Introduction
EU roaming regulations From 15 June 2017 our charges for roaming are changing, making it easier and more cost-effective for customers to use their mobile abroad. Charges in our European zones are changing specifically to align with new legislation being introduced by our regulator Ofcom this summer. These changes are designed to provide customers with clear and transparent pricing, as well as predictability and choice when using our mobile services internationally. This means that roaming charges will be abolished in Europe zone 1. Changes are also being made to the way we charge for calls across our European and Rest of World Zones, so we ll be sharing a roaming map soon to show how these changes affect your customers. Please note: there are some important differences between the roaming proposition for Small Business customers and SME/Large corporate customers, which are explained in this update. Read on to find out how these changes will affect you and your customers.
Background 2015 EU introduced a 2-Phase Plan to abolish roaming in the EU 2016 Phase 1 was launched on 30 April 2016 (to reduce the pence per minute cost in Europe Zone 1) 2017 Phase 2 will be launched on 15 June 2017
Overview Who do these changes impact? Our entire mobile base will be impacted by these changes. There will be different product and pricing changes implemented by customer base. The SMB base will see a different set of changes to SME/Large Corporate customers. How are we notifying our customers? From the beginning of May customers will start receiving notifications advising them of the key changes happening in June 2017. We will send an email or a letter advising customers of the changes relevant to them, and an SMS to single-ctn accounts. Need to Know: The EU regulatory changes won t come into effect until 15 June 2017, until then existing bundles & pricing are still in place.

2017 EU regulatory: key changes for the SMB base European roaming changes Regulation states that as of 15 June 2017 operators will only be able to charge customers, roaming within Europe Zone 1 their domestic UK charges. For CBU (CTR tariffs) & SMB (Business Premier Tariffs included) we will offer ZONE 1 AND 2 as part of our proposition which is fantastic news for our customers as we are offering them more so they can roam for less! Because of the above changes, as of 15 June 2017, EuroTraveller will no-longer be charged for, instead domestic UK charges will apply. World roaming changes We re also simplifying our roaming proposition in our World zone by replacing World Traveller with our latest roaming service - Global Roaming, to simplify our charges in our World Zone. Global Roaming will be available on the following plans, from 15 June 2017: Red Plans: 4G Red, Red, Red+, Red Business Essentials, RED Essentials, RED Extra, RED Entertainment, Red Bundle, Red Value Bundle, With Vodafone Global Roaming customers will be able to use their UK allowance whether minutes, texts, or data anywhere in our World Zone for just 5/day.
... What does this mean for customers on CTR or SMB price plans? Allowance A customer s UK allowance, whether minutes, texts, picture messages, or data Zones Can be used in our Europe Zones 1 & 2 from 15 June 2017 Charge Will be classed as domestic UK usage. If a customer exhausts their UK allowance while roaming in our European Zones they will be charged UK out of bundle rates. Remember: Non-standard calls will still be charged for (such as: non-geo, premium rate, directory enquires). Non-Geo bundles will not work when a customer is roaming within Europe Zones 1 & 2. All other international call bundles will continue to work (i.e. Vodafone International/ Call Abroad etc.) this will give customers a reduced international rate when calling from Europe to ROW.
An update to WorldTraveller For our consumer tariffs, (i.e. CTR Red, Red Value, Red Value Bundles etc.) WorldTraveller will be re-named to Vodafone Global Roaming. Global Roaming will be integrated into our CTR tariffs, which means it will now become compulsory (i.e. it cannot be removed) for all customers on these tariffs. This is great news for our customers, as it means they can roam within the countries listed below, Taking Their Home Tariff Abroad for only 5 a day! Global Roaming Countries: Take your home tariff abroad, for just 5 a day! 2017 EU Regulatory: key changes for the SME/large+ base Regulation states that as of 15 June 2017 operators will only be able to charge customers, roaming within Europe Zone 1 their domestic UK charges. EuroTraveller will still be charged at 2.50/day in Europe Zone 2.
