Ventus Student Setting up a Ventus Account If you have any questions, please contact the Access Service IT department by phone: 613-562-5800 (2788); or email: astech@uottawa.ca. Step 1: Access the Ventus login page Click Students on the right side of the SASS webpage (https://sass.uottawa.ca/en/access) under Login. Step 2: Begin the process of setting up your Ventus account Click First time user? Create your account now on the Student Portal page.

Step 3: Create a Ventus account (1) Enter the beginning of your uottawa email. (2) Enter your uottawa student number. (3) Create your desired password. A strong password includes upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. (4) Click Create. Step 4: Confirm your account Log into your uottawa email. Open the email adapt@uottawa.ca sent you. Please confirm by clicking the link provided in the email.

Step 5: Log in to Ventus You will be redirected to the student portal where you will need to log in with your email address and new password. Step 6: Complete the Intake Form Enter the required information in the appropriate fields. Once completed, click the Submit button. You will then gain access to your Ventus account. Note: To learn how to use your Ventus account, please refer to the How to Use Your Ventus Account page. Step 7: Documentation Once you have created your Ventus account, please upload your documentation. Once Access Service receives your documentation, you will be contacted to schedule your initial appointment with a Learning Specialist. Step 2: Log in to Ventus (1) Enter the beginning of your uottawa email. (2) Enter the password that you created when setting up your Ventus account. (3) Click Sign in.

Understanding the menu bar Dashboard: serves as a profile overview, outlining reminders and notifications linked to your account. Profile: features important personal information, as well as details about your condition and accommodations offered to you. To-do list: indicates the tasks to complete and their respective due dates.

Exams: lists all unconfirmed exams, confirmed exams to be written with Access Service, and exams to be written in class. Letters: allows you to access all letters issued by Access Service on your behalf. Transcriptions: used to upload requests for transcription services and view their progress. Account activity: gives a detailed list of the changes to your Ventus profile as well as their respective completion dates.

Ventus Student Confirming your exams *Note: All exams must be confirmed no later than seven (7) days prior to the in class exam date. Final exams must be confirmed by November 15 th for the fall session and by March 15 th for the winter session. Step 1: Access the Ventus login page Click Students on the right side of the SASS webpage (https://sass.uottawa.ca/en/access) under Login.

Step 2: Log in to Ventus (1) Enter the beginning of your uottawa email. (2) Enter the password that you created when setting up your Ventus account. (3) Click Sign in. Step 2: Exams tab To confirm an exam, click on the Exams tab on the menu bar. Step 3: Respond tab Choose the Respond tab linked to the exam you wish to confirm.

Step 4: Extra time If your accommodations include extra time for exams, please select if you wish to add the time prior to the in class exam or after it. Step 5: Confirm the exam Select I confirm that I will write this exam at Access Service or I confirm that I will write this exam IN CLASS. Please note that by writing your exam in class you will forfeit your Access Service accommodations (i.e. extra time, exam environment, accessible technologies).
