Make sure the HDD SATA connectors are in alignment with the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan SATA connectors. Gently insert the SATA hard drive into the SATA drive slot. 2. Plug the included switching power adapter into the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan power adapter jack, then plug the switching power adapter into a reliable power source. 3. Use the USB 3.0 cable to plug the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan into the computer. 4. Switch on the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan, make sure that the 3 blue Power LEDs are lit. Note: Do not insert or remove a hard drive when the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan is powered on. 3

Driver Installation Windows will automatically detect and install the drivers for the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan. No additional driver installation is needed. Note: In order to get USB 3.0 performance, make sure your USB 3.0 controller has the correct drivers installed. Using the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan Windows An additional drive icon will appear in My Computer when the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan is plugged into a USB 3.0 port. The drive acts just like a conventional hard drive in your system. Note: Be careful not to touch the hard drive while in use. It will be warm. 4

Disconnecting From The Computer Before unplugging the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan from the computer, it must first be stopped, by using Windows' Safely Remove Hardware utility. Follow the steps below for your version of Windows. The same rule applies when turning off the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan. Not following the instructions may result in data corruption or damage to the hard drive. Windows 7 (32-/64-bit) 1. Verify that the HDD LED is OFF before proceeding. 2. Click the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon located in the taskbar by the system clock. 3. Click Eject AS2105. 4. When the message Safe To Remove Hardware pops up, you can safely turn off or unplug the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan. Windows Vista (32-/64-bit) 1. Verify that the HDD LED is OFF before proceeding. 2. Double click the Unplug or Eject Hardware icon located in the system tray. 3. Highlight USB Mass Storage Device, click Stop. 4. Click OK, click OK again, then Close. 5. You can safely unplug or turn off the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan. 5

Windows XP (32-/64-bit) / Server 2003 & 2008 ( 32-/64-bit) / 2000 SP4 1. Verify that the HDD LED is OFF before proceeding. 2. Double click the Safely Remove Hardware icon located in the system tray. 3. Highlight USB Mass Storage Device, click Stop, OK then Close. 4. You can safely unplug or turn off the SuperSpeed USB to SATA 3Gb/s Docking with Fan. 6
