Beyond the Slopes Initiative: Freeride Project INITIATIVE'S MISSION: Provide further incentive for students to use the BOYNE Student Freeride Program to benefit their academic future while making a positive difference in the lives of others, whether it be around northern Michigan or around the world.
OVERVIEW Your Objective To start something that will have a significant positive impact on society. That's intentionally broad to allow for creativity. This can be a service (one-time or ongoing), an organization, even a socially conscious business venture. We're not going to handcuff innovative thinking with a bunch of rules; so the only rule we have is... you must start something specifically for this initiative (meaning you can't submit a project you're already doing for a class at school). Keys to Success 1. KEEP THE IDEA SIMPLE!!! This can't be stressed enough... ideas that catch on are almost always incredibly simple, this makes them easy to communicate & spread. 2. Get fully dialed in on your idea and map it out before putting it in action. 3. Find a good mentor to help you... a teacher, parent, business professional, etc. What's in it for You? A valuable addition to your resume for job and college applications The satisfaction of making a positive difference in the world Experience that will prepare you to do more great things in your future Oh, and you could be rewarded... the best project gets a $1,000 BOYNE Gift Card, second place gets a $500 card and third gets a $250 card Plus, the mentor for the top project gets a 2019/20 Gold Pass, the second place mentor gets a Silver Pass and the third place mentor gets a Bronze Pass
