SAFETY Safety Precautions A triangle with a lighting symbol draws the user s attention to dangerous voltage without insulation in the cabinet, which may be high enough to entail a risk of an electric shock. A triangle with an exclamation mark draws the user s attention to important instructions for use and maintenance in the accompanying manual, which should be studied and adhered to. The symbol for a CLASS II (double insulation) product. Warning: To minimise the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. Do not open the cabinet as it contains dangerous voltages. Only qualified technicians are allowed to carry out repair and service of this system. If the plug of the power cord needs to be replaced. It is important that the replacement is identical to the plug that needs to be replaced, or that the new plug has been recommended by the manufacturer. Caution: To avoid electric shock, it is important to insert the plug correctly into the wall outlet. Important Safety Instructions Warning: It is important that you read and observe both the instructions in this manual and the instruction on the unit. Keep this manual safe for future reference. This unit was designed and manufactured with a view to providing maximum safety for the user. Incorrect use of the unit may cause an electric shock or fire. The protection devices built into this unit, will protect the user if the procedures below are observed in connection with installation, use and repair. This unit is fully electronic and contains no parts that can be repaired by the user. Do not remove the covers, risk of dangerous voltage. Only qualified technicians are allowed to repair the unit. Read the manual After unpacking the unit, please read the manual carefully and observe all the instructions given. Power supply Only the power supply indicated on the rating plate must be used for this unit. If you are not sure which power supply you have, please contact your local dealer. Earthing or polarisation If the plug cannot be inserted properly into the socket, or if the plug does not fit, the unit must not be used in your country. Ventilation The cabinet is provided with slots and openings to ensure ventilation and reliable operation, to protect the unit against overheating. Do not block or cover these openings. The openings must never be blocked, for instance by placing the unit on a bed, a sofa, or similar surface. Heat Do not place the unit near sources of heat such as radiators, ovens or other units that produce heat. Water and moisture. The unit must not be placed close to water, such as bathtub, wash basin, kitchen sink or washing machine, in a damp cellar or close to a swimming pool, etc. Cleaning Unplug the unit before cleaning. Do not use liquid detergents and aerosol cleaning agents. Use a dry cloth. Power cords Wiring must be organised to prevent people from stepping on the cables and to avoid pinching by objects placed on or beside them. Take special care around sockets and plug boxes and where the power cords leave the unit. 4

SAFETY Lightning Unplug the unit for additional protection during storms or when the unit is not used for prolonged periods. This will prevent damage to the unit from lightning and power surges. Penetration of objects and liquid Never push any foreign objects through the openings into the unit, as they may touch dangerous voltage points, or short-circuit parts and cause fire or an electric shock. Do not spill liquid onto the unit. Accessories Do not place the unit on unstable surfaces such as a trolley, stand, tripod, shelf or table. The unit may fall and injure persons or cause damage to the unit. The unit must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions and by means of installation equipment recommended by the manufacturer. If the unit is placed on a trolley, the trolley must be moved very carefully. Sudden stops, unnecessary force and uneven surfaces may cause the trolley to turn over. Loads Do not place heavy loads on the unit and do not step on it. The load may fall and cause serious injury to persons or damage to the unit. Damage Unplug the unit and contact qualified technicians in the following cases: A. If the power cord or the plug is damaged. B. If liquid has been spilled on the unit or objects have fallen into the unit. C. If the unit has been exposed to liquid or moisture. D. If the unit does not work properly after adhering to the instructions in the operation manual. Only the settings described in the operation manual must be made, as incorrect setting may result in damage and often will make it difficult for a qualified technician to make the unit work properly again. E. If the unit has been dropped or damaged in any other way. F. When the operation of the unit changes drastically, the unit requires service. Service Do not attempt to carry out any service work by yourself. By opening or removing the cover, you will be exposed to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Any service work should be carried out by qualified technicians. Recycling If at any time in the future you need to dispose of this product, please note that waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice. CONNECTIONS Speaker Set up Connect the speakers to speaker output terminals on the rear panel of TI-350 main unit with attached speaker cables as shown below. R L Subwoofer Port in/line in Connect analogue stereo audio from devices such as, DVD or Blu-ray player, MP3 player, etc. using Port in or Line in input. Press SOURCE button to switch from Port in or Line in to play the audio from the connected device. USB Connect a USB memory to the USB port on front of the unit. Press SOURCE button to select USB source. USB Device Requirement 1. NTFS file system is not supported only FAT (12/16/32) file system is supported. 2. USB is not supported when total number of files is more than 1000. 3. External hard disk is not supported. 4. Multiple partition in single USB memory stick is not supported. 5. Maxim size of USB memory stick supported is 64 GB. Compatible MP3/WMA 1. Sampling Frequency: 8-48 khz for both MP3 and WMA music file. 2. Bit rate: 32-320 kbps for both MP3 and WMA music file. 3. Maximum files: under 999. Note: You can only recharge your MP3 player through USB port. To listen to music on your MP3 player choose one of available inputs (Port in, Line in or Bluetooth). Bluetooth 1. With your Bluetooth device and the TIBO TI-350 Hi-Fi system both turned On, press the SOURCE button on the TIBO TI-350 system to make the system discoverable. BLUETOOTH will appear on the TIBO TI-350 display to show that the system is discoverable. 2. Set your Bluetooth device to discoverable so it can be discovered (refer to your Bluetooth device guide for details) by TIBO TI-350 Hi-Fi system. Locate the Bluetooth device list in the user interface of your device. 3. From the Bluetooth device list, select the device named TI-350. 4. If your Bluetooth device prompts you for a pass code, enter digits 0000 (four zeros) and press OK. Some devices also ask you to accept the connection. Your Bluetooth device indicates when pairing is complete. 5. The TIBO TI-350 system indicates pairing is complete when the BT LINK appears on TIBO TI-350 system s display. Connecting a Paired Device 1. To connect a previously paired device, turn on the device and press SOURCE button until BLUETOOTH appears on the TIBO TI-350 system display. TIBO TI -350 system reconnects automatically. 2. When the TIBO TI-350 system and Bluetooth device have successfully connected, the BT LINK appears on TIBO TI-350 system s display. 8

REMOTE CONTROL Remote Control Operation Insert the batteries (included) into the remote control. Point the remote control at the TIBO TI-350 system s remote sensor on the front panel. The remote control works within 8 meters distance and 30 degrees angle between system and remote control. Max. 8 metres Battery Installation 1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control. 2. Load two AAA/1.5V batteries (included) into the battery compartment making sure that the batteries have been inserted with the correct polarities matching the symbols (+), (-) as indicated inside the battery compartment. 3. Replace the cover. Note: 1. Remove the batteries when you do not intend to use the remote control for a long time. 2. Do not mix new and used batteries, or different types of batteries. 3. Weak batteries can leak and severely damage the remote control. 4. The batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat source, such as sunshine, fire or any other things like that. 5. Dispose of batteries according to your government regulations. 9

BASIC OPERATION CD Function Switches the unit On or Off. Opens and closes the disc tray. Switches On or Off LED indicator mode. Info Source Displays the track information (if the track has ID3 function). Selects the source (CD, USB, TUNER, LINE IN, PORT IN or BLUETOOTH). Press to stop a playback. Switches between (FLAT, ROCK, CLASSIC, POP JAZZ) equalizer modes. Press the button for more than 3 seconds without CD inserted to turn On DEMO mode. Starts or pauses playback. Next track. Fast forward playback. Previous track. Folder +/- Fast rewind playback. Skips or returns to the next or previous folder. Turns up the volume. Turns down the volume. Bluetooth USB CD Mutes the sound. Activates BLUETOOTH input. Activates USB input. Activates CD input. Numerical buttons - selects numbered tracks, files, or preset number. Program Repeat Sleep Dimmer In stop mode, place a CD and press PROGRAM to access to the program mode. Press the direct numeric keys to select the desired track or the arrows and press PROGRAM again to confirm your selection. Press to start program playback. Switches the repeat modes among repeat all, random On or random Off. Sets the system to turn Off automatically at a specific time. Adjusts brightness of the display. 11

BASIC OPERATION Tuner Function The following buttons are used in tuner mode. Press TUNER/SOURCE to select tuner mode. Tuner MO/ST Tun+ Tun- Auto Search Memory Activate FM mode. Switches between Mono and Stereo audio signal in FM. Fine tune (increase) the frequency. Fine tune (decrease) the frequency. Press the button to start auto scanning, press it again to stop auto scanning. After tuning in a new frequency, press MEMORY, then select a preferred station by inputting the corresponding numbers to save it as preset station. Preset Preset RDS The digit keys can be used to select preset station. For example, press 2 to select channel 2; press 1 first, then press 5 to select channel 15. Skips to the next preset station. Skips to the previous preset station. The FM tuner is supplied with the RDS (Radio Data System) facility. This shows information about the radio station being listened to. Press RDS repeatedly to cycle through the various data types: PS (Programme Service Name) The name of the channel will appear in the display. PTY (Programme Type Recognition) The programme type (e.g. Jazz or News) will appear in the display. RT (Radio Text) A text message contains special information from the broadcast station. This text may scroll across the display. CT (Time controlled by the channel) This shows the time and date as broadcast by the station. You can search the radio stations by programme type by pressing RDS. The display will show the last PTY in use. Press PTY one or more times to select your preferred programme type. Press and hold TUN. -/+ The tuner will search automatically. When a station is found, the search will stop. ASPM ASPM (Auto Station Programme Memory). This function lets you automatically search and store 50 stations. 1. Press ASPM on remote control. After ASPM will blink in the display window, scanning will start. To stop scanning, press ASPM again. 2. When an RDS station is found, the station will be stored in memory. 3. After scanning, the number of stations stored in memory will be displayed, and then END will appear. 4. Although you preset stations for FM manually, a preset number for a RDS station will be saved successively. 5. To listen stored station, press PRESET/FOLDER +/-. Deleting all saved RDS stations - press and hold MEMO for two seconds. CLEAR will blink in the display window. Note: In Tuner mode, VOLUME+/-, MUTE buttons are also active. For details, please refer to CD operation in this chapter. 12

TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Cause Solution No Power There is no sound or is distorted. Unable to play CD TI-350 doesn t work when a USB drive is inserted. Buttons don t work. The remote control does not function. AC power cord is not connected to the power supply or is not connected to a power supply correctly. The audio cables aren t connected correctly. The volume is set to the minimum level. The sound is switched Off. CD is placed wrong way in the disc tray. CD is not compatible. CD is dirty. The connected USB drive is probably not a certified. The unit is being interfered with static electricity. There is no battery in the remote control. The batteries are flat. The remote control isn t pointed to the remote sensor. The remote control is out of operating range. The unit is turned Off. Please check that the AC power cord is connected correctly. Check the cables are connected correctly. Turn up the volume. Press MUTE on the remote control to switch On the sound. Press PLAY/PAUSE. Check CD is placed with labels side up in the disc tray. Clean the disc. TI-350 can not play uncertified USB drive. If TI-350 stop working, turn it Off, disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet and unplug the USB drive from the player. Then, power On TI-350. TI-350 will resume in normal mode. Switch Off and unplug the unit. Then connect the plug to the power supply and turn it On again. Install two AAA/1.5V batteries into remote control. Replace the batteries with new ones. Make sure that the remote control is pointed to the remote control sensor. Make sure the remote control is within the operating area. Switch Off the unit and disconnect it from the AC outlet. Then power on the unit again 13
