The document also contains information on fixes of the earlier Service Packs. For information about installing, configuring, and using the product, refer to the product documentation. For more technical details about the content of this document, refer to the AskeCopy Knowledge Base. Issues fixed in Service Pack 4 Installation For the Service Pack installation, you have to provide a database administrator (sa) account credentials, when the relevant dialog window pops up. If you are using your own database, provide your relevant credentials. If using the default ShareScan database, click here to learn how to provide the credentials. Admin Console When creating data mappings, ensure that the ShareScan Administration Console language is set to English. Otherwise, the values might not be published. When using Bypass Session Logon (no authentication), user configuration settings are now available. NTWare UserID authentication is now fully supported. Auto form submission now optimized. 3-tier devices are now displayed properly on the Add Device screen. - 1 -

Adding Organization Units when the Admin Console is minimized no longer causes an error message. Device Profiles and Services can now be expanded. You can now add multiple simulators. Manager Moving a device to another Manager no longer causes connector profiles to disappear from the Configure Connectors for Device screen. Offline processing now works properly when using the AutoSynch feature. Document processing now works with offline processing. The Manager is now able to handle multiple existing NICs. Restoring the ShareScan database remotely from another ShareScan installation works, but is not recommended. Deleting Organization Units with unsaved changes no longer causes a database error message to appear. Barcode recognition improved. Glossary files have been separated according to languages. The activity report from Selected Managers now contains the <Manager IP> or < Manager name> information when the Select All option is checked. Connectors Device Calibration can be used to correct Xerox Embedded rotation issues. The Path label and actual path are now correctly aligned on the Navigation form. Activity Tracking now displays the authenticated user when Session Logon is on. Quick Connect edocs SMTP sending is optimized. When using the Advanced Filenaming feature, including separators in the filename no longer causes issues. Clarified RM-related storage issues. Personal profile defaults are now displayed properly when using edocs DM6. Exchange connectors The Search feature using the EWS protocol is now fully optimized. Leaving the Attach Cover Page checkbox unchecked no longer causes display issues on the Send form. Using the MAPI protocol with Login as authentication no longer causes issues for Exchange 2010 users. The MAPI Server process is re-created and re-connected by the connector if the process times out. - 2 -

Fax via Print The Notification Service now records the authenticated username. Sending notification when Activity Tracking is used now works properly. SMTP connectors The Search field of the Send form is no longer enabled when the IAB is disabled. SMTP via LDAP no longer prompts for credentials when Session Logon is enabled. Documentum Having different login domains with the LDAP source type and on the Documentum server no longer causes error messages. The Express Wizard button is now correctly displayed. Rightfax Resetting the profile now resets the Billing Codes Enabled flag. Scan to Desktop Parsing the home directory value during runtime is optimized when using Novell Netware home directories. Specifying a Subfolder when the connector is configured to use home directories no longer results in an error message when authenticating for the first time. Searching on DNs now works optimally. Selecting Novell when using Session Logon no longer causes a thread exception. Scan to File Using IP address instead of server name for WebDAV destinations no longer causes errors during runtime. SharePoint Performance and display-related fixes. The port number of My Site locations can be specified differently from the destination URL in Admin Console. ScanStation If the Use Lock File feature of the Send to ecopy service is enabled, ensure that all ScanStation devices have a separate watch folder. Starting ScanStation after installation no longer causes a configuration error message to appear. Pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL in Kiosk mode logs you off. Installing touchscreen drivers no longers causes the Windows 7 soft keyboard to be enabled automatically. Automatic brightness control is now optimized. Switching domains after entering an incorrect username or password no longer causes the ScanStation client to crash. - 3 -

Using double-sided book setting when scanning from the platen no longer causes an error message. Performing grayscale or full color scanning no longer results in error messages on DR scanners. Client-specific fixes Display and layout improvement for all clients. Cancelling scan jobs after sending them to the device no longer causes ShareScan issues. Improved Preview-related controls and display. Speed increased for HP Embedded devices using HTTPS. Fixed UI issues caused by changing the file type on HP devices. Zooming on HP devices is now optimized. Timeout issues fixed with HP devices. Fixed output orientation and rotation issues with HP devices. Scanning on HP devices after restarting the ShareScan Manager no longer requires a device restart. Improved HP integration with Equitrac Cost Recovery system. Rotation improvements for Konica Minolta devices. Cost Recovery service interworking improved with Xerox devices. Session Logon interworking with Xerox Secure Access has been optimized. Known limitations in Service Pack 4 Manager When using Session Logon as a NetWare user, Equitrac Office interworking is not fully optimized. Novell interworking with Session Logon is not fully optimized. The "Remember" feature of Subfolder Routing is not supported. Client-specific limitations The list of client-specific limitations is available here. Issues fixed in Service Pack 3 Admin Console Optimized automatic Offline Processing switchover. Exporting the tracing log from remotely managed ShareScan managers no longer throws an exception error Improved Advanced File Naming feature. Reports display correctly when multiple devices are configured. Device discovery via SNMP improved. - 4 -

Manager Using Japanese or Korean OCR no longer causes issues with the final document. Fixed connection issues between MFP and ShareScan Manager for large (500+ pages) jobs. Session Logon interworking with NTWare improved. Cost Recovery Emulator no longer crashes when trying to connect to a device after changing the Key Path. Improved performance for cross-domain and remote management tasks. Improved performance of the AutoSync feature. Connectors Localized strings are now displayed fully on the connector admin UIs. Device Calibration saves User RotationAngles.xml correctly if multiple model names are used. Quick Connect edocs.csv format is optimized for index files. Reaction and performance times are improved. Timeout-related fixes. Fixed minor response issues with large-sized scan jobs. Minor connection issues fixed for various Forms. Fixed layout and visibility issues for various fields and screens. Minor search-related improvements. Creating a server certificate on Windows Server 2008 R2 is now fully supported. Device Calibration is optimized to work with the Konica Minolta client. Modifying SSL settings during runtime no longer causes connection issues. Improved interworking with Equitrac. Interworking with Xerox Secure Access is optimized. System resource usage is optimized. Minor improvements to the scanning process for optimized reliability. - 6 -

HTTPS support is optimized. Fixed layout and visibility issues for various fields and screens. Minor improvements to the scanning process to enhance stability and speed. Fixed issues with page rotation settings. Improved minor search-related issues. Fixed connection issue for deleting and re-adding HP Adapter in the ShareScan Administration Console. Improved Equitrac integration. SEF Book type double-sided scanning has the correct format. Issues fixed in Service Pack 2 Client-specific fixes ScanFront 300 support added. Admin Console Reacquiring the device no longer leaves the yellow triangle icon displayed. The Simulator button is properly displayed when using remote management. Bates format settings no longer change when selecting a different connector profile from the New Destination drop-down list. Time settings in Bates Numbering no longer cause issues with ShareScan. Document Tracking fully supported for systems using Microsoft Server 2008 R2. Document Tracking now works seamlessly with Advanced File Naming set to On. Manager Bates stamp is now properly displayed on the Preview pages (if set). Document setting changes are kept when redirecting the document between connectors. Scanned files are no longer left in the ShareScan manager. Connectors Localized strings are now displayed fully on the connector admin UIs. Quick Connect edocs Subfolder navigation no longer has issues after an access denied message. FTP folder navigation path is now fully supported. Cost Recovery Data Publishing is now fully supported. Retention days filter is now fully supported. Sorting document type values no longer displays an error if some values are equal. - 7 -

Fax via Exchange Not configuring the fax format no longer displays a runtime error message. Open Text Content Server Projects are properly displayed on the connector configuration screen. SMTP connectors Search on the To field of the Send form is now fully supported. Session Logon no longer throws an exception. Lotus Notes connectors Splitting to file size now fully supported. Send port can no longer be modified and saved if Send from personal account is turned off. Scan to Desktop Authentication after moving user profile from in-domain ShareScan to out-of-domain ShareScan is now supported. SharePoint Handling of the Date/Time field is now more user-friendly. Worksite Document Tracking is now fully supported. ScanStation Long Edge First (LEF) scans with auto paper size are no longer cropped to Short Edge First (SEF). Canceling a double-sided scan job while in progress no longer causes a crash. The authentication fields are no longer available if you use Login As as the login type. ListBox OnSelect Callback is now works properly when selecting an already selected item. Auto Color Detection can now be selected. Canon ScanFront Web Administration When you open the Web administration page in Internet Explorer on a Windows Server 2008 system, there may be some flickering. The solution is to close the browser window, open the Administration console, close the Administration console, and then open the browser again. General scanning issues ShareScan does not support the 600 dots per inch (dpi) setting with color and grayscale scanning when Mixed Originals is the paper size. Settings will automatically revert to the closest supported combination right before scanning. ShareScan does not support the 600 dpi setting with color and double-sided scanning when Legal and A4 are the paper sizes. Settings will automatically revert to the closest supported combination right before scanning. - 8 -

Client Scanned documents include a line at the bottom of the page. This is a known ScanFront device issue. Nuance recommends that you use the Search while typing (auto-completion) option when entering user names for authentication or when specifying e-mail recipients. To use this option, select the user name from the list that appears after you enter one or more characters. If the Search while typing option is not enabled in the Administration console, type one or more characters, press the Search button, and then select the user name from the list. If you do not follow this recommendation, the Client may return an error indicating that the user name or ID is invalid or missing. If the Search while typing option (auto-completion) stops functioning within a field, navigate to another field on the screen (using the Tab key or by touching the field) and then navigate back to the field where the option stopped functioning. When you add user names to an existing list, add the names to the end of the list to prevent this problem from occurring. You may occasionally have to press a Client button more than once on the touch screen. Keyboards Nuance does not recommend that you use a hard keyboard and a soft keyboard simultaneously on a device. The product was not designed to support this type of use. Do not use the hard keyboard when you are working in a soft keyboard screen on a device. ShareScan does not automatically put the cursor in an input field. Therefore, to enter data in a field, to select options, or to navigate among fields, you must select the field using a mouse or the touch panel. When you use the soft keyboard, some fields will not scroll automatically as you enter data in them. This occurs when you use the recipient and notes fields in the mail connectors. To see all the text, you may need to use the scroll bars. Status message updates on forms can cause user to lose keystrokes. Optimal performance is not guaranteed when using the hard keyboard. Custom ports If a custom port is specified when the device is added to the Manager, the administrator has to modify the C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\conf\server.xml file, change the default port number, and then restart Tomcat. Fingerprint scanner In order to use fingerprint authentication, you must enable and configure Identification Services and Session Logon in the Administration Console. Whenever you modify Activity Tracking for a device, from the Devices node in the Administration Console, you must restart the Services Manager. When you are using the fingerprint scanner, you must set the Session Logon Search On field to Account Name. When you are using the fingerprint scanner, ShareScan does not support the ID Services Encryption option. - 9 -

To make sure that the fingerprint scanner recognizes a fingerprint, you move your finger slowly over it. Issues fixed in Service Pack 1 Server-side The Device Calibration now supports all clients. The ecopy Cost Recovery Emulator no longer crashes when viewing the Emulator XML file. Admin Console Device or connector profile selections no longer become corrupted randomly. Resource usage of the Tracing is now optimized. Modifying a connector profile no longer causes the other profiles assigned to a device group to vanish. Database issues when adding devices to a device group are fixed. User Configuration without Session Logon now returns the correct warning message. The Soft Keyboard and Refresh functions of the Admin Console are fully supported and optimized. CAC and Cost Recovery are now available for the Simulator as well. The Add Device form no longer duplicates entries and refreshes the client version. Database issues Creating device groups no longer causes database errors. The ShareScan Manager and the SQL database can now reside in different domains. Licensing Users are able to import multiple licenses at the same time. License information is no longer lost when installing updates. Manager User configuration across managers is now fully supported when using AutoSynch. Resource management of the Identification is now fully optimized. Moving devices between Managers is now fully optimized and supported. The Restrict Personalization in User Configuration no longer leads to a database error. Logout-login issues of NTWare fixed. The restarting process of the Manager Service now displays a progress indication. Turning CAC on now displays a warning message. Barcode page removal is now fully supported and optimized. Resource management of Tracing is now optimized, and trace files are fully exportable. Upload of template pages in Full Page templates is now fully supported. - 10 -

Connectors Localized strings are now displayed fully on the connector admin UIs. Quick Connect The index file format no longer causes issues. Not delivering the expected data publishing value no longer causes error messages. Documentum edocs Documentum profile can be edited when the Documentum server is turned off. Images are no longer cropped in the Express Wizard of the connector. Cost Recovery Data Publishing is now fully supported. Exchange connectors Exchange profiles are no longer lost when installing SP1. Configuring MAPI/MAPI protocol for Exchange Mail and Fax connectors To configure MAPI/MAPI protocol for Exchange connectors, the service account (the Domain/Username/Password combination) is expecting to have a configured default Outlook profile. Otherwise you cannot configure the connector due to an error message in the Administration Console. To create an Outlook profile, perform the following configuration steps. 1. Log on to the ShareScan server using credentials of the service account intended for using with the Exchange connectors 2. Run Outlook and create the default profile of the logged on user (perform the regular tasks Outlook does at the first launch for the logged on user account) 3. Close Outlook and log off the service account. The service account is now ready, and can be used for configuring the connectors. 4. Check if you need to reconfigure your existing profiles using MAPI protocol. 5. This change does not effect LDAP/MAPI configurations. Exchange 2010 CAS support for MAPI protocol To support Exchange 2010 environments that have a dedicated Client Access Server (CAS) separate from the Mailbox Server, a feature was introduced to allow administrators to specify the name of the CAS. Lotus Notes connector Splitting to file size now fully supported. Scan to Desktop Using the Return error file naming setting no longer overwrites the scanned file. Scan to Printer The Save button of the profile now works properly. SharePoint Document Tracking is now fully supported. Storing a document to a link is now completely supported. AutoIndex of SharePoint now fully supported. Creating a default value for the Date/Time field is now supported. WorkSite Data publishing via Business Automation is now fully supported Extenders Clients Highlight and Redact no longer causes issues when saving in SharePoint. Forms Processing Extender is now properly displayed on the Services tab. HP Embedded Timeout issues of the Preview form solved. Scanner settings are now properly applied to the devices. When scanning a document as B&W, the resulting file keeps the set resolution, and does not change to 300 DPI. Keyboard is no longer partly obscured by the user name list. Default paper size is changed from A4 to Letter. - 12 -

Date Calendar issues fixed. Page ranges display properly on the Preview form. Canon MEAP Ricoh Fixed output paper size issues when using Auto A4. Going into Paused state no longer makes restarting the client impossible. ScanStation Using background images no longer causes issues with the ScanStation client list boxes. Konica Minolta Xerox Pressing the ShareScan button on the MFP before ShareScan server startup no longer necessitates restarting Tomcat to connect to that MFP. Adding a new device to an existing group is now fully supported. Using Mode: Halftone and Text Enhance no longer cause the device to freeze. Changing the ShareScan-MFP communication port no longer causes functionality loss. Icons are displayed properly when other applications are also installed. Using the Clear all button to exit after a No paper in ADF message no longer causes the next scan job to hang. Small-panel devices also display progress to avoid the impression of nothing happening. Landscape scan rotation issue fixed. 50+ page scannings in color or grayscale no longer cause issues.
