1 Overview of Wi-Fi Concierge Web Portal Your Home Gateway provides a web-based user interface, and a Wi-Fi Concierge mobile App for you to quickly configure the gateway and manage your gateway settings anytime, anywhere: Dashboard Overview WAN Settings LAN Settings: Configure the LAN IP & DHCP Server Settings Wireless Configuration Guest Network Connected Client Advanced Settings: Virtual Server/Port Forwarding, DMZ Network Tools: Ping, Trace Route Test 2 Access Wi-Fi Concierge Web Portal Enter https://ihome.hkbn.net in the address bar of a web browser 3
3 Language Settings 1. Click Language/ 語言 of the login page 2. Choose your preferred language Or you can click ENG I 繁 after login 4
4 Register a New Account 1. At the login page, choose your preferred language then press Sign up Now 2. Enter the following information, then click SUBMIT Email : Your preferred email address as your user name [ONE account can be paired with multiple gateways, while EACH gateway can only be paired to ONE account] Password : Your preferred password* Confirm Password : Input your password* again, password entered must be same as the above field *User Password must be more than eight (8) characters, and contain at least one (1) UPPERCASE letter, one (1) lowercase letter and one (1) alphanumeric character 5
3. After pressing SUBMIT, the system will send a verification code (OTP) to your email 4. Enter the verification code on the page 6
5. Connect to Gateway s Network Upon successful connection, press PAIR UP WITH HOME GATEWAY + 6. Enter the Last 4 Digits of Serial Number: After entering the last 4 digits, press PAIR UP WITH HOME GATEWAY + 7
5 Log In To Your Account Enter the Email and Password, then choose a language option and click LOG IN 6 Forgot Email 1. Click Forgot Email: 2. Enter your Gateway s Serial Number, then click SUBMIT 3. Tips about your email address will be displayed accordingly 8
7 Forgot Password 1. Click Forgot Password? 2. Enter the registered email address to receive the password reset link, then press REQUEST RESET LINK 9
8 Dashboard On the Dashboard, you can view the following information: Internet Status (WAN) Local Area Network (LAN) Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 5 GHz You can press MORE to view more detailed status of each dashboard item, or directly modify the settings of Local Area Network or Wi-Fi and then press APPLY 10
9 Internet Status (WAN) Check the Internet Status (WAN) of: Internet Connection Type (DHCP ; PPPoE) Connection Status (Connected = Successful WAN Connection ; Disconnected = Un-successful WAN Connection) DNS Server Default Gateway IP Address MAC Address Subnet Mask The above example shows that the WAN connection is using DHCP mode, connection status is successful as indicated by Connected, and you could get the IP address and other information for your Home Gateway 11
This below example shows that the WAN connection status is unsuccessful as indicated by Disconnected Please check: If the network cable is loose or try to use other network cables for connection; also, Please check the indicator LED status of ONT (Modem) (only applicable to HKBN broadband service customers): For normal operation of ONT (Modem), indicator LED: POWER,PON (GPON) and LAN (ETHERNET) should be ALL in GREEN. If any of the indicator LED is off or in RED, please first check the power connection of the ONT (Modem). If situation persists, please contact HKBN customer service hotline at 128-100 12
10 LAN: Configure the LAN IP & DHCP Server Settings Configure the LAN IP & DHCP Server settings - IP Address (Default setting : 192.168.1.1 ) - Subnet Mask (Default setting : 255.255.255.0 ) - IP Pool Starting Address (Default setting : 192.168.1.50 ) - IP Pool Ending Address (Default setting : 192.168.1.150 ) - DNS Server 1 - DNS Server 2 - Select ON to enable or OFF to disable the DHCP Server (Default setting : ON ) (GREEN = ON ; GREY = OFF) - Lease Time - DHCP Reserved Device o Select ON to reserve the IP, OFF to cancel the reservation Click SAVE to save the configuration 13
11 Wireless: Wi-Fi Configuration Home Gateway supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connections, you can set up an SSID for each frequency 11.1 Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz Set up 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network 1) Select 2.4 GHz 2) Choose the Wi-Fi Status 3) Assign a unique name for your hotspot in SSID name to identify your wireless network 4) Set up a Password for this Wi-Fi network *Password must be within 8-31 characters* The default settings are recommended. You can configure your own settings for the Wi-Fi network, or you can skip the following steps to step 11 directly 5) Select ON to enable or OFF to disable Hidden SSID. (GREEN = ON ; GREY = OFF) If ON is selected, the SSID will be hidden, you have to manually input the SSID when connecting to Wi-Fi 6) Select a Channel (Default setting: Auto) 7) Select a Wireless Mode (Default setting: ng) 8) Select a Channel Width (Default setting : Auto) 9) Select an Authentication Method (Default setting : WPA2) 10) Select an Encryption Mode (Default setting : TKIP/AES) 11) Click SAVE to save the configuration 14
11.2 Wi-Fi 5 GHz Set up 5 GHz Wi-Fi network 1) Select 5 GHz 2) Choose the Wi-Fi Status 3) Assign a unique name for your hotspot in SSID name to identify your wireless network 4) Set up a Password for this Wi- Fi network *Password must be within 8-31 characters* The default settings are recommended. You can configure your own settings for the Wi-Fi network, or you could skip the following steps to step 11 directly 5) Select ON to enable or OFF to disable Hidden SSID. 12 Guest Network With the firmware version 1_20 or above, your Home Gateway can support to create a separate Wi-Fi network for your guest. It can make your home network more secure. Enable the Guest Network 1. Enter Guest Network 2. You can edit the guest SSID name, password, authentication method and encryption mode for both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz guest network 3. After setting the configure, click SAVE to save your settings 16
13 Client: Check the Connected Client Information Check the Connected Client Information: - Connection o 2.4G WLAN = 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network o 5G WLAN = 5 GHz Wi-Fi Network o LAN = Local Area Network - Host Name - Mac Address - IP Address - Address Source - Type - LAN Port - Device Type - Vendor Name - DHCP Reserved (GREEN = ON ; GREY = OFF) Above example shows that the Host named ES whose MAC address is c8:2a:14:-:-:- gets its IP address 192.168.1.116 through DHCP, and is directly connected to the Home Gateway through LAN Port 4 Click SUBMIT to save the settings 17
14 Advanced Settings 14.1 Configure Virtual Server/ Port Forwarding Home Gateway supports Single Port Forwarding, Port Range Forwarding and Single Port Translation. 1) Select Virtual Server / Port Forward under Advanced Settings 2) Select ON under Action to start configuration (GREEN = ON ; GREY = OFF) 3) Input : - Service Name : Description *Chinese description is currently not supported - Port Start : External Port Start - Port End : External Port End - Local IP : Internal IP - Local Port : Internal Port 4) Select a Protocol 5) Click SAVE to save the configuration Example for Single Port Forwarding (Chinese description is currently not supported): Traffic directed to external port 8000 will be forwarded to 192.168.1.199 internal port 8000 Example for Port Range Forwarding (Chinese description is currently not supported): Traffic directed to external port in the range of 8443-8444 will be forwarded to 192.168.1.2 internal port 8443 18
Example for Single Port Translation (Chinese description is currently not supported): Traffic directed to external port 8080 will be forwarded to 192.168.1.2 internal port 9080 Disable Virtual Server/ Port Forwarding 1) Select OFF under Action (GREEN = ON ; GREY = OFF) 2) Click SAVE to save the change Remove Virtual Server/ Port Forwarding 1) Click next to Action 2) Click CONFIRM 14.2 Configure DMZ 1) Click DMZ under Advanced Settings 2) Click ON to enable or OFF to disable DMZ (GREEN = ON ; GREY = OFF) 3) Input the LAN IP Address 4) Click SAVE to save the change 19
15 Admin 15.1 Check/ Reboot/ Re-apply All Settings Click Device Information to view information of the Home Gateway: - Model Number - Firmware Version - Uptime - Device Time - upnp Status Click REBOOT to restart your Home Gateway Click RE-APPLY ALL SETTING to re-apply all the setting you have done on your Home Gateway 15.2 Network Tools 15.2.1 Ping Test Click Network Tools Follow the steps below to perform a Ping test: 1) Select Ping in Method 2) Input the website or IP in Target 3) Click QUERY 4) Below results will be displayed: Average Response Time Diagnostics State : Complete means the test is successful Failure Count Maximum Response Time Minimum Response Time Success Count 20
Here is the Ping Test Result, showing that the Home Gateway could successfully send and receive data 4 times with www.google.com without failure. The average response time is only 14 ms and there is no difference between the maximum and minimum response time, representing that the internet connection is stable. 21
15.2.2 Trace Route Test Follow the steps below to perform a Trace Route test: 1) Select Traceroute in Method 2) Input the website or IP in Target 3) Click QUERY 4) Below results will be displayed: Diagnostics State : Complete means the test is successfully performed Response Time : The time needed for transmitting and receiving data from the Home Gateway to destination Number of Entries : The number of routers passed through for transmitting data from the Home Gateway to destination Index, Host Address and RT Times: The Host Name, Host IP address and the round trip times (in ms) needed for transmitting and receiving data from the Home Gateway to destination Here is the trace route result, showing that the test is performed successfully, and it lists out the path for transmitting data from the Home Gateway to destination www.yahoo.com.hk 22

17 Gateway Settings 17.1 Change Name of Gateway To change the name of you gateway, please click Gateway Settings and change your Name of Gateway inside the orange frame. Press SAVE to save your settings 24
17.2 Add Home Gateway *ONE account can be paired with multiple gateways, while EACH gateway can only be paired to ONE account * Press ADD HOME GATEWAY + and then follow the insruction 25
17.3 Delink Home Gateway To un-pair your gateway, click DELINK HOME GATEWAY and CONFIRM 26
18 User Settings 18.1 Change Name Click User Settings, input the name you want to be shown in the orange frame, then press SAVE to save the settings 27
18.2 Change Password Click Change Password Enter the following information to change password *User Password must be more than eight (8) characters, and contain at least one (1) UPPERCASE letter, one (1) lowercase letter and one (1) alphanumeric character* Current Password New Password Confirm New Password Then press SUBMIT 28
19 Manage Another Gateway If your account is paired with more than one gateway, you can choose the appropriate small house icon at the top right hand corner of the page to enter the configuration menu of that device for management. 20 Logout Click Log out and then press CONFIRM to log out END 29
