To protect the luminaire and the installation from 180V onwards the output power will be limited. Xitanium FP drivers Mains guard works even down to 90 Volt, output power will be limited down to 10%. (see graph) Mains guard feature will take care the mains current will never exceed 130% of the nominal current at 230V. Benefits for customers Light will remain on even at extreme low mains voltage (no dark spot) Luminaire is fully protected against under voltage The max input current will be limited to max 130% and therefore prevents over-current in the installation and tripping of MCB or fuses. Xitanium Xtreme drivers Dynadimmer Dynadimmer overview 1/4 Dynadimmer is an autonomous dimming control developed by Philips that enables simple, pre-programmed customized multistep dimming. Xi FP: up to five configurable steps, incl. light turn-off Xi LP (upgraded): up to five configurable steps, light turn-off not supported Xi LP (earlier/not upgraded): one configurable step, light turn-off not supported During Dynadimmer operation the other dimming interface functionalities will be ignored but override is possible in the following ways: Xi FP - via DALI - as soon as the driver detects a DALI frame it will change over from Dynadimmer mode to DALI mode and remain in DALI mode until the next mains power cycle. Xi FP - via LineSwitch - overrule the Dynadimmer by applying mains voltage to the LineSwitch input ( high input), results in change over to full light output (only). As soon as the LineSwitch input is changed back to low, the Dynadimmer will resume operation. Xi LP SL - via LineSwitch - as above - note Xi LP SL drivers to be phased out. Xi LP S1 - via 1-10V interface by shorting the +/- terminals of 1-10V by a relay or pulling level below 2V by a controller. As soon as contact is opened or interface voltage raised above 3.2V, the Dynadimmer will resume operation. 36 36 Simultaneous use of Dynadimmer and 1-10V dimming is not possible. These are mutually exclusive.

Xitanium Xtreme drivers Dynadimmer Dynadimmer overview 2/4 Time based: starts executing the Dynadimmer profile as soon as power is applied to the driver does not compensate for seasonal changes best suited for applications with fixed power-on/off timing Mid-point/location based: Based on the average power-on time of the previous periods, the driver calculates a reference mid-point for the dimming schedule and uses it as a virtual clock. Relies on a regular power-on time from one night to the next. Typically based on sunset and sunrise and its duration will vary gradually throughout the seasons. Dynadimmer calculates the power-on time average of the 5 last preceding stable nights implying that after first installation, until virtual clock not calculated (3 nights), dimming schedule can not run, thus Dynadimmer will not dim the light output for the first 3 nights. Geographical location within a time zone will create difference in sunset and sunrise. This can effect correctness of the calculated virtual clock. Xitanium Xtreme drivers Dynadimmer Dynadimmer overview 3/4 Dynadimmer attention points Change in power-on time is more than one hour driver checks last 5 nights and if 3 identical on-times are found no re-sync. This prevents disruption of the Dynadimmer dimming behavior due to occasional mains black- and brownouts. Change in power-on time is less than one hour - represent normal operation. Driver will average the last three power-on times to calculate the virtual clock while gradually adapting dimming schedule to the new power-on time. Influence of mains interruption (blackout): If the mains voltage drops to zero for more than one second considers as a new night and will act as if on time changed more than 1 hour (looks for 3 in 5) If the mains voltage drops to zero for less than a second - Dynadimmer dimming cycle remains unaffected. Influence of mains voltage dip (brownout): The driver is robust enough to handle a mains voltage dip down to 25VAC for one minute without disruption of the Dynadimmer timing. Light output will be less or zero for the duration of the mains dip but the dimming schedule will not be affected. 38 38

Xitanium Xtreme drivers Dynadimmer Dynadimmer overview 4/4 Temporary mains power-off (maintenance at night, blackout): If power outage occurs within the first 4 hours of the night then a new night will be calculated on the remaining on-time. Average on-time before the outage will be used as reference thus regular dimming will result. If the power outage takes place after more than four hours and not closer than one hour before the expected end of the night then this deviating on-time will be taken into account to calculate the average power-on time of the five preceding nights. As average for 5 nights is taken it won t affect the dimming duration of the next night. If the outage takes place within one hour before the expected end of the night this will be taken into account as a valid night average power-on time and thus temporarily will affect the dimming behavior. 39 39 Temporary mains power-on (maintenance during the day): If the power-on time is less than four hours then this deviating power-on time will be ignored and the average power-on time before the deviation will be used as reference. No effect on dimming behaviour for next night. If the power-on time is more than four hours and at least one hour less than the average power-on time of the three preceding nights then this deviating power-on time will be taken into account to calculate the average on-time of the five preceding nights. However, it won t affect the dimming duration of the next night.

Xitanium Xtreme drivers Dynadimmer Dynadimmer overview final notes By default the mid position of a time zone will be selected; in most cases this default value will be accurate enough. The midnight shift option is of course not available when the Time based option has been selected. Dynadimmer does not compensate for the 1-hour shift in time due to daylight savings time changes in fall and spring. The Dynadimmer feature does not support 24h applications (e.g. tunnels, warehouses). A power off/on cycle is required every 24 hours. Dynadimmer operation is not supported when the driver is operated on a DC grid. 40 40
