Building owner: Decides if an Active House radar should be carried out and decides levels of ambition for the 9 indicators Decides if the radar is only used as design-tool or if the projects should be verified Contacting the Active House Alliance that provides contact details on verifier
Commissioner: Participating in AH webinar Gathers information on the building like drawings, information regarding technical installations and constructions to calculate the AH radar Establishing contact with the verifier and deciding when the verifier is introduced to the project (early involvement is prefeared) When the radar calculation is finished, information regarding the result, drawings etc must be handed in to the verifier (See later section for details)
Verifier: Verifies the project and project documentation from the commissioner Reports the result of the verification to the commissioner and the Active House Alliance If the project is approved the process is completed when the verifier sends the results of the verification to the Active House alliance If corrections needs to be made, the verifier contacts the commissioner for a dialog in the corrections After approval of corrections, the verifier sends the final result to the Active House Alliance The verifier must be available with in a reasonable time-usage to answer questions regarding the radar-evaluation and AH specifications if needed
Commissioner If changes are made to the project during the construction process, the commissioner is responsible for corrections to the relevant calculations and radarupdates corresponding the the changes made Any changes made must be reported to the verifier Commissioner and building owner receives information on approval from the verifier and the Active House Alliance
Documentation needed for verification
Documentation needed for verification To be allowed to commission an Active House project and perform radar evaluations the commissioner must fulfill the following requirements An education in engineering, architecture or other relevant scientific education Thorough knowledge of buildings and their performance in relation to energy, indoor environment and environment (LCA) Knowledge with the relevant standards used in Active House eg. national energy standards, the EN15251 standard on indoor comfort and the EN15978 on Assessment of environmental performance of buildings Participated in the one-day Active House webinar
Documentation needed for verification Verification procedure consists of two phases 1.Screening 2.Detailed verification
Documentation needed for verification Verification procedure consists of two phases 1.Screening The commissioner shall collect general information and documents and send it to the verifier for him or her to verify and screen: Radar calculation file (Excel-file and pdfs) File with a description of the qualitative values Drawing material in PDF Floor plan for each floor Sectional drawings Facade drawings Drawing or description of the technical installations File with calculated areas

Output of verification After the verification the output from the verifier will be either: When the project is apporved, the verifier will send the following to the building owner, the commissioner and to the Active House Alliance:
Validity of label Validity A verified Active House radar is valid until significant changes, which are of great importance to the radar, are made to the building. Then the project must be revised no later than one year after the changes are made.
Labeling and specification version The project to be evaluted must be evaluated according to the current version of the specifications The current version of the specifications is the version that is valid at the time when the commissioner contacts the Active House Alliance for contact details of the verifier. The validation of the project must be performed according to the same version of the specifications as used by the commissioner.
Fees and contracts All contracting regarding the verification is a matter between the commissioner and the verifier The following fees are suggested for new-build projects:

Requirements to verify an Active House To be allowed to verify an Active House project the verifyer must fulfill the following requirements The verifier must be an independent third party to the client as well as to the commissioner, which means that the verifier can t be organisationally attached to the client or the commissioner. The verifier also needs to have participated in the 1-day Active House course (webinar) and taken part in the development (as commissioner) of at least three radars. The experience in radar evaluation (3 radars) must correspond to the type of project verified. For verification of new-build projects, it is required that the verifier has taken part in the development of 3 new-build radars. The same requirements are to be met for verification of renovation projects.
