History of Firmware Revisions V1.01 (08.12.1999) Asynchronous Interface: No data collisions in the RS485 Bus. New calculation method for the noise levels reduced influence of noise. V1.02 (15.12.1999) Internal factory test procedures optimized. V2.00 (06.06.2000) Read range increased. Asynchronous Interface: The reader only answers to a request with the COM-ADR = 254 if its own COM-ADR is set to 0 in the CFG2: Com-Interface configuration block. However this request will always be processed by all readers. Some EEPROM Factory Settings are changed. A reasonableness check is performed for some parameters in the CFG11: Buffered Read Mode configuration block. A reasonableness check is performed for the TIMESLOTS parameter in the CFG13: Anticollision configuration block. If NL-MODE = 0 is set in the CFG4: RF Interface II configuration block the reader itself actualizes the noise levels NL-MIN, NL-AVG and NL-MAX continuously. A RF monitor implemented. If an error occurs LED5 is switched on and the error code 0x84 RF Error will be send with every response to the host. A new Password function protects the configuration parameter blocks against spurious manipulations. The reader password must be enabled in the CFG0: Passwords configuration block. To enable a read / write access to the configuration parameters the correct reader password must be send to the reader with the new command [0xA0] Reader Login. New command [0x55] Start Flash Loader. A [0x63] CPU Reset command always executes a RF reset. A [0x69] RF Reset sets the anticollision parameters to their start values if the data buffer is erased. The commands [0x6D] Get Noise Level and [0x6B] Init Noise Level are now available in the Buffered Read Mode. The request of the command [0x21] Read Buffer contains the requested number of data sets. If the requested number of data sets is zero the error code 0x11 Parameter Range Error will be returned. The command [0x6A] RF ON/OFF halts the Buffered Read Mode with a RF off. The next RF on reactivates the Buffered Read Mode. This RF off doesn t clears the data buffer. FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH Page 3 of 16 SWRN ISCLR200 V5.04.doc

V2.01 (21.06.2000) The configuration blocks CFG6, CFG7, CFG9, CFG14 and CFG15 are reserved for future use and they are read / write protected. The RF-POWER in the CFG3: RF Interface I configuration block can also be configured in ¼W steps. New command [0x6E] Reader Diagnostic to read detailed informations about the STATUS = 0x84 RF- Error. Every command also responds data if STAUS = 0x84 RF Error. The length of the request of the [0x55] Start Flash Loader command is reduced to 5 bytes. A new STATUS = 0x94 More Data is used if there are more data sets to be send V2.02 (30.06.2000) Accuracy of the RF Power settings increased. V2.03 (01.08.2000) The command [0x6E] Reader Diagnostic responds with STATUS = 0x84 RF-Error if a RF-Error was detected. The commands [0x52] Baud Rate Detection and [0x63] CPU Reset always respond with STATUS = 0x00 OK. V2.04 (23.08.2000) A RF-HW error only can be cleared with a CPU reset. See [0x6E] Reader Diagnostic for details. Tag-it HF: Anticollision procedure improved. V2.05 (05.09.2000) The anticollision procedure with Tag-it HF transponders speeded up. Eliminated ghost numbers from I-Code1 transponders when the IGNORE-WEAK-COLLISIONS parameter in the CFG4: RF-Interface II configuration block is cleared. The command [0x6E] Reader Diagnostic has the new MODE = {0x02} to read the actual RF power, RF modulation and the temperature of the final stage. FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH Page 4 of 16 SWRN ISCLR200 V5.04.doc

V3.00 (21.11.2000) The serial communication interface works when the TRANS-FORM parameter in the CFG2: Com-Interface configuration block is set to {b00}. The transponder specific timeouts TIMEOUT-ICODE and TIMEOUT-TAGIT in the CFG13: Anticollision configuration block are replaced by a global timeout COM-TIMEOUT in the CFG2: Com-Interface configuration block for all transponder access commands. New command [0xB0] ISO15693 Mandatory and Optional Commands with the subcommands [0x01] Inventory, [0x23] Read Multiple Blocks, [0x24] Write Multiple Blocks, [0xA0] Read Config Block and [0xA1] Write Config Block for low level transponder communication. I-Code1 and Tag-it HF transponders are supported. The response of the command [0x69] RF Reset will be send after the competition of RF reset. V3.01 (19.12.2000) The command [0x6B] Init Noise Level is no longer available, because the Noise Level will always determine automatically. Hardware Version will be read out with the command [0x65] Get Software Version. The command [0x23] Read Multiple Blocks considers the block length. Protocol extension for the following ISO15693 commands: [0x22] Lock Multiple Blocks, [0x2B] Get System Information and [0x2C] Get Multiple Blocks Security Status Anticollision procedure for ISO15693-Transponder Changing evaluation of SOF for ISO15693-Transponder in ASK-mode. Low Data Rate supported V3.02 (09.04.2001) Some EEPROM Factory Setting changed - TP- 7,67us instead 9,44us - ISO15693-MODE: 10% ASK - ISO15693-OPTION: WR-OPTION = 0, - ISO15693-CMD-OPTION: No Break complete timeslot length at No Tag - min/average/max Noise Level = 0 New EEPROM Parameter in CG1 General Inputs / Outputs: Relay and Output Holding Time - If the reader receives a valid transponder, the relay or OUT2 is activate for this time. Command [0x02] Stay Quiet supported Commands with Inventory-Flag supported The request of the command [0x65] Get Software Version contains the Revision Status of the decoder firmware. New read operation in EAS - If the reader receives a valid EAS, the relay or OUT2 can activate. FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH Page 5 of 16 SWRN ISCLR200 V5.04.doc
