2. Reading Task 1 Read the article about using the Internet. Are the sentences Right (A) or Wrong (B)? If there is not enough information to answer Right (A) or Wrong (B), choose Doesn t say (C). Is your computer safe? Many people think that because they are the only ones using their computer, that their computer is safe. Are you sure? If you are connected to the Internet, the answer to this question is no, it is not. There are a lot of things your computer can catch from the Internet. For a start there are viruses. A virus is a piece of code that you download without knowing it from the Internet. This piece of code can copy itself and can cause very serious problems for your computer. For example, it can destroy all your files and important information you have on your computer. Another unpleasant thing that can happen is that you get hundreds of spam emails every day. This can happen if you give your email address to people you don t know or to websites on the Internet. Giving your email to people you don t know can also put you in danger. You can be tricked into buying things or doing things that can hurt you. Certain bad people often try to find someone to trick. If they have your email address, they can send you a message that may contain false information. So, if you are using the Internet, you need to be careful that you do not put yourself in any danger. Don t give out your name and email address to people you do not know and don t download things from websites you are not certain of. Use the Internet with care. 11. People download viruses every time they use the Internet. 12. A virus is a piece of code that makes copies of itself. 13. Spam email is email you don t want. 14.
