Introduction The GPS Pet Tracker utilises a combination of location technologies to provide the best solution for keeping an eye on your pets. GPS, LBS (mobile tower triangulation) and Wi-Fi mapping delivers a powerful tracking capability. The unique ability of the tracker to roam across the 3G networks from the major Australian telcos ensures that the strongest network is used at all times. The camera on the tracker can be remotely operated from the smartphone app and the captured image viewed on your phone. Your tracker has been supplied with 2 silicone sleeves. These provide protection from the elements as well as providing a method for attaching the tracker to your pet s favourite collar. Simply pass the collar between the 2 straps and the tracker on the rear. Spares can be ordered from www.intlocsys.com and are available in black, blue and pink.

Using your device Some simple steps to help you get the most out of your device: The device is water and dust resistant, not water proof. It will handle normal pet activity including getting caught in the rain however immersion in water is not recommended. Battery life is a balance between frequency of reporting, environmental factors, and GPS availability. Typically 2 to 3 days should be achievable, however a good practice to get into is to charge the device every night when the pet comes home for dinner. If the pet is fortunate enough to sleep inside at night, perhaps turn the device off (via the app) to conserve power. A word on GPS tracking; it works best when the device is outside and can see the sky. If the device is inside or under cover, the location will not be as accurate as the device has to decipher the weak GPS signals and will estimate the location which may be out by quite a distance. This could lead to false Geofence alerts.. Tapping the Locate icon on the app will send a command to the device to update and return its location. This may take a couple of minutes for the GPS chip to acquire its location. In the meantime, the location may shift to the last Wi-Fi location obtained, however this will be replaced with a GPS derived location and you will see the pointer on the map move as the device refines its position.
