ISTOK : Project s parameters ISTOK aims To identify priorities for deeper strategic ICT cooperation between Russia and the European Union and to help the European Commission to link FP7 ICT calls to joint European-Russian ICT priorities Duration 21 months : December 2006 September 2008 Work Scope recommendations for EU-Russian ICT-collaboration taxonomy based on ICT FP7 priorities adapted to the Russian R&D sector analyze Russian and European ICT R&D areas, mapping and cross-comparison with European/Russian needs detection of the most relevant ICT thematics for the further EU-RU ICT co-operation dialogue with broad communities both in Russia and in the European Union Dessimination Final Result organizing 5 awareness raising brokerage actions in Europe and Russia on a large and medium scale (conferences, seminars, workshops, internet open forums) to booster the joint research initiatives for FP7 8 areas in ICT R&D recommended to the European Union as strategic priorities for Russian-European collaboration of FP Slide 3

ISTOK s Competence Platform Competence Platform (CP) is a virtual area where the consortium collects, structures and makes accessible information during the complete duration of ISTOK.Ru CP is an ANSWER on the following QUESTIONS : What competences exist in RU/EU excellence ICT centers? Who is the suitable contact person for a specific technology? CP TOOLS Database of 2000 ICT entries How can I express my opinion on the ISTOK issues? e-forums Questionnaire How can I get information on the project results, collaboration opportunities? Project benefits for EU-RU ICT community quantitative and qualitative advantages for the Russian and European ICT community access to the competence platform providing all available information relevant to the EU-RU potential cooperation in the ICT domain, as well as to the database with at least 2.000 key ICT contacts from Europe and Russia, participation in the open consultation campaign (via 10 e-forum) in order to contribute in a direct way to the definition of the EU-RU cooperation strategy within FP7, better understanding and a larger involvement in the FP7 programme (access to know-how, complementary competences, scientific exchanges, funding), participation in the 5 large and medium scale events allows partners from different countries and with different ICT backgrounds to meet and work together, identification of potential partners in order to prepare joint collaboration proposals for the FP7 calls Slide 8

Russian Technology Transfer Network consortium member Russian Technology Transfer Network (RTTN) - an association of more than 50 Russian Innovation Centres, specialized in technology transfer area. RTTN is an innovation infrastructure tool, aimed at effective dissemination of technological information and partner search for implementation of innovation projects. Broad international collaboration 2 bilateral networks RFR (France), BRIN (UK) RTTN creation is based on the model and methodology of European network of Innovation Relay Centers (IRC) RTTN members provide services for 900 clients (SME, R&D institutes, universities). In 2006 they had carried out more then 250 technological audits and established 27 technological partnerships. Slide 10
