INTRODUCTION About The DXE-122A 1x2 HDMI and DXE-142A 1x4 HDMI 2.0A 4K Splitters with Auto EDID Management provides one of the most advanced HDMI splitter solutions by which the Ultra High Definition video and high quality audio can be transmitted to multiple locations without losing quality. The DXE-122A and DXE-142A support all 3D formats and true 4K2K video. EDID management can be one of the most important capabilities to a splitter. Taking it one step further Aurora has added the ability to customize EDID for complete EDID emulation. This allows full control over the source and what it will be allowed to do. The DXE splitters have firmware upgrade capability via the USB port ensures compatibility now and in the future. With 48bit deep color video and high definition audio support, the DXE-122A and DXE-142A are suitable for high quality HDMI broadcasting, conference room, digital signage and education applications. Features Supports HDMI 2.0A Deep Color & 3D / DVI 1.0 compliant HDCP 1.4/2.2 compliant Wide frequency range: 25MHz~600MHz Video bandwidth: 18Gbps Resolution up to 4K2K @ 60Hz Auto EDID Management EDID Emulation & Customizable EDID Supports xvycc, x.v.color & Deep Color Mini-USB port for firmware updating & EDID Setup Supports Dolby Digital, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio HDMI & Power Connectors on same side for easy installation Ultra-low profile to fit behind displays * Refer to Technical Specifications Section. 2

Front & Rear Panel Front Power indicator - Illuminate red once powered on. Input HDCP compliant Indicator - Indicates the HDCP compliant status of the input signal Iluminate green when the input signal is HDCP Blink green when the input signal is not HDCP Remain off when there is no input signal Output signal Indicators - Illuminates green when there is an HDMI output corresponding to the HDMI Outputs Firmware - USB port, used for firmware update. Note: Output HDCP compliant status depends on input signal. When the input signal is with HDCP, then output signal is with HDCP and vice versa. Rear IN - HDMI input port to connect with HDMI or DVI source device such as laptop or Blu-ray. OUT HDMI output ports, connect to HDMI displays, automatically capture the input resolution DC 5V - Power connector for the DC 5V power adapter. 3

SYSTEM CONNECTION The following diagram illustrates typical input and output connections that can be utilized with 4K HDMI Splitter. HDTV DVD HDTV Connection Procedures Step1. Connect a HDMI/ DVI source device (e.g. Blue-ray DVD) to the HDMI INPUT of the 4K HDMI Splitter with an HDMI cable. Step2. Connect HDMI display(s) to HDMI OUTPUT(S) of the 4K HDMI Splitter with an HDMI cable. Step3. Plug the DC 5V power adapter to the power connector of the 4K HDMI Splitter. Note: All the ports support hot-plug. It s important to know that hot plugging a display may result in a quick noise shown on the display(s). 4

EDID MANAGEMENT The EDID management helps distributing and routing signals from the source at the resolution of the first detected display. The display connected to output 1 will be the EDID that is utilized for the input to the source. It will only do this once at power on or until input 1 is connected for the first time after power on. If a different output device is swapped with port 1 then a power recycle may be necessary to acquire the new EDID. For example: when output 1 connects with a 1080p display, the Splitter will select 1080p as output resolution and distribute 1080p signal to displays connected to output 1~2 as a result of the source using the EDID. Note: If the display connected to output 2 don t support 1080p signal, there will be no output on the display. EDID Setup Below are the commands available to manage the EDID capabilities. The EDID can be downloaded, uploaded, set to a built in stored default (10 locations), and viewed. 1. Connect the splitter s min USB to PC via USB cable 2. Execute Hercules, choose the right COM port, Baud rate is 57600. 5

3. Send ESave + ID(01 to 10) %, to upload customized EDID. 4. Choose the customized EDID files (.bin format) and upload steps as follows 6

5. System feed back 6. Send EInfo% to query the current stored EDID information. Null means no upload any EDID. 7

7. Send ECall + ID(00 to 10)% to choose the EDID. When 00 was selected, means to restore factory default without clear all the uploaded EDID information. 8. Send EState% to check which EDID was used currently 9. Send ERemove% to clear all the stored EDID and reset to manufacturer EDID manage. 10. Send ERemove EPxTxx% to store output x (1 to 4) 's EDID to xx (xx=01~10). 8
