Connection to Television There are several possible configurations, depending on your television: - It is recommended that you connect the player to your television with an HDMI cable in order to enjoy the image of optimal resolution and quality (cable not included). - In case your television does not have any HDMI input, connect a SCART cable or an Audio/Video cable from the player to your television (cable not included). For DVD Program For CD/MP3 Program, 1.Put in a MP3/CD format disc. 2.There is Edit Mode at the right side of the list. Press enter to choose Edit Mode, then move the LEFT button to enter song selection, press ENTER to confirm. Then move the cursor to add to Program at the right side, press ENTER to confirm. Move the cursor and enter Program View to chooose program playing. Note: If song is being played while programming, press STOP button to stop current playing before you choose program playing. 3.To clear the program, it must be in STOP status, After choosing the song needed to clear move the cursor to Clear Program. Press ENTER to confirm. Notes: Ensure you have chosen Edit Mode before clearing program. 4.There are 3 Repeat modes and 3 Mode states at the right side, Repeat Single is to repeat single track. Repeat Folder is to repeat tracks in the whole folder. Repeat Off is to cancel repeat. Mode normal is to play normally, shuffle on is to play randomly. Music intro is to play the prelude only. Notes: To play randomly, preset repeat state as Repeat: off at the right side, mode state as Shuffle on. Press NEXT from the remote control to play without sequence.
6.Connecting a USB device 1) Power-on the unit. 2) Make sure no disc has been inserted inside the tray. 3) Insert a USB key inside the connector. 4) Press the USB key from the remote control to start. Remark: Depending on the capacity of the device, the reading can take more than 1 minute before lauching the video. The unit cannot read my USB device. - Once you have plugged your device to the unit, you may need to switch on the USB device before it can operate. - This unit does not support a direct USB connection with a computer. You need to use a USB device, a MP3 player or a PMP (Portable Multimedia Player with hard disk). - If you are using a USB external hard disk: you need to connect your device simultaneously to an external power source and to the unit. If you are using a self-powered PMP, make sure that the battery is sufficiently loaded. - Check that the files system of your USB device is formatted into the FAT or FAT 32 format. USB device formatted into NTFS are not compatible with this unit. Caution: if you attempt to modify your file system, formatting your device will erase all data. Please refer to your USB device s instruction manual first. - Warning: Connect your USB device directly to the USB port of the device. HDMI Mode Display Problem: When you select an HDMI display mode which is not supported by your television (if you choose, for example, 1080i while your television supports up to 20p only), you get a black screen. As a result, you cannot change the HDMI resolution in the setup menu. You should then use a SCART cable to connect your television. Once the screen displays normally again, you can change to an appropriate HDMI setting in the menu. Msic Msic.3.1 Digital Output Selecting the Digital Output setting allows the user to adjust the audio output on S/PDIF ports to work in harmony with the audio equipment (e.g. receiver, speakers) connected to the player. Off: Digital audio output is disabled. PCM: Select this option when you are going to use stereo signals (2 channels). ALL: If you select this option the player will play the DVD s original audio track. Use this option when you want to use the Dolby Digital AC3 signals through the optical or coaxial audio output.
8. Please consult the following section when you encounter problems using this DVD player. If the player ceases to function properly after some wrong settings, you may restore the factory defaults as described in Section 8.5.1 on the previous page. In all cases, for your safety, never attempt to open the unit by yourself given the presence of dangerous voltage inside. Only the technicians of the after-sale service are authorized to open and repair it. NO PICTURE AND NO SOUND - Press the Standby button to turn on the player. - Check the power outlet and make sure that the plug is firmly inserted. - Ensure the power cord is not damaged. - Your player is by default in Audio/Video mode. If you use an HDMI cable to connect it to your television, you must press the VIDEO button on the player's remote control to switch to HDMI mode. After that, press the HDMI button to select the maximum resolution supported by your television (up to 1080p). If there is no display on the screen, connect both the Audio/Video cable and HDMI cable to your television before switching to HDMI mode. (Cables not included) MALFUNCTION - Turn off the player then turn it on again. If necessary, disconnect it from the wall outlet. THE DISC IS STUCK IN THE DISC TRAY - Turn off the player. Then turn it on and immediately press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control. THERE IS SOUND BUT NO PICTURE - Make sure you have connected the audio cable to the audio input (instead of an audio output) on your television. - Check if the sound is cut or reduced to minimum. THERE IS PICTURE BUT NO SOUND - You should set the video mode on your television to be SCART or AV-IN (Audio/Video Input). DISTORTED OR BLACK AND WHITE PICTURE - Choose the video mode (PAL or NTSC) by pressing the N/P button on the remote control. You can change the default value of this setting in the player s video menu. CHOPPING SOUND OR IMAGE DURING PLAYBACK - Check if the disc is not scratched or damaged. Try another disc. - Make sure the SCART and the Audio/Video cables are connected firmly and correctly. DISPLAY OF MESSAGE NO DISC OR BAD DISC - Make sure you insert the disc on the correct side. - Check if the disc is not scratched or damaged. Try another disc. - Make sure that the disc format is supported by this player. - The message may also appear in case of overheating. In this case, turn the unit off for approximately an hour. Also leave sufficient ventilation space around the unit, as described at the beginning of this manual. REMOTE CONTROL PROBLEM - Check battery status. If necessary, replace by two new AAA batteries. - Make sure batteries are inserted by following the +/- polarity signs. - Remove all the objects between the front of the DVD player and remote control.
9. 100-240V~50/60Hz HDMI /SVCD/JPEG/MPEG-4 SDTV: 480p, 56p HDTV: 20P, 1080I,1080P Important remarks about reading MPEG-4 videos on this unit If you encounter any problems when playing MPEG4 videos, please check the below points: 1) There is a wide variety of codecs and compression methods in use. It is possible that some videos, including those downloaded from unofficial websites, are not fully compatible with this unit. This product incorporates copyright protection technology that is protected by U.S. patents and other intellectual property rights. Use of this copyright protection technology must be authorized by Rovi Corporation, and is intended for home and other limited viewing uses only unless otherwise authorized by Rovi Corporation. Reverse engineering and disassembly are prohibited. 2) This player does not support MPEG4 videos recorded using a High Definition format. The MPEG-4 HD and H.264 formats are different from the standard-resolution one. For the time being, videos encoded in High Definition are only readable on computers. 3) Maximum resolutions supported by MPEG-4 codecs and this unit are: 20x480@30fps / 20x56@25fps 4) Videos must be encoded with a soundtrack in MP3 format, since other formats, such as AC3, are not supported. If there is no sound, it means that the audio codec is not compatible. 5) If your MPEG-4 video file does not appear on the unit s screen, check that the file name ends with the extension.avi.
