A green status light indicates that the device is ready for treatment; an amber status light indicates that the device does not have enough charge for a treatment. Note: the status light guide is on the back of the charging case. Charge the OrthoPulse to be sure that the device is fully charged before delivering to a patient. A full charge takes approximately six hours using the enclosed micro USB cable and wall adaptor. 2 BEFORE YOU START YOUR FIRST PATIENT Patient compliance with OrthoPulse can be easily monitored using OrthoPulse Connect. OrthoPulse Connect is a browser-based software for managing OrthoPulse patients and can be used to sync devices using a Cassia Bluetooth Gateway. OrthoPulse Connect requires the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox. orthopulse.com/connect! In order to activate OrthoPulse for patient use, the patient must be added to OrthoPulse Connect. 3
3 STARTING AN ORTHOPULSE PATIENT 1 2 Add the patient to the app by clicking on Add a new patient in the top right corner. We recommend that this is done while the patient is in the chair as the patient will receive an automatic welcome email with their own OrthoPulse ID and a link to the OrthoPulse app. Once you enter all the patient s details, a message will appear with directions to pair the device. Pick up the OrthoPulse device and place it back on the charging case. This initiates Bluetooth mode, indicated by a solid purple status light. The device will be available to sync for 60 seconds. If the purple status light turns off, lift up the device and place it back on the charging case to re-initiate Bluetooth mode. Tip: If you have trouble syncing the device you may also choose to type in the serial number of the device in order to pair it. 4
3 STARTING AN ORTHOPULSE PATIENT 3 Demonstrate for the patient how to use OrthoPulse ; this could be a 10-second partial treatment on one arch or a full 10-minute treatment. We recommend that you have the patient watch the How to Use and Care video and review the Quick Start and User Guide, which are available at orthopulse.com/go. OrthoPulse is a 5-minute treatment per arch for a total of 10 minutes, once per day. For technical assistance and any concerns specifically related to the OrthoPulse and its accessories patients can visit: orthopulse.com/go! 4 If the patient brought an ios or Android device, we recommend you help the patient download the app and sync their device at your practice. In order to sync, the patient will need access to wifi. The tutorial is available in the app for the patient s reference. When the patient was added to the app, they should have received a welcome email instructing them on how to set up the app for their personal use. If the patient does NOT have access to a compatible mobile device, instruct them to bring their OrthoPulse to every appointment so that it may be synced. Devices have a limited memory and can store data for up to approximately 60 days. Syncing is crucial for archiving complete treatment history and tracking compliance. 5
