Activating NVM-H/M Activating NVM-H/M Introduction Beginning in Voice Mail software version 9.08, the way features are added to a system has changed. To add the NVM-H/M Package to your system, you simply install feature upgrade software. This supplement provides instructions for installing the feature upgrade and activating the NVM-H/M feature. For all other information pertaining to the Hospitality feature, see the following document: The Setup Guide for NVM-2002 with NVM-H/M (P/N 17526HOSINS01 or higher)(ignore information for installing an NVM-H/M dongle). Tools and Materials Needed Important Note NVM-2000 Voice Mail with software version 9.08 or higher NVM Feature Upgrade for NVM-H/M Hospitality (P/N 17526A-HOS) to add Hotel/Motel to your system. A monitor and keyboard connected to the Voice Mail ESD Wrist Strap (to be worn on wrist and attached to a grounded metal object at all times) All work must be performed by a qualified technician. Activating NVM-H/M Upgrading the Feature Software Upgrading the Feature Software Upgrading the Feature Software Use the following procedure to activate NVM-H/M. When you are reading about the feature in the Setup Guide for NVM-2002 with NVM-H/M, make sure that you ignore any information regarding the NVM-H/M dongle. To install the Feature software: Note: Instructions assume you are using the Full Screen Editor. 1. From the Main Menu, select Exit. 2. Type the system password and press <Enter>. 3. Select Shutdown Voice Mail System to shut down the Voice Mail. 4. After the Voice Mail shuts down, turn off the system power. 5. Insert the NVM Feature Upgrade diskette (P/N 17526A-HOS) into the floppy drive of the Voice Mail. 6. Turn on the Voice Mail to boot the NVM Feature Upgrade diskette. You see: VOICE MAIL SYSTEM UPGRADE The Upgrade process is automatic and is performed in two (2) steps. Requiring the system to reboot once... Are you sure you want to apply this upgrade to this system? BEGINNING UPGRADE STEP 1. Please wait... 7. The system continually displays the progress of the first step in the upgrade. Watch the status of the upgrade on the monitor. You will see the following prompts as the upgrade progresses: MOVING AUTHORIZATION FROM A: TO C: EMOVE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY STEP 1 COMPLETED WARNING Before you install the Feature Upgrade make sure that this is the intended machine for its use. Do not turn off the Voice Mail without first shutting it down. If you do not shut down first, you may corrupt the Voice Mail database when you turn it off. 2 Issue 1-0

After rebooting, the system prompts continually displays the progress of the second step in the upgrade. Watch the status of the upgrade on the monitor. You will see the following prompts as the second step in the upgrade progresses: BEGINNING UPGRADE STEP 2. Please wait... Copying new upgrade fiels onto the voice mail system... The voice mail software upgrade is now complete. The voice mail system must be restarted for the changes to take effect. 9. Remove the Feature Upgrade diskette. 10. Write the serial number of the Voice Mail in the space provided on the label of the diskette. Keep the diskette with the Voice Mail System 11. Turn the power off and on to restart the Voice Mail.
