1. Instruction for Use 1.1 Standing Position and Face Expressions 1. Recommended standing-distance from device: For users 5-6 feet tall (1.55m-1.85m), we recommend users stand about 2 feet (0.5m) from the device. When viewing your image on the device display window, step away if your image appears too bright. Step closer if your image appears too dark. Recommended using position for device: Recommended using methods (shown as right figures): During enrollment and verification, the installation position of device must remain the same. If need to move the device, keep the same installation height, or else, the recognition function will be poor. Usage Methods that influence the recognition: Too high Too low Too close Too far 2. Recommended posture vs Poor posture: Note: During enrollment and verification, try to have a relaxed face expression and stand upright. 3. Enrollment Face Expressions During enrollment, locating your head such way that your face appears in the center of the screen display window, and follow the voice prompts "Focus eyes inside the green box". The user needs to move forward and backward to adjust the eyes position during the face registration. The enrollment face expressions as follows: 1.2 Finger Placement Recommended fingers: The index finger, middle finger or the ring finger is recommended; the thumb and little finger are not recommended (because they are usually clumsy when pressing on the fingerprint sensor).the finger must be flat to the surface and centered on the fingerprint sensor. 1.3 Verification Modes 1.3.1 1:N fingerprint verification In fingerprint verification mode, the terminal compares current fingerprint collected by the fingerprint sensor with all fingerprint data on the terminal. On initial interface, press your finger on the fingerprint sensor by adopting the proper finger placement. For detail, see 1.2 Finger Placement. Successfully verified. Failed to verify. 1.3.2 1:1 fingerprint verification In the 1:1 fingerprint verification mode, the device compares current fingerprint collected by the fingerprint sensor with that in relation to the user ID entered through the keyboard. Adopt this mode only when it is difficult to recognize the fingerprint. Or Enter User ID and press fingerprint. Successfully verified. Failed to verify. 3

Note: 1. On the initial interface, enter user ID, and press fingerprint. If it says "invalid ID", it means that there is no such ID or the employee doesn t enroll fingerprint. 2. If the device says "Please try again", place the finger on the fingerprint sensor again. You can try another 2 times by default. If it fails after 3 times, return to the initial interface. 1.3.3 Password verification In the password verification mode, the device compares the password entered with that in relation to the user ID. Or Enter User ID on initial interface, then press [M/OK] to enter. Select "Password" and enter your password. Successfully verified. Failed to verify. Notes: If the device says "Incorrect password", enter the password again. You can try another 2 times by default. If it fails after 3 times, back to the initial interface. 1.3.4 1:N face verification The terminal compares current face image collected by the camera with all face data on the terminal. 4

On initial interface, compare face in a proper way Successfully verified 1.3.5 1:1 face verification In the 1:1 face verification mode, the device compares current face collected by the camera with that in relation to the user ID entered through the keyboard. Adopt this mode only when it is difficult to recognize the face. Enter User ID on initial interface, press [M/OK]. Select Face and press [M/OK] to enter. Compare the face in a proper way. Successfully verified. 5

2 Main Menu On initial interface, press [M/OK] to enter main menu. The main menu screen1 Press to enter the main menu screen2. Introduction of each functional menu: User Mgt.: Add, edit and delete user information, including user ID, name, user role, verification mode, fingerprint, FC, password and user photo. User Role: Set the privilege of defined role, that is, the privilege of operating menus. Comm.: Set related parameters of communication between attendance device and PC, including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS, TCP COMM. Port, DHCP, Comm. key and so on. System: Set system-related parameters, including date/time, attendance parameters, face parameters, fingerprint parameters, reset and USB upgrade, to enable the terminal to meet user requirements to the greatest extent in terms of functions and display. Personalize: Set related parameters of user interface, voice, bell schedules, punch state options and shortcut key mappings to meet user requirements to the greatest extent. Data Mgt.: Manage data in the device, such as delete data, backup data and restore data. USB Manager: Download and upload attendance data, user data, work code, short message etc. With USB disk, you can import user info and attendance data of the device into matched software for processing, or import them into other FP device to use. Attendance Search: This function is convenient for employee to search his attendance record and abnormal record saved in this device. Short Message: Add public or personal message. Public message will show to all users in stated time and the personal message will show to specified user after successfully verified. Work Code: Add work code. If enable work code function, you must select one type of work code or enter an inexistence work code after pressing fingerprint, password or face. 6

Autotest: Auto test if the function of each module is available, including test of LCD, voice, keyboard, fingerprint sensor, face and clock RTC. System Info: Check device capacity, device basic info and firmware info. 7

3.User Management 3.1 New User The basic user information contains user ID, name, user role, verification mode, fingerprint, face, password and user photo. During attendance management, user information in device needs to be modified along with the change of personnel. This attendance device provides operations of adding, deleting, searching and editing user. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select User Mgt. menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Press key to select New User and press [M/OK] to enter. 3.1.1 Enter User ID and Name Device automatically allocates an ID starting from 1 for every user in sequence. You can also manually input an ID: 1. For detail of operations on keyboard interface, see Appendix1 T9 Input. 2. The length of Name supports 23 characters at most. 8

User ID. Press numeric key to enter ID (press key to delete input.) and press [M/OK]. Name. Press to select an input method and enter Name with T9 Input. 3.1.2 Select User Role and Verification Mode User Role and press [M/OK] to enter. Press / key to select user role. Verification Mode and press [M/OK]. Press / key to select different verification mode. Note: Super Admin: A super admin is granted rights to operate all menus in addition to the fingerprint- and password- and face-based attendance recording. Normal User: Normal user is only allowed to record attendance through fingerprint, password or face verification and query attendance records. Not all devices have these fingerprint related verification modes. 3.1.3 Enroll a Fingerprint 9

Fingerprint and press [M/OK] to enter. Select the finger to be enrolled. Place the same finger on fingerprint sensor for three consecutive times correctly until enrollment succeed. Note: 1. For the methods of pressing fingerprint, see 1.2 Finger Placement. 2. If the enrollment fails, the system will say "Please try again", and you need to repeat the operations of step. 3.1.4 Enroll a Face 1. For the methods of face enrollment, see 1.1 Standing Position and face expressions. 2. During face enrollment, the system will take a photo and save in the device automatically when the green box moves to middle of the screen. Face and press [M/OK]. Focus eyes inside the green box as the device prompts,until enrollment success. 3.1.5 Enroll a Password 10

Password and press [M/OK] to enter. Input password with numeric keyboard and press [M/OK]. Re-type the password and press [M/OK]. The device supports 1-8 digits password by default. 3.1.6 Enroll Photo If you had enrolled photo, the system will display enrolled photo in addition to ID and name after you pass the verification. You need not take photo again if apply photo captured during face enrollment. User Photo, and press [M/OK] to enter. Stand before the screen naturally and press [M/OK] to take a photo. 3.2 Manage Users In company daily management, you need to update employee information in the device along with personnel change. You can add, delete, search, edit users in the device directly. 11

Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select User Mgt. menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Press key to select All User and press [M/OK] to enter. All users will display on this interface. 1. Edit User Enter user ID or name to locate the user and press [M/OK] to enter. Edit and press [M/OK] to enter edit interface. Operations of Edit are the same as that of adding New User. 2. Delete User Enter user ID or name to locate the user and press [M/OK] to enter. Delete and press [M/OK] to enter delete interface. You can delete all information of user or just delete single info. 12

3.3 Display Style You can change the display style of All Users on the screen as your preference, including single line, multiple lines and mixed line. You can view and select one style. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select User Mgt. menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Press key to select Display Style and press [M/OK] to enter. Select one style, and All Users interface will be arranged in this style. 13

4.User Role Set the privilege of defined role, that is, the privilege of operating menus. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select User Role menu and press [M/OK] to enter. You can create 3 User Defined Roles at most. Press key to select Enable Defined Role and press [M/OK]. Name and press [M/OK]. Input name of User Defined Role 1 with T9 Input. Define User Role and press [M/OK]. Press key to select the roles you need to enable and press [M/OK] to choose them. 14

5.Communication Setting Set Ethernet communication parameters between device and PC, including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS, TCP COMM. Port, DHCP and so on. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select Comm. menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Ethernet and press [M/OK] to enter. Set Ethernet related parameters as required. PC Connection and press [M/OK]. Set connection password and device ID. Parameters in Comm. interface state as following: IP Address: The IP address is 192.168.1.201 by default and can be changed as required. Subnet Mask: The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 by default and can be changed as required. Gateway: The gateway is 0.0.0.0 by default and can be changed as required. DNS: The DNS is 0.0.0.0 by default and can be changed as required. TCP COMM. Port: It is 4370 by default and can be changed as required. DHCP: ON or OFF. When set as ON, the device will automatically obtain an IP address. 15

Display in Status Bar: Set if the network icon displays in the status bar of initial interface. To enhance the security of attendance data, you can set a password for the connection between the device and PC. Once the password is set, you can connect the PC with the device to access the attendance data only after entering the correct password. Comm Key: The default password is 0 (that is, no password) and you can change it as required. Once a password is set, you need to enter this password before connecting the PC software with the device; otherwise, the connection is unsuccessful. 1 to 6 digits passwords are supported. Device ID: Serial Number of the device, ranges from 1~254. If the device is connected with PC in RS232/ RS485, you need to input the device ID in communication interface. 16

6.System Setting Set system-related parameters, including date/time, attendance parameters, face parameters, fingerprint parameters, reset and USB upgrade, to enable the device to meet user requirements to the greatest extent in terms of functions and display. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select System menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Date Time and press [M/OK]. 6.1 Date Time Set Date / Set Time: Set date and time of device. 24-Hour Time: Set time displays style on initial interface. Select ON, time displays in 24-Hour Time, and select OFF, time will display in 12-Hour Time. Date Format: Set date format displays on all interface of device. The system provides 10 formats and the default is YYYY-MM-DD. 6.1.1 Daylight Saving Time The Daylight Saving Time is a widely used system of adjusting the official local time forward to 17

save energy. The uniform time adopted during the implementation of this system is known as the DST. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour in the summer to make people early to bed and early to rise so as to make full use of illumination resources and save electricity. Clocks are adjusted backward in autumn. The specific DST regulations vary with countries. To meet the DST requirement, the device supports the DST function to adjust forward one hour at (Hour): (Minute) (Day) (Month) and backward one hour at (Hour): (Minute) (Day) (Month).For example, adjust the clock forward one hour at 08: 00 on April 1, and backward one hour at 08: 00 on October 1. On Date Time interface, press key to select Daylight Saving Time as ON. Daylight Saving Mode and press [M/OK] to select one mode. Daylight Saving Setup and press [M/OK]. Set the start date / time and end date / time of Daylight Saving Time. Note: The end time of DST cannot be set to next year. More specifically, the end time must be later than the start time in the same year. 6.2 Attendance Parameters And On System Menu, Press key to select Attendance and press [M/OK] to enter. Attendance interface shows as above figure 2. 18

Parameters on Attendance interface state as below: Duplicate Punch Period (m): In set time period (unit: minute), repeated attendance record of the same employee will not be saved (the valid time is 1~999999 minutes). Camera Mode: Set if capture and save the photo when employee verifies attendance in face mode. The setting is applied to everyone. Including below 5 modes: No Photo: The device does not take photo when employees verify. Take Photo, no save: Take photo, but not save photo when employees verify. Take photo and save: Take and save photo when employees verify. Save on successful verification: Take and save photo when employees verify successfully. Save on failed verification: Take and save photo when employees fail to verify. Display User Photo: Set if display user photo when user verifies successfully. Alphanumeric User ID: Set if User ID supports alphanumeric. User ID with alphanumeric is convenient to sort users and manage them. Attendance Log Alert: When remainder log capacity less than the set value, the device will prompts an alert message of remainder log automatically. The valid value is 1~9999. Cyclic Delete ATT Data: When Attendance records reach to the maximum capacity, the amount to delete attendance Data one time. The valid value is 1~999. Cyclic Delete ATT Photo: When Attendance photos reach to the maximum capacity, the amount to delete attendance photo one time. The valid value is 1~99. Confirm Screen Delay (s): The delay to display the verification result, the valid value is 1~9 Seconds. Face detect interval (s): Set interval of twice verification for the same face, valid value is 0~9 seconds. Expiration Rule: When select ON, you can choose below 3 expiration rules: Keep user, No audit future punch / Keep user, and audit future punch / Delete user. 6.3 Face Parameters 19

Press key to select Face and press [M/OK] to enter. Face interface shows as above figure 2. 1: 1 Match Threshold: This parameter is used to set the threshold of matching between the current face and the face template enrolled in the device in the 1:1 verification mode. If the similarity between the current face and the face template enrolled in the device is larger than this threshold, the matching is successful; otherwise, the matching is fail. The valid value scope is 55~120. The higher the threshold, the lower the FAR and the higher the FRR are, and vice versa. 1: N Match Threshold: This parameter is used to set the threshold of matching between the current face and the face template enrolled in the device in the 1: N verification mode. If the similarity between the current face and the face template enrolled in the device is larger than this threshold, the matching is successful; otherwise, the matching is fail. The valid value scope is 65~120. The higher the threshold, the lower the FAR and the higher the FRR are, and vice versa. The recommended thresholds are as follows: Threshold FRR FAR 1: N 1:1 High Low 85 80 Medium Medium 82 75 Low High 80 70 Exposure: This parameter is used to set the exposure value of camera. 300 by default, and valid value ranges from 40 to 1000. Quality: This parameter is used to set a quality threshold for the face images obtained. The device accepts the face images and processes them by adopting the face algorithm when their quality is higher than the threshold; otherwise, it filters these face images. The default value is 80 (valid value scope is 50~150). Note: Improper adjustment of the Exposure and Quality parameters may severely affect the performance of the device. Please adjust the Exposure and Quality parameter only under the guidance of after-sales service personnel from our company. 20

6.4 Fingerprint Parameters Press key to select Fingerprint and press [M/OK] to enter. Fingerprint interface shows as above figure 2. 1: 1 Match Threshold: This parameter is used to set the threshold of matching between the current fingerprint and the fingerprint template enrolled in the device in the 1:1 verification mode. If the similarity between the current fingerprint and the fingerprint template enrolled in the device is larger than this threshold, the matching is successful; otherwise, the matching is not successful. 1: N Match Threshold: This parameter is used to set the threshold of matching between the current fingerprint and the fingerprint template enrolled in the device in the 1: N verification mode. If the similarity between the current fingerprint and the fingerprint template enrolled in the device is larger than this threshold, the matching is successful; otherwise, the matching is not successful. The recommended thresholds are as follows: FRR FAR Threshold 1: N 1: 1 High Low 45 25 Medium Medium 35 15 Low High 25 10 FP Sensor Sensitivity: Set the fingerprint sensor sensitivity. It is recommended to use the default value Medium. When dryness results in slow reactions of the fingerprint sensor, you may set this option to High to enhance the fingerprint sensor's sensitivity. When high humidity results in illegible fingerprint images, you may set this option to Low. 1:1 Retry Times: In 1:1 fingerprint or password verification, user may forget the enrolled finger or the password, or the finger is placed improper. To reduce press keyboard repeatedly, the device allows retry after failed verification. Fingerprint Image: This parameter is used to set whether to display the fingerprint image on the 21

screen during fingerprint enrollment or comparison. It has four options: Show for enroll, Show for match, Always show, None. 6.5 Reset Reset communication settings, system settings, personalize settings etc. to factory status. Note: The reset operation will not clear users information and attendance data in the device. 6.6 USB Upgrade By this option, the firmware program of device can be updated with upgrade package in USB disk 1. If you need this upgrade package, please contact with technical support engineer. In general, it is not suggest upgrading firmware. 2. Only devices with USB disk function can do USB upgrade. 22

7.Personalize Setting Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select Personalize menu and press [M/OK] to enter. User Interface and press [M/OK]. 7.1 User Interface User can set display style of main screen according to his preference. And On Personalize interface, select User Interface and press [M/OK] to enter above user interface. Wallpaper: User can select the wallpaper of main screen as required. Language: User can select the language of device as required. Menu Screen Timeout (s): When time of do-nothing operation in menu interface is larger than this setting value, the system will return to initial interface automatically. The valid value scope is 60~99999 seconds. Idle Time To Slide Show (s): When time of do-nothing operation in main screen is larger than this setting value, the main screen will display a slide show. The valid 23

value scope is 3~999 seconds. Slide Show Interval (s): Set interval to change displayed pictures in the slide show, the valid value scope is 3~999 seconds. Idle Time To Sleep (m): When time of do-nothing operation reaches to the setting value, the device will go to sleep. Pressing any keyboard or fingerprint will wake the device. The valid value scope is 1~999 minutes. Main Screen Style: Select the location and distribution of clock and status buttons displayed in main screen. You can select one style as required (3 styles for selection). 7.2 Voice Setting Press key to select Voice and press [M/OK]. Voice interface shows as above figure 2. Voice Prompt: Select if the device prompts voice during operating. Select ON, prompt voice when operate; select OFF, no voice prompt. Keyboard Prompt: Select if make a sound when press keyboard. Select ON, make a sound when press keyboard; select OFF, no sound. Volume: Set the volume of voice prompt. 7.3 Bell Schedule Lots of companies need to ring their bells to signal the start and end of work shifts, and they usually manually ring their bells or use electric bells. To lower costs and facilitate management, we integrate the time bell function into the attendance device. You can set the alarm start time and duration for ringing the bell based on your requirements, so that the attendance machine will automatically play the selected ring tone, and stop playing the ring tone after the set duration. 1. Bell Schedules and press [M/OK] to enter New Bell Schedule and press [M/OK]. Set new bell status, time, repeat date, ring tong and interval. Options in figure3 state as below: Bell Status: Select if enable the bell. Bell Time: Set a time point of one day or several days from Monday to Sunday when the device automatically plays a bell ring tone. Repeat: Set if the bell repeats from Monday to Sunday. Ring Tone: Select a bell ring tone. Interval bell delay (s): Set the time length of bell ringing. The valid value scope is 1~999 seconds. 2. Edit Bell All Bell Schedules and press [M/OK]. Press / key to select the bell you want to edit (such as Bell 12:00) and press [M/OK] to enter. Press / key to select Edit and press [M/OK] to enter. Edit interface is the same as that of new adding, you can modify bell setting as required. 3. Delete Bell 25

Press / key to select Yes and press [M/OK] to delete this bell. 7.4 Punch State Options Punch State Options and press [M/OK]. Press / key to select each option and press [M/OK] for setting. Select one punch state mode as required. Punch State Mode: Select one mode of punch state key (that is, switching punch state by pressing corresponding shortcut key). Including following several modes: Off: Disable the punch state key function. Punch state keys setting in Shortcut Key Mappings will not take effect. Manual Mode: User manually switches punch state by pressing corresponding shortcut key, and the switched punch state will disappear after reaching to Punch State Timeout. Auto Mode: After select the auto mode, you need to set the switch time for punch state in Shortcut Key Mappings. The set punch states will auto switch when reaching switch time. 26

Manual and Auto Mode: In this mode, main screen display punch state that auto switched, and support manually switch punch state too. After reaching the Punch State Timeout, the punch state of manually switched will return to that of auto switched. Manual Fixed Mode: After user manually switches the punch state, it will keep this state until next manual switch. Fixed Mode: Only display the setting fixed punch state and cannot be switched. Punch State Timeout (s): The time of one punch state displays on initial interface. When reaching the setting time, the punch state will disappear or switch to other punch states depending on the Punch State Mode you selected. The valid value scope is 5~999 seconds. Punch State Required: Set if select punch state when verify. Note: The attendance device has four punch states: Check-In, Check-Out, Overtime-In, Overtime-Out by default. 7.5 Shortcut Key Mappings Define functions of shortcut keys. You can define / / / / [ESC] / [M/OK] keys as punch state keys or menu function keys. On initial interface, you can press shortcut keys to display corresponding punch state or enter corresponding menu interface rapidly. Shortcut Key Mappings and press [M/OK] to enter. Press / key to select one key and press [M/OK] to enter for defining. Press / key to select each option and press [M/OK] to set. Options in figure 3 state as below: Only when select Function as Punch State Options, will Punch State Value, Name, Set Switch Time options will appear on the interface. If select Function as other option, there will no Punch State Value, Name, Set Switch Time 27

options on the interface. Punch State Value: The device set 4 different values corresponding to four punch states by default. Value 0 corresponds to punch state Check-In, 1 for Check-Out, 4 for Overtime-In, 5 for Overtime-Out. You can also set other punch state value, the valid value ranges from 0 to 250. Function: Select punch state options or menu function options. Name: Enter name of punch state. Set Switch Time: Set switch time for punch state. When Punch State Mode in Punch State Options interface is set as Auto Mode or Manual and Auto Mode, punch state will be switched automatically after reaching the set switch time. Note: 1. When Function of shortcut key is set as Punch State Option, the punch state can be set as auto switch in Punch State Options interface. Auto switch means that punch state will be switched automatically after reaching the setting switch time. 2. Select Function of shortcut key as Punch State Option. The shortcut key will not take effect if Punch State Mode in Punch State Options interface is set as OFF. (For detail setting, please refer to 7.4 Punch State Options.) 28

8.Data Management Manage data saved in the device, such as delete attendance data, delete all data, delete admin role, delete wallpaper, backup data and restore data etc. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select Data Mgt. menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Delete Data and press [M/OK] to enter. 8.1 Delete Data And Options on Delete Data interface state as below: Delete Attendance Data: Delete all attendance data. Delete Attendance Photo: Delete all users attendance photos. Delete Blacklist Photo: Delete captured and saved photos when verification failed. Delete All Data: Delete all enrolled users information, fingerprints, attendance records, short messages and work codes etc. Delete Admin Role: Change all administrators into normal users. Delete Wallpaper: Delete all wallpapers in the device. Delete Screen Savers: Delete all screen savers of the device. Delete Backup Data: Delete data backup to the device. 8.2 Backup Data Backup the business data or system data to the device or to USB disk. Backup Data and press [M/OK] to enter. Backup Notes and press [M/OK] to input notes with T9 Input. Backup Start and press [M/OK] to start backup. Note: When Select Backup to USB Disk in above figure, you need to insert USB Disk into the device first, and then press [M/OK] to backup data to USB disk. 30

9.USB Manager The device allows downloading user data and attendance data to a USB disk, so that the data can be processed by proper attendance software or be imported to other attendance devices. Also, user data from other devices can be uploaded to this device. Before downloading and uploading, insert USB disk to USB slot of the device. Then operate USB Manager menu option. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select USB Manager and press [M/OK] to enter. Download and press [M/OK] to enter. 9.1 Download And Options on Download interface state as below: Attendance Data: Download attendance data sorted by time range into USB disk. User Data: Download all user data, fingerprint into USB disk. User Portrait: Download all users photos took by the device into USB disk. 32

Attendance Photo: Download attendance photos sorted by time range into USB disk, the format of attendance photo is.jpg. Blacklist Photo: Download attendance blacklist photos into USB disk, format of blacklist photo is.jpg. Work Code: Download all work codes into USB disk. Short Message: Download all created short messages into USB disk, including public, personal and drafts messages. 9.2 Upload On USB Manager interface, press key to select Upload and press [M/OK] to enter. Upload parameters show as above figure 2. Parameters on Upload interface state as below: User Data: Upload user data and fingerprints saved in USB disk to the device. User Portrait: Upload.jpg photos named after user ID to the device, these users photos can be previewed on device. You need to select "Upload selected picture" or "Upload all pictures" when upload user portrait. After upload successfully, the device will display user s photo once verify successfully. Upload work code: Upload all work code saved in USB disk to the device. After upload successfully, the device can apply these work code. Short Message: Upload all short messages saved in USB disk to the device. Screen Saver: Upload screen saver saved in USB disk to the device, these screen savers can be previewed on device. You can select "Upload selected picture" or "Upload all pictures" when upload screen saver. After upload successfully, the main interface will display these screen savers. (About format of screen saver, please refer to Appendix 2 Rules to upload picture.) Wallpaper: Upload wallpapers saved in USB disk to the device, these wallpapers can be previewed 33

on device. You can select "Upload selected picture" or "Upload all pictures" during uploading. After upload successfully, you can set these wallpapers displayed on main screen. (About format of wallpaper, please refer to Appendix 2 Rules to upload picture.) 9.3 Set download options In Download Options interface, you can select if encrypt attendance data, and if delete attendance data after downloading. 10.Attendance Search After verified successfully, users attendance records will be saved in the device. Attendance Search function is convenient for employee to search his attendance record and abnormal record. 1. Search Attendance Record Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter the Main Menu. Press / key to select Attendance Search and press [M/OK]. Press key to select Attendance Record and press [M/OK]. Input User ID to be searched, query all data without input. Press [M/OK] to continue. Time Range and press [M/OK] to enter. one date and press [M/OK] to view detail. Detail attendance records that meet query requirement show as above. User ID: ID of user to be queried. It will query all users attendance data without input. Time Range: Select time range to be queried, including: today, yesterday, this week, last week, this month, last month, all, user defined time. 2. Search attendance photo and blacklist attendance photo The Operation methods of searching attendance photos and blacklist attendance photos are the same 35

as that of searching attendance records. You can refer to 1. Search Attendance Record in this chapter for detail. 36

11.Short Message In this menu option, you can add, edit and delete public or personal message. You can also save message as draft. In assigned time, the public message will display to all users at the bottom of main screen, and personal message will display to specified user after his successful verification. 11.1 Add and view new message 1. Add new message Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter Main Menu. Press / key to select Short Message menu and press [M/OK]. Press key to select New Message and press [M/OK] to enter. Input message content, start date / time and expired time. Press key to select Message Type and press [M/OK] Press key to Select one message type as required. When select message type as Personal, press key to select Recipient and press [M/OK] to enter. Select one user or multiple users whom will receive this personal message. Expired Time (m): Time of message expired, calculated from the Start Time you input. The valid value of Expired Time ranges from 1 to 65535 minutes. You can also set the message Never Expire, that is, the message will display always. Only when select Personal in Message Type, you need to set and. When select Public or Draft in Message Type, you can skip and. 2. View new message Public message will display at bottom of main screen in assigned time. Personal message will appear after user verified successfully in assigned time. 11.2 Edit and delete message Take editing and deleting public message as an example: Public Messages and press [M/OK]. 12.Work Code Salary is based on attendance. There are many work types for employees. An employee may have different work type in different time period. Different work types have different pays. Therefore, in order to distinguish different attendance states when user is dealing with attendance data, the device has provided a parameter to mark which attendance record belongs to which work type. Work codes are downloaded together with attendance records. Users can use relevant data based on the specific attendance software. 12.1 Add Work Code Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter Main Menu. If exceed this time, interface of input work code will back to initial interface. The duration for input work code is called Input Screen Timeout. Valid value ranges from 1 to 65535 seconds. 41

13.Autotest Auto test if the function of each module is available, including test of LCD, voice, keyboard, fingerprint sensor, face and clock RTC. And Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter Main Menu. Press / key to select Autotest menu and press [M/OK] to enter. Press key to select one item to be tested and press [M/OK] to test automatically. Test All: Test all functions of LCD, voice, keyboard, fingerprint sensor, face, clock RTC. During Testing, press [M/OK] to continue with next item, press [ESC] to quit testing. Test LCD: Autotest display effect of TFT color screen. Check if display of throughout the screen is normal by making the screen displays color, white and black. During Testing, press [M/OK] to continue, press [ESC] to quit. Test Voice: Autotest effect of voice prompt. By playing voice files in the device, it can test if voice files are integrity and voice effect is good. During Testing, press [M/OK] to continue, press [ESC] to quit. Test Keyboard: Autotest if each key on keyboard is normal work. On Test Keyboard interface, press any key to check if key symbol displayed on screen is corresponding to the key pressed. The pressed key is in yellow, other non-pressed keys are in grey black. Press [M/OK] or [ESC] to quit. Test Fingerprint Sensor: Autotest if fingerprint sensor is normal work. By press fingerprint to check the collected FP image and distinguish if the FP image is clear and available. Press fingerprint on the FP sensor, screen will display the collected FP image real-time. Press [M/OK] or [ESC] to quit. Test Face: Autotest if camera is normal work. Check if the captured photo is clear and available. Press [M/OK] or [ESC] to quit. Test Clock RTC: By testing stopwatch to check if Clock RTC is normal work. Press [M/OK] to start timing and press [M/OK] again to end, then check if the device timing is accuracy. Press [ESC] to quit. 43

14.System Info In System Info menu, you can check storage capacity and version information of the device. Press [M/OK] key on initial interface to enter Main Menu. 15.Appendix Appendix 1 T9 Input T9 input (intelligent input) is quick and high efficient. The device support T9 English and symbol input. There are 3 or 4 English letters on numeric keys (2~9), for example, A, B, C are on numeric key 2. Press the corresponding key once, and the program will generate effective spelling. By using T9 input, names, user roles, work codes, SMS content and some symbols can be input. Press [M/OK] to auto open T9 Input where needs to input text or characters. Press key to switch Input methods, and press [ESC] to quit. Take Input name as an example: Press key to switch input methods: mixed case, upper case, lower Case, number and symbol. Press key to select mixed case [Aa], press numeric key 5 once to get letter J. Press numeric key 2 once to get letter a. Again, press numeric key 2 three times to get letter c. Appendix 2 Rules to upload picture 1. User Photo: First create a directory named "photo" in the root directory of USB disk, and then put user photos in the directory. Max capacity of the directory is 8000 photos. The size of each photo is smaller or equal 15K. Name of photo is X.jpg (X represents User ID, which does not limit digits). The format of photo must be.jpg. 2. Screen Saver: First create a directory named "advertise" in the root directory of USB disk, and then put screen savers in the directory. Max capacity of the directory is 20 pictures. The size of each screen saver is smaller or equal 30K. There is no limit on name and format of the screen saver. 3. Wallpaper: First create a directory named "wallpaper" in the root directory of USB disk, and then put wallpapers in the directory. Max capacity of the directory is 20 pictures. The size of each wallpaper is smaller or equal 30K. There is no limit on name and format of the wallpaper. It supports format of jpg, png, bmp etc. Note: If the size of each user photo and attendance photo is smaller or equal 10K, the device can store 10000 user photos and attendance photos in total.
