What s new in Spectrum Spatial Analyst? This release of Spectrum Spatial Analyst has added the following new updates and features to the end user interface: Multi-Select: Users can manually click and select multiple features from a layer to show on the map information panel. The multi-select option can be accessed from the overflow menu of each layer in the legend. The map information display can be viewed and exported to CSV as normal. The Multi-Select option is available with named layer, vector layer and query layer. Feature Editing: With the new release of Spectrum Spatial 12.1, Spectrum Spatial Analyst now also supports the ability to edit TAB files. For details on how TAB files can be enabled for editing, refer to the Spectrum Spatial Manager documentation: Null Values in feature editing: When editing features, Spectrum Spatial Analyst now supports null values in picklists (using custom templates) and date columns. Enhanced Feature Editing for Multiple Changes: When in edit mode for a layer, the user now has options to remain in feature editing mode on the same record, to keep adding more records or to submit the record and exit edit mode. Current Coordinates: Users can view the coordinates of the current map center and the map s extents in both X-Y co-ordinates of the map projection and in Longitude-latitude. Administrator can use this feature to setup the initial map center and panable extents for a map configuration. This option is available from Right hand panel > Options tab. Quick Launch Options: Users have following quick launch options from Map Legend Panel: Add New Record: When a user has editing rights on a layer, they can easily launch the Add New Record panel quickly from the layers overflow menu on the Map legend panel. Launch Query : Users can now launch the Query panel quickly for a specific layer from the layers overflow menu on the Map legend panel. Create Thematic map: Users can now launch the Create Thematic panel quickly for a specific layer from the layers overflow menu on the Map legend panel. The create thematic panel will appear with the predefined layer. Quick Search: Queries defined by administrators can now optionally be shown as Quick Search options on the left hand address search panel. This is useful where admins want users to simply launch the queries without going through the usual query panel. Annotation Name Length: Increased maximum length of annotation name to 50 characters. Geocode Records Limit: When importing a CSV or Excel file and the option to geocode is selected, a warning message is shown that only the first 1000 records will be geocoded. The user can then choose to proceed or not. Timeout Message: 2

For authenticated user, a timeout message is now displayed when the Spectrum Spatial Analyst session has timed out. Users can optionally choose to log back into the application. For guest user, a timeout message with a Refresh button is displayed. The default session timeout is 30 minutes. For more information, refer to Spectrum Spatial Analyst User Guide. What s new in SSA Administration Console? The Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console is a web application that allows administrators to manage which maps and data from Spectrum Spatial are available in Spectrum Spatial Analyst. Administrators can control a wide range of options including setting permissions on what data and end user functions are available to users. Enable/disable Wildcard Search: Administrators can now optionally enable automatic wildcard searches for the locate service. When enabled the end user application will add a wildcard * to the end of the last search term the user has typed in. For example, if a user enters London Col then the search will be performed on London Col* and results will include items that start with Col. By default, this option is disabled and supported only for Locate service. Show predefined queries as quick search on left panel: Admins can now enable or disable whether admin defined queries they have created are shown as Quick Search options on the left had panel in Analyst. By default this is not enabled. Web Mapping Service (WMS) parameters: When a WMS is added in the admin console with custom WMS parameters, the parameters are retained and passed through to the Analyst end user application when making getmap requests. For more information, refer to Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Guide. Pre-requisites for Spectrum Spatial Analyst SSA12.1 is tested and supported on the Spectrum 12.1 platform. New Map Uploader: SSA 12.1 supports the new map uploader. It is recommended that all customers upgrade to using this version of the uploader to make use of full support for label layers and layer friendly names. Note that the new uploader requires MapInfo Professional 16.0 and 64 bit version to run. 3

When upgrading from or uninstalling Spectrum Spatial Analyst a backup is made of the customer configurations to this folder c:\backup_customerconfigs. If you have an earlier back up of customer configurations then please delete or move these as the upgrade to 12.1 (or uninstall of your current release of SSA) will attempt to back up the current customer configurations into that same folder and the two may get intermingled. Note that this backup location is for contingency purposes where you may need to manually copy configurations back. An upgrade or new install will not automatically read and deploy the configurations from this folder if the back-up already exists. Upgrading to Spectrum Spatial Analyst: The upgrade installer for Spectrum Spatial Analyst 12.1 will only upgrade from versions 12.0 and 12.0.1 Customers who are migrating from previous versions of Analyst will need to upgrade to 12.0 first, and also ensure that they run the label migration utility that was made available with Spectrum Spatial Analyst 12.0. Please see the release notes for Spectrum Spatial Analyst 12.0 for details. For more information about Spectrum Spatial Installation, refer to: Installation Guide for Windows and Installation Guide for Linux Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader The Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader is part of the Spectrum Platform Utilities. It can be downloaded from the Spectrum Platform home page directly or by using the links to that page provided in the Analyst Administration Console. The Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader is a tool that is added to MapInfo Professional. It allows administrators to publish a map into Spectrum Spatial. The tool creates all of the Named Resources needed to view the data retaining any thematic maps, style overrides or other layer settings applied in MapInfo Professional. Since Spectrum11.1 there are two versions of the uploader. SSA only supports the new version of the uploader which is available for MapInfo Professional 64-bit, since Label layers created by the old uploader will not work in SSA versions 12.0 onwards. For more information, refer Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader help documentation. 4

Supported Platforms Spectrum Spatial Analyst supports the following platforms: 1. Windows 2008R2 2. Windows 2012R2 3. Windows Server 2016 4. Ubuntu 14 and 15 5. RHEL 6.5 6. CentOS 7.0 Supported Devices, Browsers and Operating System Spectrum Spatial Analyst has been tested on the following devices and browsers: Desktop Browsers Here is the list of supported browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and Edge Mozilla Firefox 56.0 Safari 10.01.3 on Mac. Google Chrome 61.0 For Devices Here is the list of supported devices and browsers: Safari (ipad) on ios 9.3.5 Safari (iphone) on ios 11.0.3 Chrome on Android 6.0 Microsoft Edge on Windows Mobile OS version 10 Supported Languages Spectrum Spatial Analyst supports the following languages: cy (Welsh) (not for Admin Console) 5

da (Danish) de (German) en (English- default) en_au (English- Australian) en_gb (English- British) fi (Finnish) fr (French) nl (Dutch) pt (Portuguese es (Spanish) ja (Japanese) tr (Turkish)* New it (Italian)* New To launch either the Spectrum Spatial Analyst Admin Console or Spectrum Spatial Analyst in one of these languages, add a lang parameter to the end of the URL. For example: https://<server>:<port>/connect/analyst/?lang=en_gb Bug Fixes The following issues have been fixed in this release: CONN-33858: There was a Print PDF Error (IE issue) in which map layers were displaced compared to the map in SSA(only with google maps). CONN-33808: Earlier the google layers were not getting loaded unless a Google map layer was selected as the default base map. CONN-34043: Earlier when user selected same map configuration from drop down list, the SSA GUI was becoming non-responsive. CONN-34058: Earlier only admin had access to PDF link from callout. Now, all users can access PDF link from callout. CONN-32371: Labels were not getting rendered on map upon checking the label checkbox for the layer in legend. 6

CONN-34069: Map information was not showing filtered records in left hand panel for the underlying query layer. Product Enhancements The following enhancements have been made in this release: Performance improvement in getting authorized map config and CPU usage optimization. Support for EPSG-3004 projection for WMS layers has been added. Support for Bookmarking login page (including any URL parameters passed in) has been added. Now, data-bind count is displayed next to the Data-bind link in overflow menu of map information. Limitations and Known Issues in this Release The following are the limitations and known issues in this release: Spectrum Spatial Analyst The limitations in Spectrum Spatial Analyst are listed below: For IE11/Edge, only PNG format is supported instead of SVG format in this release. The only limitation of this approach is that style annotation legend will not be shown on IE legend panel for print. It will not impact on main page legend panel. The main page legend panel will work as it is with SVG images. This fix will only impact the print functionality legend panel in IE11/Edge. If maps with graduated symbols, pie charts or bar charts larger than 30px are used in uploaded maps then the symbols may appear cropped on the map in SSA. For end user created thematic maps SSA will handle and correctly show symbols up to 64px in size without cropping. From Chrome browser, the zoom level should be set to 100% else you may face some UI issues on the Spectrum Spatial Analyst. Points and line annotations are not buffered with search width value when using them in a query for searching intersecting features. Sometimes, this may lead to no query results if user is not zoomed in enough. Full querying of layers is not a capability of WMS or Tile services. Hence, the Analyst query functionality will appear disabled for a map configuration containing only WMS or Tile Business data. Call outs will still work however. 7

Maps which had a zoom range applied may not appear in print previews at certain zoom levels especially the lowest and highest zoom range levels. During print preview collation a larger size of image is requested as compared to the tile size present on Analyst. This difference in size sometimes leads to layers falling outside their prescribed zoom range, making them invisible in print preview. Known Issues The following are the known issues in this release of Spectrum Spatial Analyst: Bug ID Description CONN-30659 While printing, border of map is not honored in preview and print pdf. CONN-34521 Legend icons are not visible on Mozilla Firefox V 55 onward for exported PDF. Workaround: Use Mozilla Firefox version 54.01, in order to view legend icons in exported PDFs. Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console The limitations in Spectrum Spatial Analyst Administration Console are listed below: Maximum records that can be fetched on Spectrum Spatial Analyst application for a particular data bind is 999. Data Bind doesn't work for the tables having DateTimeOffset, We are not able to create named tables for such type of tables. Though Analyst supports the creation of WMS Base Maps with geographic projections (which use degrees as units such as epsg:4326), you are advised not to add Mapping Service Business Maps over such Base Maps. This is because the Mapping Service used by Analyst does not render maps in a form that aligns with geographic projections. The misalignment is because the standard parallel is changed as the map is panned away from the equator (this is called moving standard parallel and is a feature of all MapInfo products). The misalignment is more pronounced as you move further north or south from the equator. When adding WMS Maps Analyst will initially default to using WMS version 1.1.1. If the WMS service supports both version 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 then the administrator can enter the version=1.3.0 parameter to their WMS URL to force Analyst to use that version. If you are viewing reports from the Reports menu in Administration Console, make sure to disable any pop-up blockers in your browser as these may prevent the report appearing. The Analyst Admin should not use the Spectrum MWS Uploader or Management Console to upload a map as these do not create Named Layers and they will not work with Analyst. All the 8

maps should be uploaded using Spectrum Spatial Map Uploader only which is available on Home tab of with Analyst Administration Console. While adding a Raster Map as a Business Map to a Map Configuration, you have to ensure that the projection of the Raster map matches that of the Base Maps. The address search logs are not available from the Admin Console reports menu. In order to view usage logs for address searches and also other Analyst features the web access logs can be viewed in this folder: C:\Program Files\Pitney Bowes\SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\Tomcat7\AnalystConnect\logs\. The access logs are named in this format localhost_access_log.yyyy-mm-dd and the address search log entries start with this URL pattern. http://<server>:<port>/connect/analyst/controller/locator/singleline. The log entries also include the address being searched as a URL query parameter.
