ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY LIGHTED ENCLOSURES The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method when installing Kronos Lighted Enclosures. INSTALLATION STEPS Step 1: Separate the back and front enclosures. 1 ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY LIGHTED ENCLOSURES 3
Step 2: Fasten the selected bracket (15 or 0 degree tilt) onto the back enclosure. The 15 degrees tilt bracket is shown here for reference. ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY LIGHTED ENCLOSURES Step 3: Plug Apple lightning cable into the lightning socket on PCB. a. Put the bracket over the back enclosure as shown to line up the holes. Then Ziptie the Apple lightning cable onto the enclosure. b. Fasten the provided M6 flat head screws from the other side using a 4 mm Allen wrench. 4 5
ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY LIGHTED ENCLOSURES Step 4: Place ipad flat into the front enclosure in correct direction, as the picture shows below. The switch/camera should be in alignment with the hole on the enclosure. Note: *** Add downgrade foams provided to support the ipad if version 1-3 of ipad mini is used. ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY LIGHTED ENCLOSURES Step 5: After lining up the top edge of both halves, plug the Kronos lightning cable into the lightning socket and the audio jack into the ipad. Before closing the enclosure, ensure the ipad is pointing in the correct direction. Step 6: Fasten the provided M3 flat head screws using a No.2 Phillips screwdriver. Note: *** Make sure the LED light is not pinched. This can be avoided by gently pressing on it. Note: *** Power up the ipad using the home button if it is in sleep mode. The power button can be accessed via a paper clip using the method shown below. Verify that the ipad is charging. If not ensure the PoE switch has been turned on for this particular location. 8 9
Step 7: Plug the RJ45 connector from the power source in the socket on Kronos lighted enclosure. Choose one of the three mounting options: rear-offset mount, side mount and surface mount, then follow the specific guide for the chosen mounting option. 2 ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY SLIM ENCLOSURE 10
ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY SLIM ENCLOSURE The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method when installing Kronos Slim Enclosures. INSTALLATION STEPS Step 1: Install appropriate bracket (0 or 15 degrees) to the slim enclosure. The guide only shows 15-degree bracket. Insert the M6 flat head screws provided into the threaded holes using a 4 mm Allen wrench. Step 2: Plug in the Lightning cable into the socket on the Slim Enclosure. Plug the other end of the cable into the USB port in the PoE-to-USB unit. Put the spacers on the right position for installing the PoE unit. Note: ***For Wired-Ethernet option, refer the installation steps for slim enclosure in section 3. 12 13
ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY SLIM ENCLOSURE Step 3: Install the PoE unit onto the Slim Enclosure using the 2 supplied M3 screws and spacers. Note: *** Plug in the RJ45 connector whenever the whole assembly is ready to go on the wall Step 4: Peel off the liner of 3M VHB tape. Step 5: Place the ipad onto the enclosure and plug the flat lightning cable into the ipad. Note: *** For Wired-Ethernet option, refer the installation steps for slim enclosure in section 3. Slide the ipad in place until the flat Lightning cable slide in its cutout and the ipad lays flat into the enclosure. 14 15
ENCLOSURE AND DONGLE ASSEMBLY SLIM ENCLOSURE Step 6: Fasten the provided M3 set-screw using a 1.5 mm Allen wrench. Note*** the set-screw head should stop flush with the outside surface of the enclosure. Moving the set-screw all the way in would result in damage to the ipad. Step 7: Plug the RJ45 connector from the power source in the socket on Kronos lighted enclosure. Choose one of the three mounting options: rear-offset mount, side mount and surface mount, then follow the specific guide for the chosen mounting option. Note: Power up the ipad using the home button if it is in sleep mode. The power button can be accessed via a paper clip using the method shown below. Verify that the ipad is charging. If not ensure the PoE switch has been turned on for this particular location. 16 17
ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY WIRED-ETHERNET DONGLE The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method when installing Kronos Wired-Ethernet Dongle for both Lighted and Slim Enclosures. INSTALLATION STEPS LIGHTED ENCLOSURE 1. Start with all the following parts prepared in which are included in Kronos Enclosures package: a. Enclosure with appropriate bracket (Lighted with 15 degrees shown) b. Kronos wired-ethernet dongle c. ipad USB to Lightning cable A 3 ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY WIRED-ETHERNET DONGLE C B 19
ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY WIRED-ETHERNET DONGLE 2. Plug the ipad lightning cable into the socket on Kronos WiredEthernet dongle (1A). Plug the lightning cable of Kronos WiredEthernet dongle into the socket on the Lighted Enclosure (1B). Plug the USB end of ipad cable into the USB port in the circuit board (1C). 3. Put the connected parts in available space of the lighted enclosure, as shown below. Then the RJ-45 connector from the dongle into the Kronos RJ-45 socket (2). 1B 2 4. Kronos Lighted Enclosure is ready to go, please follow section 4 to 7 for mounting guide ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY WIRED-ETHERNET DONGLE 2. Plug the camera adapter s lightning cable into the female side on the enclosure. Note: *** For the customers with premium service, the bracket and the Wired-Ethernet dongle are pre-installed. Note: *** picture only shown 0 degree mounting bracket, but 15 degree mounting bracket is also applicable. SLIM ENCLOSURE 1. ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY WIRED-ETHERNET DONGLE 4. Plug in Wired-Ethernet dongle for either 15-degree mounting option or 0-degree mounting option: 4A. Data output of th Wired- Ethernet power-data splitter goes into the USB-Ethernet adapter. 4B. Power output of the Wired-Ethernet power-data-splitter goes into the PCB board Ethernet female plug. For 0 Degree Mounting option, the spacing will be tighter than 15 degree, tilt the Wired-Ethernet power-data splitter as shown in the picture to perform a easier mounting installation. REAR-OFFSET The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method for rear-offset mounting options suitable for every version of Kronos enclosure. Follow this guide when fastening Kronos enclosures to aluminum extrusions such as in door frame/mullion. 4 REAR-OFFSET 27
REAR-OFFSET INSTALLATION STEPS Step 1: a. Download and print the Drill Guide from www.magtarget.com/ Guide that correspond to the bracket purchased. Ensure the drill guide template is printed at full scale using the Actual Size option in Acrobat Reader*** b. Temporarily hold the Drill Guide on the desired location and height. Check local regulation to see if any rules apply to the height of the enclosure. In the USA the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) asks for a maximum reach height of 48 inches*** Step 2: a. Drill pilot holes with a small diameter drill bit per the Drill Guide. b. Drill full size holes as per Drill Guide. c. Install M6 rivet nuts. (sold separately) Step 3: Bolt the bracket tightly into place using M6 screws. 28 29
REAR-OFFSET Step 4: If not already run through the mullion, run the PoE network cable. As shown on the picture below. Install the cover piece at the same time. Step 5: To get ready to install the Kronos enclosure, one or two of the M3 screw can be screwed into the top edge of the bracket for making one-person installation easier. 30 31
REAR-OFFSET Step 6: a. Plug in the PoE cable into the port in the back of the enclosure. b. Slide ipad enclosure assembly onto the bracket (enclosure not shown for clarity) c. Ensure the ipad is receiving power. If not check if the PoE port is activated. d. Insert the remaining M3 fasteners to secure the enclosure in place. This complete the installation of the MagTarget Kronos enclosure (rear-offset). Lighted Kronos Enclosure is shown here, but other types of enclosures can be installed using the same methods. 32 33
SIDE-MOUNT The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method for side mounting options suitable for every version of Kronos enclosure. SURFACE MOUNT The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method for the Kronos Surface Mount. 6 SURFACE MOUNT 43
SURFACE MOUNT INSTALLATION STEPS Step 1: Temporarily hold the Surface Mount at the desired location and height, and mark the selected holes. ***Check local regulation to see if any rules apply to the height of the enclosure. In the USA the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) asks for a maximum reach height of 48 inches*** The inner holes of the Surface Mount highlighted in green below are spaced to fit standard electrical outlet boxes used in North America. For a secure installation we recommend using additional fasteners in the additional holes provided. 44 45
SURFACE MOUNT Step 2: Drill hole into mounting surface and install the bracket. Make sure to use fasteners which correspond with the type of mounting surface (use screw anchors if needed). Route the PoE cable through the center of the bracket and terminate cable at the same time. Step 4: a. Plug in the PoE cable into the port in the back of the enclosure. b. Slide ipad enclosure assembly onto the bracket (enclosure not shown for clarity). c. Ensure the ipad is receiving power. If not check if the PoE port is activated. d. Insert the remaining M3 fasteners to secure the enclosure in place. Step 3: To get ready to install the Kronos enclosure, one or two of the M3 screw can be screwed into the top edge of the bracket for making one-person installation easier. 46 47

GLASS MOUNT The instructions below highlight our recommended installation method when mounting the Kronos back bracket 273-0020 on the glasses. Step 3: Place the bracket onto the glass, and add sticker to the other side of the glass inside the office for covering. INSTALLATION STEPS Step 1: Use Alcohol Pad provided in the kit to wipe the glass as well as the back of the bracket before putting the VHB tapes on. Step 2: Add four pieces 3M VHB tapes onto the right places of the bracket. 50 51
