Step Open Internet Explorer and type in the following URL: http://peterson.calstate.edu:8080/hyperion/browse/login The Hyperion Login screen will display. Enter your User Id and Password > click on the LOGIN button. 3 Step The Browse Module is displayed. Listed in the Navigation pane are the folders that are available for your use. This is the Navigation pane This is the Content pane The Navigation and Content panes can be resized by positioning the cursor over the edge of the pane until the cursor becomes a double head arrow. Step 3 To generate reports from the FIRMS data, click on the following folders: BUDGET > Campus Firms Budget Queries. A list of the items in the Campus Firms Budget Queries folder will display in the Content pane. These items include: Final Budget Validation To view the FIRMS final budget data before submitting the file the Chancellor s Office Final Budget Campus To view the FIRMS final campus budgets that have been submitted Final Budget Systemwide To view the FIRMS final campus budgets that have been submitted systemwide Year End Summary SW To view a year-end summary systemwide file To select an item (query), click on the bqy associated with the item name. Initial Process The first time this URL is accessed from a desktop computer, a brief installation procedure will be executed which will download and install a java applet on your desktop computer. Click on With Help Files > click on the begin button. Once this installation is completed, it will not occur again. Initial Process (continued) The Security Warning dialog box will display. Click on Always trust content from HYPERION SOLUTIONS CORPORATION > click on the Yes button. The Setup dialog box will display with a message that the client has been successfully installed. Click on the OK button. Step 4 The item selected will display. Click on Query > Process button to process your data. You may be prompted to select various limits for processing. The limit option enables you to narrow your request from which your query will search for a match. An example of the Limit box is shown below where the limit selected for Activity Period Number is equal to 0008. To select the limit value, click on the Show Values button > select the value > click on the OK button. 3 Page 5 June 005

Step 4 (continued) The pivot selected will display. A pivot is a summarization of your data in a meaningful report. To scroll up or down To display another pivot, click on the pivot. To scroll to the right You can download your report in Excel format. To download your report select File > Export > Section. 3 Page 7 June 005
