3. Chapter 1 Product Information 1.1 General Information RACK-220 rack-mount IPC chassis is a rugged PC/AT compatible computer designed for the factory floor and other Industrial harsh environment. The RACK-220 features 6 slots Passive Backplane and high reliability Input Standard Power Supply : ACE-920A. 1.2 Product Specifications General specification - Construction : Heavy-duty steel - Disk Driver : Supports one 3.5 FDD, one CD -ROM, and one 3.5 HDD - Cooling Fan : One ball bearing fan for add-on cards cooling - Indicator : Three LEDs to monitor the status of HDD, FAN and Power Supply - Dimension : 473 x 483 x 88 mm ( D x W x H ) Passive Backplanes (Option) BP-5SD, PCI-5SD, PCI-6SR, PCI-5SD3, PCI-5SD4, PCI-5SD5, IP-5SD, IP-5SD3 or IP-5SD5. Power Supply (Option) Standard equipped power supply for the RACK-220 is ACE-920A. It also can be equipped with other power supply such as ACE-925A, ACE-932A, ACE-935A, ACE-932T, ACE-925T, ACE-925C or ACE-916V.

6 Chapter 2 Installation Procedure The following set up procedure is provided to assist you in installing the system, please follow the steps below: 2.1 Front Panel of RACK-220 RACK-220 is equipped with front panel, which supports Power Switch, Reset Button, Buzzer ON/OFF Button and LEDs. 9 LED & Switch: U4: FAN1 sensor Red / Green LED Status Light > 1000 RPM Green < 1000 RPM Flash Red U3: FAN2 sensor Red / Green LED (Reserve) Status Light > 1000 RPM Green < 1000 RPM Flash Red Fault Detection and Alarm Notification: The RACK-220 monitors the system for a fan failure (speed too low). If any of the cooling fan fails, a corresponding LED indicator located at the front door will change color from green to red and will flash (blinking). D20: HD System HD LED D21: POWER LED SW1: RST system reset button SW2: A Buzzer is activated at the start of any malfunction and sounds until the Buzzer Push button ( SW2) is pressed. However, the alarm indicator (LED) will stay blinking until the fault condition is solved. 12 2.3 Removing the chassis cover The cover is mounted by ten screws on the chassis, remove them and slide the cover to the rear of the chassis. Figure below shows how to remove the chassis cover. Step 2 Step 1

14 2.5 Disk Drives Installation 1. Remove the chassis top cover 2. Remove the disk drive bay 3. Attach the FDD/CD-ROM to the bracket with four screws and connect FDD/CD-ROM cable & power cable to the FDD/CD-ROM. 4. Attach the HDD to the bracket with four screws and connect a 40-pin flat cable & power cable to the HDD.

16 2.6 Replacing the Filter The filter of the RACK-220 is located at the front panel of the chassis. Under continuous use, the filter should be removed about once a month. Take out the old filter and slide the new one into place. Then close and lock the filter door. Step 2 Step 1
