J&M Blu<>Hub Dual-Module Driver/Passenger Stereo Bluetooth Dongle Kit for Honda GL1800 #JBLU-DNG23-GL18 2017 J&M Corporation. All rights reserved. 2/17 Installation and Operation Instructions

Table of Contents Product Description Section 1 Safety & General Information Section 2 Package Contents Section 3 Installation Instructions Section 4 General Operation Instructions Section 5 Linking/Pairing Scenarios Section 6 1. Product Description This is J&Ms brand new Blu<>Hub dual-module stereo Bluetooth Dongle featuring the latest CSR BlueCore8 IC chipset, with low-latency A2DP stereo software profile. This Blu<>Hub dongle system allows one or two Bluetooth helmet headsets (that include the A2DP profile in their software stack) to link to the dongle and share the common stereo music source from the GL1800 audio system. The factory handlebar volume control will control the music volume inside each Bluetooth headset, once linked and adjusted. Either driver or passenger can also link their own cell phone to their individual Bluetooth headset, simultaneously with the Blu<>Hub dongle, for automatic switching back & forth between stereo music and cell phone conversations, along with normal helmet-to-helmet intercom options. This new Bluetooth dongle will turn on and off automatically with the motorcycle ignition and there are NO BATTERIES EVER, to charge or replace. We will be offering a hardware/ software upgrade addition to this Blu<>Hub dongle system, with our exclusive JMAHP stereo/microphone profile on/or about July 2017. The JMAHP software connection profile produces stereo signals to each linked headset with simultaneous and continuous microphone signals back to the Dongle, to allow for driver/passenger intercom and/or CB radio transmissions, to fully CUT-THE-CORD on the Honda GL1800. This Blu<>Hub dongle kit is 100% plug-n-play into the GL1800 as a permanent and secure installation inside the left fairing pocket location. With this J&M Blu<>Hub dongle system installed, CORDED helmet headsets can still be used at any time thru the standard headset connection plugs. Made-in-the-USA at our factory in Tucson Arizona, with comprehensive linking and operation manual included. 2. Safety and General Information IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION. 6. Linking/Pairing Scenarios Pairing and Operation of the Blu<>Hub dongle to One or Two Bluetooth Helmet Headsets. 1. Turn on the motorcycle ignition, press and hold the top button for approximately 13 seconds until the flashing blue LED goes off, then release the button. 2. Now press and hold the same button for approximately 30 seconds until the blue LED begins flashing rapidly. 3. Turn on the driver s Bluetooth headset and put the headset into pairing mode. 4. Once the blue LED s on both the headset and the Blu<>Hub begin to flash slowly, the headset and dongle are paired. 5. To pre-set the headset music volume, first adjust the volume of the headset to maximum using the volume up button and leave it set at that l,evel. Then adjust the music source volume that is feeding the dongle, using the handlebar control, to a comfortable level for normal operation and readjust with the handlebar control only as needed.. 6. To link a second Bluetooth headset to the dongle, simply repeat steps 1-6 using the bottom pairing button. Pairing and Operation of Blu<>Hub Dongle to a Bluetooth Helmet Headset, Simultaneously with a Cell/ Smart Phone. 7. After completing steps 1-6 above, turn the GL1800 ignition off, turn the Bluetooth headset off, then turn the Bluetooth headset back on, then press and hold the HEADSET pairing button until the headset goes into pairing mode. 8. Select the hands-free menu on the cell phone, go into the Bluetooth section and have the cell phone search for devices. When your Bluetooth headset is displayed on the screen, click on it. When/if you are asked for a passkey, enter the corresponding passkey code. Your cell phone should now pair with your Bluetooth headset. If given the option, choose cell phone ONLY mode/no media. 9. Turn the motorcycle ignition switch back on and the Blu<>Hub will automatically reconnect to the Headset. 10. At this point both the J&M stereo dongle and the cell phone should now be simultaneously linked to the headset. 11. To independently set the cell phone volume, adjust the volume up or down buttons on the headset during an actual cell phone conversation. Additional cell phone volume adjustments can also be made on the cell phone itself, but only during actual conversations. 12. When placing, or receiving a cell phone call, your headset will unlink from the Blu<>Hub dongle for the duration of the call, and then automatically re-pair when the cell phone call is terminated. (maximum call duration of 59 minutes for this feature) Pairing to other Bluetooth headsets, while paired to the Blu<>Hub Dongle and Smartphone. 13. After completing steps 1-12 above, turn the GL1800 ignition off, turn the Bluetooth headset off, turn the smartphone off, then turn the Bluetooth headset back on, then press and hold the HEADSET pairing button until the headset goes into pairing mode. 14. Then turn on the second Bluetooth headset and put it into intercom pairing mode, at which time the headsets should link together for headset-to-headset intercom mode. 15. Repeat step 14 above for a third or fourth headset to be part of the group intercom link. 16. Then turn off all headsets in the group, turn all headsets back on, turn back on all cell phones and the GL1800 ignition, at which time all devices should re-pair and be functional. Note: Because of certain Bluetooth bandwidth limitations, when your cell phone and Blu<>Hub dongle are both simultaneously linked to your Bluetooth headset, you may experience occasional cutting out and/or momentary loss of data to the headset, which will not affect overall operation.
