are automatically shut down and reconfigured to the new instance size. One VM instance within a VM role is not shut down until the other VM instance members for the role have powered back on. When a reduced number of instances is selected under a VM role, a non-definable instance is automatically removed, this has been observed as last VM instance provisioned is first to be removed. To guarantee you can selectively scale down the number of instances you can delete a specific instance at the instance level which will update the corresponding value at the VM role level. VM role configurable settings post provisioning include: Operating System Disk - a VM role operating system disk can be updated once provisioned. v2.40 Commercial In Confidence 5

IP Address Allocation - Instances within a role can receive reserved static IP address from the allocated network subnet for the role, which preserves when a VM instance is rebooted or powered off. Additionally a dynamic address can be used where the address of a VM instance can change at boot time within the allocated network subnet. This operation has no impact on the power state of a VM as it s a reservation. Note: The Apollo platform handles the static reservation and assignment of addresses, no changes should be directly made in the network adapter configuration within the VM instance. Logical Network - The virtual network for VM instances can be set. Updating this setting does not take effect on existing VM instances within a role and only applies to new instances deployed after the setting is changed. Password - The initial local administration password for each VM instance can be set. Updating this setting does not take effect on existing VM instances within a role and only applies to new instances deployed after the setting is changed. Virtual Machine Name Pattern - provides an automatic naming convention to the guest OS for each VM instance. Updating this setting does not take effect on existing VM instances within a role and only applies to new instances deployed after the setting is changed. Workgroup - changes the workgroup for each VM instance deployed under the role within the guest OS. Updating this setting does not take effect on existing VM instances within a role and only applies to new instances deployed after the setting is changed. Time Zone - changes the time zone for each VM instance deployed under the role within the guest OS. Updating this setting does not take effect on existing VM instances within a role and only applies to new instances deployed after the setting is changed. Instant Counts - the initial, minimum and maximum instance counts can be set. Any new maximum or minimum instance count settings made must not conflict with instance counts already provisioned or the operation will fail. Setting a lower instance count after a VM role is provisioned does not have any impact. Warning setting a lower maximum instance count that currently provisioned can result in a non-definable VM instance being removed from the role. For each VM role instance a number of instance specific actions can be taken; Connect - You can connect to each VM instance by a choice of console or to the desktop. The console is available to connect to an instance via a host RDP proxy which allows a tenant to manage an instance without direct network connectivity. Desktop offers guest network access via RDP assuming the tenant has access from the machine administering the Apollo console. State - A tenant can perform a number of actions including pause, restart, shut down and stop a VM instance within a role. v2.40 Commercial In Confidence 6

Delete - If a tenant has stopped or shutdown a VM instance within a role that instance can be deleted. This will also result in the VM role instance count being reduced. Configure - If a tenant has stopped or shutdown a VM instance within a role that instance can have a number of configuration settings changed independent of other virtual machine instances within a role. Size - Virtual machine series and size is changed independent of other VM instances within the role. Note: If a tenant at any time changes the virtual machine series and size at the VM role level, all instances will be set to the new series and size regardless of if a VM instance has had an independent change to its series and size. Disk Management - Data disks can be added or removed from an individual VM instance. New disks are added with a default size that can be modified later. All disks including the OS disk can be expanded to a new size, however these disks cannot be decreased in size. Note: disks can be detached from a running instance. Network - Virtual networks can be added or removed from a VM instance. DVD - A virtual DVD can be added from Revera s defined list or provided ISO s. VM role instances that are powered off via the Tenant UI or API will not be charged with the exception of the storage component for the instance which is charged per GB of storage provisioned. v2.40 Commercial In Confidence 7

Website Roles The Website Role provides a platform as a service offering where tenants can provision web application instances without the usual pre requisite of installing operating systems and configuring web hosting software. This service helps provide a high-density, scalable shared web hosting platform for ASP.NET, PHP, and Node.js web applications. It includes a customizable web application gallery of popular open source web applications and integration with source control systems for custom-developed websites and applications. The service is offered in 3 modes, Intro Shared, Basic Shared and Reserved. Each mode offers different performance characteristics, resources and price points and a tenant can switch between the modes using the Tenant UI or Tenant API. As the service is designed for scale out, no data should be stored on each web instance and no backup options for the service exist apart from the tenants own deployment method. Where persistent storage of data is required a database or cloud storage service should be used. A new service can be provisioned using quick and custom create methods which offer a fast way to provision a blank project for a tenant s own deployment of web application code or from a gallery of web applications that offer pre-defined starting points like CMS and Blog engines. Once provisioned a number of management options are available to a tenant for example: A website can be configured with a customer specific DNS name or use the default subdomain on the Apollo web domain. Custom SSL certificates can be uploaded and bound to a website. Additionally when configured with SSL a website will have virtual IP addresses. For deployment a tenant can utilise source repositories, published profiles or FTP access. Using a linked resource function a tenant can select to connect an Apollo DBaaS instance to their website for true enterprise scalability. A tenant can scale from one to multiple instances depending on the mode set for the website and the platform will automatically balance load across the instances. Intro Shared & Shared Mode - When a tenant puts a website into shared mode, it is added to the shared cluster of virtual machines across all other shared website tenants on the Apollo platform in that region. The number of instances selected in either mode does not directly correspond to number of hosts the web application will reside on however by default this service is highly available and websites will automatically be moved to available hosts during maintenance or component failure. v2.40 Commercial In Confidence 9

Reserved Mode - When a tenant puts a website into reserved mode and selects a size, a dedicated tenant virtual machine based on the size is reserved to host that tenants websites, all other reserved websites of the same size are put onto this virtual machine. This mode will also become the default provisioning target for any new websites created by the tenant, however this can be changed per website by changing the mode after provisioning. If a tenant increases the scale of a reserved website to more than one instance a corresponding number of virtual machines are reserved for the tenant and all websites provisioned of that reserved website are scaled in instance size. Unless a tenant selects more than 1 instance in reserved mode there is no high availability across hosts and therefore during maintenance or component failure a tenant should expect a website outage. SKU Service Unit RRP Description 3.14.1.1 Website Intro Shared No charge No charge Provides a free plan to host a tenant s websites on a shared platform. Backups Apollo backups offer 2 levels of protection for Apollo Standalone VMs: VM Level Agent Based Apollo VM level backups for Standalone VMs are opt-in on a per instance basis and are selected via the CloudCreator portal. Instances not selected for backup may be lost in the case of an unexpected catastrophic event that required a system restore from backup. Restores of VM level backups are requested via a service request. Apollo VM Level backups are crash consistent backups, if application aware backups are required, Agent Based backups should be used. In the case where a customer chooses to opt-out of an existing provisioned backup for an instance, the customer will be charged for 30 days for that backup. After 30 days the backup is then deleted. Agent Based backups for Standalone VMs provide file or application aware backups and extended retention (up to 7 years). Agent Based backups require the purchase of both Backup Management (5.1.5.1) and Backup Charge (5.1.5.2).
