Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions. 10. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 11. Do not bypass the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade and the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. 12. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 13. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 14. Do not leave the battery near the fire or under an environment over 60 ºC (such as under direct sunlight in the car), otherwise it may damage the protection circuit of the battery and cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. 15. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 16. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Do not short-circuit the positive and negative electrode with wire or other metal objects, otherwise it may cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Do not store or transport the battery with metal objects (such as necklace or hair grip), otherwise it may cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Do not heat the battery or throw it into fire, otherwise it may damage the safety valve or the protection circuit of the battery and may cause fire or explosion. Do not put the battery in the water or moisten the electrode of the battery, otherwise it may corrode the battery and cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Be careful to put the battery into the charging case with correct electrode position, otherwise it may cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Do not leave the battery near the fire or under an environment over 60 ºC (such as in the car from direct sunlight), otherwise it may damage the protection circuit of the battery and cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Please charge the battery with the dedicated base plate, using other charging unit may cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Please use the battery in assigned unit, otherwise it may cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. Do not drop or shock the battery, otherwise it may damage the protection circuit of the battery and cause fire, explosion, leakage or heat generation. If battery contents get into eyes it may cause blurred vision. DO NOT rub. Rinse with clear water immediately and consult a doctor. If the battery leaks onto skin or clothing, wash the area immediately with clean water to avoid skin injury and fabric damage. It will result in low battery and may damage the battery if the battery is not used for a long time. Please fully charge the battery for every three months. IV

Chapter 1 System introduction 1.1 Overview TAIDEN extends its portfolio of wireless conferencing solutions by launching a compact complement, HCS-5335 series Digital Infrared Wireless Conference System. Its performance stays true to its predecessor but features ingenious integration by combining the transceiver and the control unit together. No changes or further holes need to be made in the meeting rooms to be equipped thanks to its wireless transmission of audio signals and tabletop/on-tripod installation of the new main unit, making the system an ideal solution for small to medium sized multipurpose rooms or historical buildings. The system consists of one digital infrared wireless conference combo unit, one digital audio power amplifier and up to 200 digital infrared wireless conference units. Figure 1.1 System overview 1

1.2 Functions and features Based on TAIDEN originated diratc-digital infrared Audio Transmitting and Control technologies Digital infrared audio processing and transmitting technologies ensure superb sound quality: Freq. Response: 20 Hz to 20 khz S/N: >85 dba THD: <0.06% IR transmission technology, no worries about eavesdropping and radio interference, no RF radiation Privacy guaranteed by infrared transmission Unlimited quantity of infrared wireless conference systems within a building Easy to setup, move and remove, no wiring or drilling, perfect solution for historic venues Thanks to tabletop installation and ceiling reflection, especially suitable for small to medium-sized conference rooms with a light-colored ceiling not exceeding 5 meters Audio, control and power signals all transmitted over a single Cat.5 cable from the highly-integrated main unit with infrared receiver and a built-in digital signal processor Adopts 1~6 MHz transmission frequency, undisturbed by HF driven light sources IR coverage >8 m radius (4 m high ceiling) Excellent immunity to RF interference from mobile phones and RF devices Discussion and automatic video tracking 3

1.3 System technology 1.3.1 Basic system concept The system composition of one digital infrared wireless conference combo unit, one digital audio power amplifier and digital infrared wireless conference units: The digital infrared wireless conference combo unit receives infrared signals from every digital infrared wireless conference unit and converts the signals into audio which is transmitted to the digital audio power amplifier, or into control signals which are convert into carrier outputs and transmitted to the digital infrared conference units. transmission of infrared light. This can be solved by using a sufficient quantity of transceivers. They should be positioned in a manner to provide an infrared field strong enough to cover the whole conference area. 1.3.4 Carriers and channels TAIDEN HCS-5335 compact digital infrared wireless conference system adopts 1~6 MHz wave band (IEC 61603 BAND Ⅲ,Ⅳ), shown as figure 1.2.. And the Channels and corresponding frequencies refer to table 1.1. 1.3.2 IR radiation Audio and control signals of HCS-5335 are transmitted as modulated infrared light. Infrared radiation is part of the electro-magnetic spectrum, which is composed of visible light, radio waves and other types of radiation. Its wavelength is longer in comparison with the wavelength of visible light. Infrared light cannot pass through opaque walls and ceilings and therefore guarantees privacy of the meeting by avoiding of being intercepted or disturbed. In addition, infrared light has no radio radiation and a license is not required when operating infrared light systems. 1.3.3 Aspects of infrared signal transmission Just like visible light, infrared radiation is reflected from hard surfaces and refracted by hyaloid (glassy or transparent appearance) items. Objects in the conference venue as well as structure of the walls and ceilings will influence the distribution of infrared light. Infrared radiation is reflected from almost all hard surfaces. Smooth, bright or shiny surfaces reflect well. Dark or rough surfaces absorb a large part of the infrared energy. Usually, surfaces opaque to visible light are also opaque to infrared radiation. Shadows from walls and furniture will influence the Figure 1.2 Standard wave band in HCS-5335 system Route Channel Frequency From conference Audio channel 1 1.8 MHz unit(s) to combo Audio channel 2 2.3 MHz unit Control channel 2.8 MHz From combo unit to conference unit(s) Control signal 3.3 MHz Table 1.1 Channels and corresponding frequencies in HCS-5335 system 4

Chapter 2 Digital IR Wireless Conference System Combo Unit 2.1 Overview HCS-5335M Compact Digital Infrared Wireless Conference System Combo Unit is the heart of the HCS-5335 wireless conference system. Its audio, control and power signals all transmitted over a single Cat.5 cable from the highly-integrated main unit with infrared receiver and a built-in digital signal processor. It outputs mixed microphone signal through Dante TM network and integrates Web server configuration and control of the main unit, discussion units and auto tracking cameras as well HCS-5335MA features tabletop installation and ceiling reflection, especially suitable for small to medium-sized conference rooms with a light-colored ceiling not exceeding 5 meters Types: 2.2 Functions and indications Figure 2.1 front Figure 2.1 1.
