1 About SAP Jam application launcher For most content-types that you have uploaded or work with in SAP Jam (e.g., Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, videos, images, PDFs), you can now easily open, edit and synchronize your changes from their respective desktop applications directly into SAP Jam. To receive this client application, please submit a request to the SAP Jam Support team. Note Upgrades are now available for the Application Launcher, File Sync client, SAP Jam activity hub, and SAP Jam add-in for Microsoft Outlook integration desktop clients. About SAP Jam application launcher P U BL IC 3

2 System requirements The following operating systems and internet browsers are supported with the SAP Jam Application Launcher. Operating Systems Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 Microsoft Windows 8 Microsoft Windows 8.1 Microsoft Windows 10 Internet Browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 11 and later) Microsoft Edge Google Chrome Mozilla Firefox Microsoft Office Microsoft Office 2010 SP1 Microsoft Office 2013 SP1 (32 bit) 4 P U B L I C System requirements

3 Installation notes Administrators should review the following notes before proceeding with installation. 1. The installers will prompt users to install.net Framework 4.7 if they are not already running.net Framework 4.7 or above. Administrators who push the MSI installers out to their users' desktops can add the.net 4.7 redistributable to install with their deployments. 2. On Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012, the.net Framework 4.7 installation will prompt users to update their d3dcompiler.dll: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/ 4020302/the-net-framework-4-7-installation-is-blocked-on-windows-7-windows-ser. 3. (Microsoft Outlook add-in and SAP Jam App Launcher only): On Microsoft Windows 7, due to CUB-43112, "Error while installing SAP Jam outlook add in", installation requires running the win7_schannel_regkeys.reg file to set the registry keys, and to enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2. 4. When using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to push the installers to user desktops: For the Microsoft Outlook add-in, SAP Jam File Sync client, SAP Jam App Launcher, and Microsoft Office Integration, you must install on a per-user basis. You cannot install under the system account. For SAP Jam activity hub, the installer requires administrator privileges. What happens when the user does NOT have.net Framework 4.7 installed? 1. The user is first prompted to install.net Framework 4.7. 2. When the user clicks Yes, they are redirected to https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnetframework-runtime/net472?utm_source=getdotnet&utm_medium=referral to install the latest.net Framework. In this case, it is 4.7.2. Installation notes P U BL IC 5

4 Installation and first time use You can install and use the SAP Jam application launcher once you have the correct configuration parameters (e.g., company domain, proxy settings) from your company administrator. 5 Edit documents You can edit documents within their default desktop applications and then save them directly to SAP Jam by using the SAP Jam application launcher. To open and edit a document with the SAP Jam application launcher 1. In SAP Jam, select the document that you wish to edit; it will open in the single item view. 2. Click Edit. 3. On the launch application message window, read the message, and click Launch Application if you want to allow the web browser to open the application launcher. 4. The document opens in the applicable Microsoft Office desktop application. For example, if you are working on a Microsoft Word document, then when the application launcher opens the document, it will open it in Microsoft Word. Make your changes as necessary. 5. On the right side margin, with the SAP Jam add-in for Microsoft Office (requires separate installation), the feed updates for the document will display. 6. When you are finished your edits, click the Save button at the top of the window. Your changes will be automatically saved back to the document in SAP Jam. The document version will increment by 1 each time you save the document. Note If someone else is working on the same document (e.g., the document is checked out to another user) and they have updated the file, you will see the following message near the desktop tray icon. You can choose to upload your changes, download the version that was updated and then decide whether to include your changes and save it again, or dismiss the message. Edit documents P U B L I C 9
