Wi-Fi Policy 1 Important information about Internet availability No guarantees can be made or liability accepted with regard to the functioning of exhibitor-provided and independently installed Internet equipment. (See also 5. Security) Due to the technical conditions at the congress center, wired Internet access is recommended for a reliable Internet and data connection. A reliable connection can only be guaranteed for a wired Internet connection. Wired Internet access: > Exclusive bandwidth per connection (full bandwidth available per connection) > Guaranteed availability with defined service level > Not susceptible to environmental influences* > Monitoring per connection - error monitoring and alarm alerts included > All Internet services available (e.g.: VPN, Skype, YouTube, social networks) Wireless LAN Internet access: > Easy to use even with mobile devices > For devices with built-in Wi-Fi capability > Shared bandwidth availability due to use of shared medium > Availability and speed limited by the use of open frequencies. Limitations may arise due to the following environmental factors and/or interference over which we have no control:
- Wireless input devices (keyboards, mice, ), Bluetooth transmission systems, remote controls - Wireless audio/video transmission systems, radio microphones, headphones, cordless telephones - Security cameras, alarm systems, motion detectors, microwaves, radar systems (weather radar). Please also note that at large events and technology-oriented events in particular, the increased presence of interfering frequencies in the congress center facility can result in restricted availability and reduced performance of the Wi-Fi networks. Our recommendation: For your commercial applications WiFi should be used as a supplement to wired Internet access. A wired Internet Access guarantees high bandwidth and availability! 2 General information about the Wi-Fi system With the Wi-Fi available at Messe Wien, you have the opportunity to obtain a wireless connection to the Internet for your laptop, tablet or smartphone. You need only an activated wireless card (Wi-Fi card) in your device and an Internet browser. Via the Internet access, it is then possible to perform Internet searches, read emails or establish a connection to company-specific networks (assuming your company network is properly configured for this). Due to the various construction methods for booths and/or exhibits, unavoidable reception limitations may arise. Basically, two types of Wi-Fi are available: > Advanced Wi-Fi > Free Wi-Fi 2.1 Advanced Wi-Fi > Available throughout the entire Messe Wien area > Bandwidths up to 1,3Gbps possible 22 available channels > (3 in 2,4-GHz-band and 19 in 5-GHz-band) > Wi-Fi standard 802.11a,g,n,ac > (up to 216 Mbps in the 2,4-GHz-band; up to 1,3 Gbps in the 5-GHz-band) > Bandwidth up to 1 Mbps per user if paid via credit card > (higher bandwidth available if pre-ordered) > Data prioritization compared to Free Wi-Fi > Registration required (with credit card payment or upon pre-order from Kapsch) > All standard services and applications available > Service support including hotline > Fee-based What options are available for purchasing an amount of time for advanced Wi-Fi? > On-site with credit card online > On-site via purchase of a Wi-Fi tickets (cash payment) > Upon pre-order with credit card or bank transfer at http://www.kapschbusiness.com/exhibition

No. After the first login, the purchased time is only available on the same calendar day; any remaining minutes expire at the end of the day. 4 General requirements and Wi-Fi settings 4.1 What are the requirements for connecting to the Wi-Fi network? > Free Wi-Fi:A Wi-Fi-capable device according to the standard 802.11 g (2.4 GHz) and a standard Web browser is mandatory. > Advanced Wi-Fi: A Wi-Fi-capable device according to the standard 802.11 a/g/n/ac (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) and a standard Web browser is mandatory. 4.2 Important configuration settings on the device: DHCP should be configured in the network settings and the proxy deactivated. Wi-Fi must be activated on the device.
4.3 Which network (SSID) to connect to? > Free Wi-Fi: SSID: Wi-Fi Free Messe > Advanced Wi-Fi: SSID: Messe Wi-Fi Advanced 4.4 Is it possible to use normal email programs (Outlook / Lotus Notes, etc.. ) without limitations? Yes, if the used e-mail server is accessible via the Internet. 5 Security and system integration Is the network secure? Please consider the security of your data! This is a publicly accessible Wi-Fi network without encryption. Data transmitted between your mobile device and the Wi-Fi network of Messe Wien could therefore possibly be viewed by third parties. The data traffic within the supplied Wi-Fi connection is NOT secure. The user is responsible for ensuring security (e.g. with a VPN client or data encryption). No liability is accepted. You are on the Internet, and you are therefore subject to potential dangers from viruses or other malware! Use of the Internet takes place at the user s own risk. Solely the user is responsible for damages attributable to the use of the Wi-Fi service, in particular for damages to the user s hardware or software as well as the loss of data. If you wish to transmit sensitive data, we recommend using a VPN access, which is only supported by the advanced Wi-Fi of Messe Wien. A stable VPN connection is only ensured with a wired Internet connection. For details on wired Internet connections, see: http://www.kapschbusiness.com/exhibition The user is obligated to check his system for current security patches and to activate the security settings recommended by the manufacturers on his systems as well as to take further precautions (firewall, virus protection, etc.). The user must comply with the most recent manufacturer recommendations with regard to service and security levels. The user is liable for damages resulting from failure to observe these security obligations. 6 Availability and potential disruptions 6.1 Is the Wi-Fi available on the entire grounds of Messe Wien? Wi-Fi is in principle available in all buildings of Messe Wien. 6.2 Can disruptions occur? Please note that particularly at large and technology-oriented events, the availability and performance of the Wi-Fi networks may be impaired due to the high volume of interfering radio signals. The availability and transmission speed depend heavily on the number of users and the distance from the Wi-Fi transmitter (access point). Disrupting influences can also be produced by multi-story stand structures, other networks, etc.
Impairments may result from the following environmental factors and other disruptive factors which cannot be influenced: Wireless input devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.), Bluetooth transmission systems, remote controls Wireless audio/video transmission systems, wireless microphones, headphones, cordless telephones Surveillance cameras, alarm systems, motion detectors, microwaves, radar systems (weather radar) Therefore no guarantee of a minimum quality and/or lack of disruption can be provided. User wireless devices: The function of the user s own, self-installed Internet devices and wireless devices cannot be guaranteed. Disruptions due to external influences including by systems operated at Messe Wien do not justify any liability whatsoever on the part of Messe Wien or the operators of the systems. If the operation of the user s own wireless systems of any kind results in a disruption of the systems of Messe Wien, they must be taken out of operation immediately upon instruction to do so. No costs will be reimbursed and no liability accepted. However, the user is liable for damages arising in this way for systems at Messe Wien. 7 Overviev of available products (selection) Internet option Messe Wien Internet via cable Internet via Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Advanced Bandwidth up to 20Mbps(*) up to up to 2Mbps(*) 1Mbps SSID Messe Wi-Fi Messe Wi-Fi Advanced Advanced Security (safety of transmitted data) Quality Level (stability high availabilty of data connection) High Performance (ordered bandwidth exclusively reserved) Internet http / www / port 80 Secure Internet https (e.g. onlinebanking, webmail) Social Media ( e.g. Facebook, Twitter ) according to Wi-Fi standards Wi-Fi Free up to 128kbps Wi-Fi Free Messe FTP (e.g. port 21) orderable/purchasable http://www.kapschbusiness.com/exhibition on-site online via credit card or Wi-Fi voucher on-site after registration via text message Availability every building at Messe Wien Foyer A+D +Mall+MCC (*) Higher bandwidth (up to 1Gbps) available at request

Technology Wi-Fi is a technology for wireless data transmission. The interfaces are equipped according to the existing Wi-Fi standard 802.11a/g/n/ac and enable a data transmission rate of up to 1.3 Gbps. In practice, these bandwidths cannot be achieved and may differ based on capacity utilization; therefore, no guarantee of a minimum data rate is possible. Especially in the area of congress and conference centers, a large number of simultaneous users within a small space can result in disruptions. This significantly limits the amount of bandwidth available to individual users, which can result in a considerable reduction of the data transmission speed. The frequency range used by Wi-Fi is unlicensed and is also used for other purposes. For this reason, NO guarantee is provided concerning the lack of disruptions or a minimum quality of the wireless transmission. 1.2. Limitation of liability Kapsch BusinessCom AG is liable for any personal injuries or material damages only insofar as statutory provisions, e.g. due to intent or gross negligence, or provisions of the Product Liability Act require a mandatory liability that cannot be excluded by agreement. All other liability is excluded; this includes liability for slight negligence, for claims arising from operating interruption damages, for data loss, software damage, lost profit as well as consequential and economic losses. 1.3. Operation of exhibitor Wi-Fi equipment For the operation of an exhibitor s own Wi-Fi transmitter, the exhibitor must comply with the following requirements: 1. The Wi-Fi transmitter (access point) may be operated exclusively on channel 36 in the 5 GHz frequency band) or channel 11 (in the 2.4 GHz frequency band). 2. The Wi-Fi transmitter must be set to the minimum transmission power so that the range extends no more than necessary beyond the stand of the exhibitor. However, the operation of an exhibitor s own Wi-Fi transmitter is not permitted if, despite compliance with the above requirements, disruptions to technical equipment of the congress center operations occur, in particular disruptions to the congress center Wi-Fi operated by the partner of the event organizer.
In the event of a disruption to technical equipment of the congress center operations due to operation of a Wi-Fi, the organizer is entitled to take all necessary measures up to and including deactivation of the supply systems for the stand (Internet, power) to ensure undisrupted operation of the technical equipment of the congress center operations. The exhibitor must follow the corresponding instructions of the organizer, switch off the Wi-Fi operated by the exhibitor if necessary and provide compensation for the expenses incurred in the locating and remedying of the disruption in the event of a violation of these rules.
