See the next section to learn about backup schedules. When Will Client Computer Backups Be Backed-up Online? 1 11/16/11
KeepVault has been designed to work with the Microsoft Client Computer Backup feature of your hardware. KeepVault monitors the schedule you have defined for your client backups (see screenshot below) and waits for those backups to finish before trying to protect any new files. Using the screenshot above as an example, KeepVault running in Always/Real Time mode would backup any new or changed Client Computer Backup between the hours of 3AM and 9PM. During this time, KeepVault disables the Microsoft Client Computer Backup service. **It is important that KeepVault disable this service. It ensures that client backup files are kept in- sync and maintains file integrity and continuity** 2 11/16/11
**If using KeepVault in Scheduled mode, set it to start at a time after the end time of the client computer backup schedule** Should KeepVault still be backing up new or changed client backups at the scheduled start time (9pm in this case), it will keep the Microsoft service disabled until it completes the backup. Again, this is important to ensure continuity of backup files. KeepVault automatically re- enables the Client Backup service upon completion of the backup. Depending on your upload bandwidth, initial backup online may take many days. However, once the initial backup is complete, only the portion of files that change will be backed up. This will significantly reduce the time to completion.
