Safety Instructions IMPORTANT: Please read this manual before operating your Mistral CD Player. Observe the Safety Instructions to avoid electrical shocks or equipment failure due to improper installation. Please retain these instructions in a safe place for future reference. A triangle with a lightning symbol indicates dangerous voltage which may be high enough to entail risk of electric shock. A triangle with an exclamation mark indicates important instructions for use and maintenance in the accompanying manual. A symbol for CLASS II (double insulation) 1. Observe all safety warnings given in the manual. 2. If the unit produces smoke, a strange smell, or strange sounds upon turning the product ON, the unit may have been damaged in shipment. If this happens, immediately switch the power OFF and unplug the power cord. 3. This unit should NOT be situated in close proximity to water. E.g. Near baths, sinks, washing machines, swimming pools, saunas etc. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or to extreme temperature, humidity, or changes in temperature. 4
Safety Instructions 4. Do not place near direct heat sources such as radiators, stoves, gas fires, naked flames or candles. 5. Ensure that the unit is placed on a clean, dry and flat surface before operation. 6. Do not drop the unit, apply excessive force to the controls or place heavy objects on top of the unit. 7. Do not allow excessive levels of dust to gather on the unit. To clean, unplug the cooled unit and use a soft dry cloth. If necessary, use a damp cloth without any solvents. 8. Ensure that the area in which the unit is situated has adequate ventilation. Do not place the unit in a position where its ventilation may become obstructed. 9. Avoid placement on beds, sofas, rugs, enclosed bookcases / cabinets and any other area which may cause interference to the ventilation of the product thus causing it to overheat. 10. Ensure that the unit is connected to the correct power supply as indicated on the unit. Unplug the unit when not in use for a long period. 11. Always make sure power cables are placed safely and are not obstructing a walkway. 12. To avoid risk of electric shock, do not attempt to remove the cover or the back of unit. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing of internal parts to qualified service personnel. Any unauthorised changes or modifications to this equipment would render the manufacturer's warranty null and void. 13. Check that your local mains supply voltage agrees with the setting indicated on the back panel of the unit. Always use a quality power surge protector. 14. Always turn OFF the power switches when connecting or disconnecting from mains power. 15. It is recommended that you disconnect the power supply from the mains when the unit is in a protracted period of non-use 5

Remote Control Installation of batteries 1. Remove the cover as illustrated. 2. Position one battery of type CR2015 in the battery compartment. Make sure that the orientation is correct. 3. Replace the cover. Do not mix new and old batteries and do not use different types of batteries. If the remote control is not used for prolonged periods batteries may go flat. Using the remote control Some of the functions of the unit can only be performed by the remote control. Direct the remote control at the sensor on the front panel of the unit.the remote control works within a range of 6 metres. 8
Remote Control In some cases the remote control may not work well in strong light. You may have to move the unit if it is a problem. Malfunction may occur if other remote controls are used near the unit. Do not place any objects on the remote control, as the batteries may go flat if a key is depressed constantly. Make sure that there are no obstacles between remote control and unit. Do not position the unit behind tinted glass as it may reduce the maximum range of the remote. Remote control functions 1. Play/Pause: Starts and pauses playback. 2. Repeat: Repeats a single track or all tracks on a disc. 3. Stop: Stops playback. 4. Eject: Opens and closes the disc tray. 5. Previous: Selects the previous track. 6. Next : Selects the next track. 7. Fast reverse: Rewinds in play back. 8. Fast forward: Fast forwards in playback. 9. Volume decrease: Turns down the volume. 10. Volume increase: Turns up the volume. 9
Front Panel and Connections Front panel Power : On or Off. Opens and closes the CD tray. Selects the previous track. Stops playback Selects the next track. Starts playback at first press and stops playback at second press. 10
Front Panel and Connections Connections 1. Stereo Output: Analogue stereo output. For connection to stereo amplifier or receiver with analogue input. 2. Optical Output: Digital stereo output. For connection to amplifier or receiver with optical input. 3. AC input: For connection to mains voltage. Make sure that the plug has been correctly inserted, and that the voltage corresponds to the text printed on the back panel. Explanation of VFD display This unit does not feature any OSD (On Screen Display). Instead it features a more descriptive VFD display that displays all the information required. The display and symbols description is pictured below. 11

Operation and Functions On/Off 1. Turn on the unit by pressing the power switch. 2. If you wish to turn off the unit, press the power switch again. Protect the environment and turn the unit off after use. Load a disc To load a disc press the eject button on the remote control or on the front panel of the CD player. When the disc has been read, the display will show the number of tracks on the disc and the total playback time. If there is no disc in the tray, the message "NO DISC" will be displayed. If the unit has trouble reading a disc, it may also display NO DISC. If this happens, eject the disc and check that it is clean and free from dirt. If the disc will still not play, contact your dealer. Play Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the remote control or on the front panel to start playback. 13
Operation and Functions The counter on the left side of the display will start. Pause Press the PLAY/PAUSE button again to pause playback. will display. To continue play back, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again. Stop To stop playback, press the STOP button. The display will again display the number of tracks on the disc and the total playback time. When the STOP button is pressed all previous programming settings will be deleted. Previous and Next When a track is being played you can go back to the previous track or continue to the next track. If you want to continue to the next track, press the (next) button on the remote control or on the front panel. If you wish to go back to a previous track, press the (Previous) button on the remote control or on the front panel. Forward and Rewind It is possible to perform a search on the track played. If you wish to fast forward, press the button on the remote until you get to the point in the track you require. You will see 14
Operation and Functions the time counter in the display count up. If you wish to search backward, use the same procedure as search forward, but use the button instead. You can also activate the search function by depressing the button on the front panel. Repeat The DT-307C can be set to repeat one or all tracks of a CD. This is done by means of the REPEAT button on the remote control. Note that this function can only be activated via the remote control. If you press REPEAT once, one track will be repeated and the first and second number from the left will start to flash. If you press the REPEAT twice, all tracks will be repeated and the first number to fourth from the left will flash. If you wish to deactivate the repeat function, press the REPEAT button for a third time. 15
Troubleshooting Problem Cause/Remedy No power when unit is turned on. Switch on the electric current at the socket Check that the plug has been correctly inserted into the socket. The internal fuse has blown and must be replaced by a qualified service technician. The power cord has been damaged and must be replaced. No sound. The unit has not been turned on. Incorrect connection to the amplifier. No loudspeakers have been connected to the amplifier. No CD in the unit. The unit will not read the disc. Check if the disc is upside down. Check that the disc is clean and undamaged. Check if it is a CD or a CD-r. The unit skips some parts during playback. Check that the disc is clean and undamaged. The unit is positioned on an unstable surface. A buzzing can be heard The RCA cables between the DT- 307C and the amplifier/receiver have been damaged. The RCA cables between the DT- 307C and the amplifier/receiver are wound around the power cord. 16
