Installation 1 A. Connect the included Ethernet network cable to the network router or switch. Network, Switch, or Router PC connected to Network Connect Ethernet cable to router or switch. B. Connect the other end of the cable to the Ethernet port of the camera. Camera Network, Switch or Router Connect Ethernet cable to camera. C. Connect the included power adapter to the POWER port of the camera, and plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet. Outlet Camera Power Connect camera to power. 5
D. Make sure that the LEDs of the camera are lit. Verify that the LEDs of the camera work. NOTE: You must perform the initial configuration of the camera from a personal computer connected to the camera via the Ethernet port (wired). You cannot perform the initial configuration wirelessly. NOTE: After the initial configuration, you can use the camera in one of two modes: wired or wireless. You cannot use the camera in both modes simultaneously. Configuration 2 A. Insert the Setup CD into the CD-ROM drive. If the CD doesn t run automatically, go to My Computer and click on the CD-ROM drive. B. On the Setup screen of the Setup Wizard, click the Click Here to Start button. Insert the Setup CD. Click the Click Here to Start button to start. C. On the Software License Agreement screen, click Next if you agree and wish to proceed. The Wizard now searches for the camera. Agree to the license agreement to proceed. D. Select the camera and click Next. If the camera you want is not displayed in the Selection box, click Search Again. Search for the camera. 7
E. Log in by typing admin, in lowercase letters, in the Administrator Name and Administrator Password fields, then click OK. You can change the administrator name and administrator password using the Web Utility of the camera later. Authenticate. F. On the Basic Settings screen, change the following settings: Camera Name Enter a unique name for the camera, up to 15 characters in length. Unique names are helpful when using multiple cameras on the same network. Change basic settings. Description Enter a description, up to 32 characters in length, with additional information, such as the location of the camera. Time Zone Select the time zone for the location of the camera. Date Enter the current date in the provided fields (month / day / four-digit year). 8 Business Internet Video Camera with Audio
Time Enter the current time in the provided fields (hour : minutes and PM/ AM). When you finish making changes, click Next. G. If you know the IP address, select Static IP address. Otherwise, select Automatic Configuration DHCP (default). Select configuration type. NOTE: The camera defaults to DHCP mode. If the network doesn t have a DHCP server or there are problems obtaining an IP address dynamically, a static IP address of 192.168.1.99 is assigned to the camera after 90 seconds. WARNING: Pressing the reset button of the camera for more than 10 seconds will restore the factory default settings, including setting the camera to DHCP mode. H. The New Internet Camera Settings screen appears and displays the settings of the camera. Click Next to continue or click Back to change a setting. Click Next to change the camera s settings. I. On the confirmation dialog box, click OK to confirm the settings. A progress bar appears as the settings are saved to the camera. J. When the success message appears, click OK to continue. The Wizard now returns to the Welcome screen. Click OK to save new settings. Click OK to display the Welcome screen. K. On the Welcome screen, click Exit to launch the default web browser and proceed to the Home page of the Web Utility of the camera. Click Exit to launch the Web Utility. L. On the Home page, click Setup. Click Setup to change the password. 10 Business Internet Video Camera with Audio
M. In the Connect to dialog box, enter admin in both the User name and Password fields. Authenticate. N. If you are using Internet Explorer, it prompts you to install ActiveX. ActiveX is needed to view video. Click Install ActiveX Control. O. Click the Install button to install the Linksys 210 Viewer software. Click Install. After the installation is complete, video from the camera appears on the Home page. View video on the View Video screen. Software configuration is now complete. Configuration 11
