transfer your numbers It s quick and easy to transfer your numbers. Simply: n n n save all your contacts to your old phone s memory insert your new SIM Card into your old phone and copy or move the contacts to it then insert the new SIM Card (with all your contacts) into your new phone. did you know you can choose which contact information is shown in your All contacts list. Simply press MENU, tap View, and then select the Contact source to see those contacts.? Don t worry you won t lose your existing phone number by using your new SIM Card. to transfer contacts from SIM to phone 1 From the Homescreen, tap Contacts. 2 On the All contacts screen, press MENU and then tap Import. 3 Select the contact type, and then tap OK. make a call Making a call is as easy as tapping Dialler on the Homescreen, dialing the number or name of the contact, and then tapping the contact you want to call from the Smart Dial list. If you re calling from abroad, add the international + symbol and the country/area code as sppropriate. send a text message Text messages are a quick and easy way to keep in touch when you re on the move. Whether you need to send important news, a time to meet, or make someone smile, texts are a great way to communicate. Using predictive text (XT9) means the phone will predict the word as you enter it, so you only need to press the key once. to write a text message 1 On the Homescreen, tap Messages, and then tap Compose message. The Compose screen opens. 2 Enter the mobile phone number of the message recipient in the To field. As you enter the phone number, matching contacts will appear on the screen. Tap a recipient or continue entering the recipient s phone number. 3 Tap the text box with the Tap to compose label, and then start composing your message. While entering your message, tap: to shift between upper and lower case to insert a symbol to insert a carriage return to delete a character. 4 When you have finished entering your message, simply tap Send to send the text message. your HTC Tattoo the basics text messaging

Answer Phone To listen to your Answer Phone messages, tap Dialler on the Homescreen, and then press and hold the 1 key. Listen to the simple steps to save, listen to or delete messages. You should also set up an Answer Phone PIN number for added security and so that you can access your messages from another phone or from abroad: n call Answer Phone by pressing 1 n select option 3 for Answer Phone Settings and Features n select option 3 to set up your PIN and follow the simple instructions To listen to your messages from any other phone or while abroad call +447973 100 123 from any phone and enter your Orange number followed by the # key. Enter your Answer Phone PIN followed by the # key and then follow the simple instructions to listen to your messages. did you know if you set up a personal greeting, people are far more likely to leave you messages. It s powered by Windows Live Messenger so you ll have access to all the great features you re used to when using Windows Live Messenger on your PC, like your contact list and Buddies. how to access Orange Messenger on your phone: 1 Press HOME, tap All, and then tap Orange Messenger. 2 Tap Sign up for a Orange Messenger by Windows Live ID to create an Orange Messenger by Windows Live account. 3 Upon connecting to the network a page appears for you to enter your email address and your password before accessing the login screen. 4 Enter your email address, domain, and password in the Sign in screen. 5 Check Remember my password if you wish your password to be saved for your subsequent logins. 6 You can also select the option Sign me in automatically so that you don t need to manually sign in when you launch Orange Messenger by Windows Live. 7 Tap Sign in to enter to the service. take a photo or shoot a video Wherever you have your phone, you can now keep the moment fresh. Your phone s camera can take photos and shoot videos, recording personal moments that you can carry with you forever. You can save, send or delete these pictures or videos using your phone. to take a picture or record video 1 Press HOME, tap All, and then tap Camera if you want to capture photos or Camcorder if you want to shoot videos. 2 Frame your subject on the screen. 3 Press the ENTER button to take the shot. When recording video, press the ENTER button to start capturing video, and press ENTER again to stop. personalise your phone There are many ways in which you can personalise your phone to make it truly individual and to ensure your ringtone stands out from the crowd. Your phone has ringtones and pictures stored on it for immediate use and you can also download more from Orange World. change your ringtone 1 Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings. 2 Tap Sound & display > Phone ringtone. 3 Tap the ringtone you want to use, and then tap OK. The ring tone briefly plays when selected. change your Homescreen wallpaper 1 Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Wallpaper. 2 Select Wallpaper gallery-home to use preset phone wallpapers or tap Albums to use a photo that you have captured using the camera or copied to your phone as a wallpaper. 3 Select an image, and then tap Set wallpaper or Save. your HTC Tattoo make your phone your own

troubleshooting soft reset A soft reset is similar to restarting a computer. Simply turn your phone off and take your battery and SIM Card out. After 10 minutes, put it back together and switch your phone on. clean the contacts on the handset and battery This procedure will remove any slight corrosion or debris and must be carried out with care. free up some memory Cleaning the handset memory until at least 2MB is free may resolve the problem.
