Restaurant Your task You have been asked to edit a graphics presentation for the director of a chain of restaurants. The presentation is to be clear and free from errors. You will also input some data and enter formulas into an appropriate software application and produce a suitable chart. The chart is to be inserted into a new slide in the presentation. Please remember to save all of your work using logical filenames. What you will need You will receive an email from your assessor at the start of this assessment with four files attached. 1) graphics This contains text for use in Task A 2) menu This contains text also for use in Task A 2) costs This is the spreadsheet for use in Task B 3) review This contains a table to complete the review task Task D You will also need to download an image obtained from the web address: www.cityandguilds.com/functionalskills/candsample In order to carry out this assessment you will need to select and use appropriate software applications and use email with attachments. There are five tasks to complete. You are required to: edit a graphics presentation perform calculation(s) produce a chart complete a review table send an email. You will be assessed on: developing information searching saving files using the internet understanding safety and security practices. You have 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the tasks. Task A 1) a) Start up the ICT system correctly. b) Open the email sent from your assessor. c) Set up a folder to store the attachments and give this an appropriate name. d) Save the files to the folder you set up in 1) c) 4 marks Presentation 2) a) Open the file graphics using a suitable software application b) Edit slide 1 title (Tout Le Monde) using a suitable font style with font size 48. c) Change all other text to Arial and font size 18 d) Select a suitable image for the slide from: www.cityandguilds.com/functionalskills/candsample Save a screen print of the webpage with an appropriate name. e) Place the image as shown in slide 1. f) Customise slide transition to suit the presentation, eg fade, appear. 8 marks 3) a) Copy slide 1 heading into slide 2 b) Add the bullet point as shown below to slide 2 New range of menus 4) a) Insert a new slide (slide 3) and copy heading from slide 2 b) Insert file menu and align menu prices c) Check and correct any spelling errors d) Save the presentation with a suitable file name. 5 marks Task B Costs You have been asked to enter data and formulas into a spreadsheet. The file costs contains data about the finances of the restaurants. 5) a) Open the spreadsheet costs. b) In cell D7 enter 38000.00 c) In cell A9 type TOTALS. d) Format ALL columns as currency to two decimal places. e) In cell D9 enter a formula (or use autosum) to show the total costs. f) In cell G4 enter a formula (or use autosum) to calculate the income. (Income is food sales plus drinks sales) g) Replicate this formula for all restaurants. h) Save the document using an appropriate file name. i) Save the document again with another file name showing formulas used. 9 marks Functional Skills ICT Level 1 assessment - Restaurant 2

6) Use two other ways to format the spreadsheet to suit the purpose of the task. Ways may include: alignment, %, number of decimals, currency, colours, fonts, borders, styles, row height, column width, merge cells, text wrap. Produce a chart 7) a) Create a chart showing in descending order the total costs for each restaurant. Include axis labels and legend b) Give the chart the heading Restaurant Costs. c) Place this chart below the data. d) Save the file with a different name. 6 marks 8) a) Open the graphics presentation saved at 4d) b) Insert new slide (slide 4) c) Insert the chart Restaurant Costs. d) Save the presentation. Task C 9) Answer the following in a word processed document. a) State one ways to keep information secure. b) State briefly how a digital camera can be safely removed from the computer. c) You were asked to check and correct any errors in Task A. How did you do it? d) State what action needs to be taken if the image taken in Task A is copyright but is needed for the poster. 5 marks Remember to save this document with an appropriate name Task D 10) Review work Please complete review stating the folder name and file names you have used.
