Send and receive emails > To send an email you first need to set up email on your phone see page 8. > Press and select Messaging. Select Create message > E-mail message. > Enter email address next to To. Scroll to message box and write the message. Press to send the message. Retrieve and reply an email > To retrieve an email: press Messaging > 3Mail > Options > Retrieve e-mail > New or All. > To reply to an email: scroll to the email and press > Options > Reply. Browse into mail > Press > > Email > Mail. From the browser you can send emails and view and manage emails, voicemails, faxmails and contacts. 6 User guide User guide 7

Set up your email Take and send photos, and play music Set up your username To set up your 3mail you need to have set up a voicemail PIN first. > Press > > Email > Mail. > Scroll to Enter username and press. Key in your preferred username (eg johnsmith), scroll down to Done and press. Then press. > Once your username has been accepted your email address will be displayed (eg johnsmith@3mail.com). Collect emails from other accounts To collect emails from other accounts you need to set up your POP3 email account. > Press > > Email > Mail. > Settings > Manage other mail > Add new account. > Scroll to Name this account, click or the text prompt and enter a name for the account. Then do the same in turn for POP3 server address, POP3 Username, and POP3 user password, select Done and press. You can check these details with your email/internet service provider. You re now ready to collect emails from another email account. Take and send photos > Press (right hand side of handset). > Press (up or down) to select Image or video mode. > Press (left or right) to pan and zoom. > Press or to take a photo. > Press to send photo and follow menu. You can control light, brightness, quality, flash and duration. In Image mode press Options. View photos, video clips or audio files > > Gallery > Images or Video clips > select your preferred file. Add a photo to your contact You can associate a photo with a contact stored on the mobile. > Highlight the contact > Options > Edit contact > Options > Add detail > Image > Open Gallery > Images select your preferred image > Close > Yes. Play a music file > From the start screen, scroll down to Music Player and press. > Select Artists or Albums. > Select Tracks and press Play. Take video clips and share them Transfer files between your mobile and PC Take and send video clips > Press. > Press (up or down) to select image or video mode. > Press (left or right) to pan and zoom. > Press start video recording and press Stop (right soft key) to stop recording. > Press to send video and follow menu. You can control light, brightness, quality, flash and duration. In Video mode press Options. Share video clips SeeMe TV SeeMe TV is a new channel on 3 where you re the star. Simply record a clip and submit it. We ll publish it if we can, and if someone pays to watch it you ll even be paid. > Take a video, then send it to 32323. Watch SeeMe TV > Press > > Meet&Share > SeeMeTV. > Scroll to your preferred topic and then select the clip. You must get permission from anyone in your video before you send it. By sending a video you agree to SeeMe TV s other rules (see three.co.uk/seemetv for full terms and conditions, and info on how you will be paid). It costs 50p to send a video to 32323. You ll need: Windows 2000 Professional or XP; 250MB of hard disk space; a USB port and CD-ROM drive. Install Nokia PC Suite file transfer software > Load the Nokia PC Suite CD that came with your mobile on to your PC. > Select Nokia PC Suite and click Install. The installation should begin automatically. Follow the Wizard to install. Connect your mobile and PC > Click. > At the Welcome to Get Connected wizard screen, click Next and follow the Wizard to install. > Select Cable connection and click Next. > Connect your mobile and PC using the USB cable. > On your Nokia 6500, select PC Suite and it will automatically install drivers to connect your mobile and PC. > Follow the Wizard to install. Select PC Application to synchronise > Right click on Nokia PC Suite at the bottom right corner of your PC and then select Synchronise. > Select Settings. > Select the PC application, eg Microsoft Outlook, to synchronise with your mobile. Click Next. > Select which items you want to synchronise, eg Calendar or Contact items. Then click Next and follow the instructions. > Synchronisation will automatically start. 10 User guide Nokia User guide 11

Transfer files between your mobile and PC Helpful information Synchronise contacts and calendar > Connect your mobile and PC using the USB cable. > On your Nokia 6500, select PC Suite. > Click on Synchronise at the bottom right corner of your PC. In the pop up menu, select Synchronise Now to synchronise contacts and calendar between your mobile and PC. > Then drag and drop relevant picture, audio, video between your mobile and PC. Transfer images and videos > Connect your mobile and PC using the USB cable. > On your Nokia 6500, select PC Suite. > Right click on Nokia PC Suite at the bottom right corner of your PC and then select File manager to synchronise contacts and calendar between your mobile and PC. Please note that transferring copyrightprotected content, eg music and football videos, without the copyright owner s consent is against the law and it breaks your agreement with 3. Get the most from your battery > You can recharge your battery several hundred times before it will need replacing and you don t need to fully discharge it before recharging. > Don t expose the battery charger to direct sunlight or use in areas of high humidity such as a bathroom. Battery life will decrease if you expose it to temperatures below -10 C or above 45 C. > If you charge your battery regularly and you notice a decrease in talk time or an increase in charging time, then it s probably time to buy a new battery.
