More Navigation Practice No notes Course Links link to another part of the course 19 20 Test Overview online exam Taken online; lots of different types of questions; can vary by instructor When taking a Blackboard exam: Don't open other windows; don't use the Back button; don't click outside of the exam. Don't get distracted. Don't be impatient Don't DOUBLE CLICK! Begin a Test Tells you about the settings on the test, like: Whether you can save and come back (Forced Completion) Whether it is timed (and the time limit) Whether you have multiple attempts Review all this information Click Begin only if you are ready to take the exam Click Cancel to come back another time 21 22 Taking a Test Test information at the top Timer optional in the blue box Blackboard saves answers as you go Click Save Answer to save a single question Click Question Completion Status to review which questions have been answered If test is long, click Save All Answers periodically Be patient! Take your time! Click once! Proof of Completion Confirmation displays when test has been successfully submitted Pay attention to this screen. If you don t receive proof of completion, something might be wrong. 23 24 2018 Columbus State Community College 4

Reviewing a Test Instructors can control the feedback that is visible to you. If you have questions about your exam, contact your Instructor sooner rather than later. Essays need to be graded by instructor first Review information about attempt at the top got the right answer got the wrong answer Points received are to the right of each question Assignment Overview online assignment 25 26 Taking a Assignment Submission box allows you type in your assignment Check your instructors instructions to make sure this is acceptable If you use it, be sure to save frequently or type it offline first Attach multiple files click Browse My Computer Comments are optional Click Save as Draft to come back later You MUST click Submit to turn in your assignment Proof of Completion Look at pink confirmation message You should receive an email with the same confirmation code Once assignment is submitting, you cannot make any changes. 27 28 Discussion Board Overview link to discussion board Accessing a Forum Post: A single message. Forum Overview Check boxes in front of threads, hover over Thread Actions and select option or click Collect Click down arrow beside thread to access individual actions. Click Thread title to open/read thread List View / Tree View in upper right Display Options on right Search allows you to type date/time Edit Paging options to customize number of threads viewed per page Create Thread button is on top: 31 Create a Thread Use a descriptive title Remember your Netiquette Watch the Emotions DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS Use proper spelling and grammar no TXT! Remember Your Manners Click Save Draft to come back later Proof read before you submit most instructors don t allow you to edit after you submit it! 32 Reading and Participating Click on a thread title to read the thread Read Thread The top box displays the whole thread and allows you to click each post The bottom box shows the message of each post Click Reply to respond to a particular post 33 34 Reply to a Thread Give a well thought out response Proof read! Don t forget your Netiquette! Click View Original Post to review what you are responding to Read Thread Replies are nested beneath the first post Click on the post title in the top box to read the post in the bottom box 35 36 2018 Columbus State Community College 6

Course Tools Instructor must create tools area for students If tools are missing, contact Instructor Contains links to tools such as Send Email, My Grades, Discussion Boards, and more Individual Tools may also be on the main Course Menu My Grades Lots of information : Needs Grading : Attempt in Progress : Grade Exempted : Completed : View Comments from Instructor Average and Median may not display Have grading questions? Contact your instructor immediately!
