Group Canvas V5.0 17 GROUP CANVAS USER SIDE FUNCTIONS INTRODUCTION Once the template is available on the user side there are a number of functions that the users have access to. This section of the manual serves to assist the Administrators' explain the user side functions to clients. USER SIDE SCREEN The Group Canvas module operates in Flash. The users will need to be notified that they will need flash installed on the PC or Mac they are using. Below is a screen shot of the Group canvas Screen with a template displayed. Figure 14 Group Canvas on the User Side Along the top of the User Side screen there are a number of tabs in which the user has functionality to edit the template. In the below Sections each individual function will be explained in detail.

Group Canvas V5.0 18 GENERAL FUNCTIONS a) Select Figure 15 General Functions The Select function is used to select and move image boxes and text boxes around the Canvas. Users need to click on select, then click and drag the items around the Canvas. (Note that permissions need to be set to give the users ability to move items in the Batch Update Retail Fields area). User can drag the image and text boxes around the canvas Figure 16 Select Tool - Selecting, Moving and Resizing image and text boxes

Group Canvas V5.0 19 b) Delete The Delete feature allows users to delete items from the template. (Note that permissions need to be set to give the users ability to delete items in the Batch Update Retail Fields area). Figure 17 Delete Tool - Deleting Items from the template Once the item is deleted, it is recommended that the users click on the Select tool to deselect the delete tool.

Group Canvas V5.0 20 c) Zoom The Zoom feature allows users to zoom into a particular area of a template d) Fit Page, and Adjust page Zoom Figure 17 Delete Tool - Deleting Items from the template Users can fit the page vertically, horizontally and manually adjust the page zoom. See screen shot below. Figure 18 Page Zoom Ways users can adjust the zoom of the page.

Group Canvas V5.0 21 TEXT FUNCTIONS There are many text functions available to the users, again, these functions can be enabled and disabled in the Batch Update Retail Fields area on the Administration side. a) Add Text Figure 19 Displaying Text Options on the User Side If the user clicks on the Add Text area, than a new text box will appear on the template. The user will then be able to move the text box to the desired area and adjust fonts, fonts sizes etc. Figure 20 Add Text Box in Group Canvas The user is able to add as many text boxes as desired if this feature is activated in the Batch Update Retail Fields area on the Admin side.

Group Canvas V5.0 22 b) Font Styles The user is able to change the font style (bold, italic and underline). To achieve this, the user highlights the text and clicks on the desired font style. Figure 21 Changing Font Styles c) Justification Users are able to change the Justification of the text field. The choices are, left justified, center justified and right justified. The user highlights the text first and then selects the desired justification. Figure 22 Applying Font Justification

Group Canvas V5.0 23 d) Fonts The Fonts that are assigned to the templates in the Batch Update Retail Fields area will be made available in the font drop down box on the user side. The user can select the text and then select the desired font. See Screen shot below. e) Font Sizes Figure 23 Changing a Fields Font Type The Font Size can be changed. Group Canvas V5.0 24 f) Font Colors Users can change the colors of the fonts by highlighting the text and then selecting the Font Color icon and choosing the color from the color picker. See Screen shot below g) Font Leading Figure 25 Changing a Fields Font color Users can increase and decrease the leading of a font by highlighting the paragraph and use the provided font leading icons. Group Canvas V5.0 25 IMAGE FUNCTIONS Image Boxes are either set on the templates as fields or the users can add them. Once an image box is on the template the user is able to upload images or select images already pre-uploaded to the image library to populate into the field. Once the image is populated then the user can manipulate the image in a number of ways. This section will explain exactly what the users can do. Below is a screen shot of a template in Group Canvas with the images boxes highlighted. Figure 27 Image and Text Boxes in Group Canvas. For users to upload an image or select an image to be populated into the image box, the user simply double clicks in the image area. At this time the Image Library, upload options, chart option and category management options display. See next page for screen shots and explanations.

Group Canvas V5.0 26 Figure 28 Image Library 1 To upload an image to the template & Image Library the User can click on the Upload Image Tab and the Following screen will appear. Figure 29 Image Library 2 Once the image is selected it will then automatically populate into the image box. At this time the user will see the available image functions. They will be all illustrated in the next pages.

Group Canvas V5.0 27 Figure 30 Image Populating into an Image Box Once the Image is populated into the image box, the user has the following functions. a) Moving Images within the Image box using the Horizontal and Vertical Fit Tools The user can automatically fit the image horizontally or vertically. Users are also able to manually type in the scale percentage and adjust the scaling using the + or - icons. Figure 31 Scaling Images within an image box

Group Canvas V5.0 28 c) Moving Images within an image box Images can be moved within an image box by using the hand tool. The actual image box remains in position as the image is moved within the image box d) Adding a new image box to the template Figure 31 Moving Images within an image box If the Add Image box is checked in the Batch Update Retail Fields area in the template setup then the user will be able to add an unlimited number of new image boxes to the template. When the user clicks on the add new image box, the new box will appear and the user can then upload an image or select an image from the Image Library to populate into the image box. Group Canvas V5.0 29 e) Inserting Graphs The user is able to upload an image of a graph. This is exactly the same as inserting an image. LAYERING AND TOOLS Once the Image and Text boxes have been added to a template, the user is then able to use certain tools to layer images and text on top of each other, duplicate images, rotate images, create colored boxes, and rotate images. a) Layering The below screen shot shows images and text layered on top of each other Figure 33 Layering Images Multiple Images Figure 34 Layering Images 2 Images only

Group Canvas V5.0 30 b) Re-aligning blocks of text and images Text and image fields can be selected as groups and aligned together. See the Screen shots below for explanations. Images and Text stage 2 The users can duplicate text and images by selection the image / text and clicking duplicate. Figure 37 Duplicating Text and Images

Group Canvas V5.0 31 e) Changing background colors of the Text Boxes Each Text Field on the template is in fact a box; the entire background color of the text boxes can be easily changed. See the screen shot below f) Rotating Text and Images Boxes Figure 38 Changing Background Colors of text boxes Text and Image Boxes can be rotated at 90 degree intervals with each click of the rotate icon. The user can click on the field first and then click on the rotate icon. g) Colored Boxes. Figure 39 Rotating Text and Image Boxes Colored Boxes can be added to the template. Group Canvas V5.0 32 h) The Grid The Grid is used to assist the user in lining up the images and text fields on the template. When the user clicks the grid icon, the grid will display. i) Outline (Text Only) Figure 41 Using the Grid to Line up Images and Text. Group Canvas V5.0 33 PAGE MANAGER Page Manager gives the user the ability to switch between pages of a template or project. The user is able to re-arrange the order of the pages and select a page to edit. a) Selecting a Page and moving pages around in a project When the user selects the page manager button the pages in the project are displayed. The user can double click the page they wish to edit and move a page in a project. Figure 43 The Page Manager There can be an unlimited number of pages in a particular project. Group Canvas V5.0 34 LIVE SESSION Live Session is a tool that allows multiple users in multiple locations to collaborate on a template in Group Canvas. One User Creates a Live Session and other users are able sign in to the session. There is also a live chat window that users can utilize to share ideas.
