Class summary / Learning Objectives If you can model it, you can schedule it. Using schedules in Revit is a powerful way of viewing the Information in your BIM projects. Schedules in Revit have improved over the past couple of releases. This session will explore the new features in schedules as well as discuss some of the lesser known parts of creating schedules like Creating Embedded Schedules, using Conditional Formatting in schedules, or understanding Key Schedules. We will also dive into Shared, Project and Global Parameters and how to use these in calculated formulas. At the end of this class, you will be able to: Work with Parameters in Schedules Know When and Where to use Key Schedules Create Embedded Schedules Use Tips and Tricks with Schedules
Agenda Exercise 1 Adding Images to Schedules Using Conditional Formatting in Schedules Populating all Cells in a Schedule Creating a Combined Parameter Working with Shared Parameters Exercise 2 Working with Global Parameters Creating an Embedded Schedules Using Special Characters in Schedules Exercise 3 Creating a Schedule Key Schedule Creating a Note Block Schedule
Using Images In Schedules
Using Images In Schedules Use images that are imported into the model. Images appear when schedule is placed on sheet. System Families have Type Image and Image

Filling All Cells
Filling All Cells Modifies all items in a schedule Sort by parameter to be modified Uncheck Itemize every instance Reapply View Template

Combine Parameters
Ability to add Separators Combine Parameters Prefix or Suffix Individual parameters can be removed To modify the Units, individual parameters must be used Can hide individual parameters

Shared Parameters
Shared Vs. Family Vs. Project Parameters Shared Parameters External Text File Have one master shared parameter file for the entire office Take advantage of Groups to organize parameters Used in Families and in Project Parameters

Global Parameters
Global Parameters Are specific to a single project. Are not assigned to categories. Global Parameters can be: Simple Values Derived from equations Values taken from other global parameters

Learning Objectives Working with Parameters in Schedules When and Where to use Key Schedules Creating Embedded Schedules Conclusion Schedules are a vital part of documentation. Parameters are needed on a project level and an office wide level. Custom parameters and Calculated Value parameters are needed. Schedules should be used throughout the project to assist in meeting design requirements. Tips and Tricks with Schedules
