The Main Screen When you open any of the Lake County maps, a screen similar to the one below will appear. The buttons at the bottom will vary between maps, the order will remain similar. Number Screen Element App Lake County Logo: Displays the logo for Lake County, Colorado. Address Search Box: Typing in a property address allows you to search for it on the map (Example: 505 Harrison Avenue, Leadville, CO 80461) See Elements Described in Detail (pg.2) for further instructions.

Number Screen Element Link back to homepage: By clicking Lake County GIS Homepage it will open a new web browser with the Lake County GIS Homepage. Overview Map: Displays a thumbnail of the whole map with the current view shown as a small square on the map. The Overview map is an orientation tool to identify which part of the overall map you are currently viewing (zoomed in). To open/hide the Overview map, click the arrow in the top right corner. App Source: The application source is powered by ESRI, this is not inter changeable and will display on every image and print screen. Source Information: The graphics displayed are not inter-changeable. The information displayed is automated from the source data; where the basemap information originated. The Main Screen Continued Navigation features in the main screen Number Screen Element Zoom + - : By clicking the +, -, buttons to zoom in or out on the map.

Number Screen Element Default Extent/Home icon: This button will take you back to the original when you first were brought to the webpage: an overview of Lake County, Colorado. Find my location: By clicking this, it will use your computer s location to attempt to find your current location. (It is usually not accurate) Mouse Position for coordinates: The position (coordinates) of the computer cursor on the current map. This is displayed in Degrees and is not to be used for any legal purposes. Legend List: This list displays the layers and the symbology used to display the different features on the map. Layer List: This list allows you to turn on or off the available layers in the map. Basemap Gallery: A menu of shortcuts to frequently-used base maps: Gray Canvas, Streets, Topographic, Imagery, etc. (pg. 11-12) Print Tab: By clicking this button it will generate a print from the current extent that is displayed on the map. See Elements Described in Detail (pg.12-13) for further instructions. User Agreement/Information Tab (i): Contains information regarding the User Agreement that any and all persons using this App agree to, along with links to instructions and how to report errors. Parcel Search Box: You can search for the parcel/account number on the map See Elements Described in Detail (pg. 3-4) for further instructions. Open Attribute Table: Displays the attribute information for the parcel data. It is exportable to CSV (excel table format). See below for further instructions Elements Described in Detail Elements described in detail: Address Search Box: In the Esri World Geocoder type in the address of a location, hit the enter key on your keyboard: it will automatically zoom to the address. It needs the entire address to locate the property, example: 505 Harrison Avenue, Leadville, CO 80461. Click the X in the search box to clear your results.

Note: You cannot search for a Parcel Number in the Address Search Box- it only works for searching addresses. If you want to search by Parcel Number use the Parcel Search Box, by clicking the magnifying glass, below. Parcel Search Box: 1. After clicking the Search symbol-> 2. Click Search Parcel Number 3. Type in the 8 digit Account/Parcel Number, then click APPLY

Example: 4. This will zoom to the available associated parcel number and it will be highlighted in orange. If you need to look up another parcel number, hit the Clear Results button at the bottom of the Search box. 5. To minimize the results, hits the double ^ up arrow button, or hit the X to cancel out of account number search.

If you need help locating your parcel number look it up here: http://www.lakecountyco.com/assessor/query Note: There is a 0 (zero) that is automatically in the search box, delete it, and type in your 8 digit number. Attribute Information for Parcels When clicking on a parcel, a box pops up with all the associated attribute information for that specific parcel. The attribute information includes: account number, owner, mailing address, legal description, acreage, etc. Understanding the Attribute Fields: FIELD DESCRIPTION FID Refers to the unique identifier of the object and its relation in a table within the map, for internal use only. AccountNum Parcel Number/Account Number relates to the assigned number for that particular parcel assigned by the Assessor s Office for tracking parcels. PAPUD1 Tax District code PASHOUSE The assigned house number for the address of the parcel PASSNAM The assigned street name for the address of the parcel PAONAME The owners name PAONAM2 The owners name, continued PAOHOUSE The street number for the mailing address for the owner of the parcel PAOSNAM The street name for the mailing address for the owner of the parcel PAOADR2 The alternative mailing address for the owner PAOCITY The city for the mailing address for the owner of the parcel PAOST The state for the mailing address for the owner of the parcel PAOZIP5 The zip code for the mailing address for the owner of the parcel PRUSE Use code provided by the State, internal use. USECDS Use codes for the internal Assessor s Office functionality

If you click on the Open Attribute Table/Arrow tab at the very bottom of the screen (#14) it will open a table with every parcel and its attributes. If you have a parcel selected, it will be in the attribute table, highlighted in blue (example below). It will tell you if one is selected, see below. Note: It might not be the first row, but it will tell you how many are selected in the bottom left corner near results. To view only results from the parcels in the current view and to help narrow your table so that you can find the one selected, go to Options (dropdown arrow)- Filter By Map Extent. This will only show the records in the current map extent in the table (see below). By zooming into the selected parcel the user can narrow the number of parcels in the current map extent which also narrows the number of parcels in the attribute table.

Options Dropdown Explained: Show Selected Records- this shows all of the selected records (records you have selected in blue). Show Related Records- this would show related records if it applies. Filter- create a filter query to select multiple records based on a common field. See below for further instructions. Filter by Map Extent- this selects all of the records in the current map extent (all the records you can see on your map view currently). Show/Hide Columns- you can choose which columns to have present or not, it is your attribute data. Export to CSV- this exports the data to an excel table format. Other Options Explained: Zoom to: zooms you to the selected account (highlighted in light blue). Clear Selection: clears the selected features/accounts (highlighted in light blue). Refresh: Refreshes the selection.

Creating a Filter explained.-this is for advanced users. 1. First explained is the Add a filter expression. Click Add a filter expression 2. The default option will be FID (Number) from the dropdown arrow you can select whatever field you are going to search by (example: name, address, street, account number). When you start typing in the empty field box, it will give you available options so that your search results work. The default expression is, is, choose from the dropdown the appropriate statement. Then make sure the appropriate field is selected for the results: Value, Field, Unique. You can add multiple filter expressions, to search different fields at one time. Hit the X if you want to cancel the expression or have added to many. Example:

1. Second explained is the Add an expression set. Click Add an expression set. It is the same as Add a filter expression, however, the minimum expression is two. You must also make sure the first line is correct: All (or Any) of the following expression in this set are true. Example:

Basemap Gallery: A basemap is a layer with geographic information that serves as a background. A basemap provides context for additional layers that are overlaid on top of the base map. Basemaps usually provide location references for features that do not change often like boundaries, rivers, lakes, roads, and highways. Even on basemaps, these different categories of information, are in layers. On the left side of the tab bar, the third icon down: four squares making up a larger square, is the basemap gallery button. By clicking on the icon, it allows you to choose between multiple base maps for various display purposes. The options are self-explanatory titles, the default when you open the app is the Streets basemap. Print Tab: Under the print tab there are many options; the default settings will work for most people in most cases.

For the average user, click the print button. This will generate a print that you can click on, it will open in a new browser and either a) print from the new window or b) save it to your computer and then print from another application. For example, below click on the 1. Lake County Web Map (this will open in a new browser from which you can print) Note: If the map that is created in the print setting doesn t completely encompass your parcel, zoom out and retry it until you get a map that displays all of the information you want. Only use the advanced settings if you think you are an advanced user. Choose the layout (select Letter ANSI A Portrait if the parcel is tall, or Letter ANSI A Landscape if the parcel is wide). (If you are trying to print landscape make sure your printer settings are set to print landscape, not portrait) Select the Format you want (pdf, jpg, etc.) then select Print.

Advanced Dropdown Options: Map scale/extent: Preserve- Map scale is the relationship between distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the ground. Map extent- the current extent on the limit of the geographic images are shown on a map, changed by zooming and panning. Force Scale: If you want to force the scale of the picture to display a specific scale. Layout metadata: Author: You can add your name, clients name, etc. Copyright: Default is Lake County, do not change this. MAP_ONLY size: Width (px): The measurement or extent of something from side to side. Height (px): The measurement or extent of something from base to top. Print quality: DPI: Dots Per Inch, the printer can print so many points per inch; the higher the value, the finer the print.
