HOW TO APPLY FOR A JOB AT NIC Returning applicants only This guide is only for those applicants who have applied to this system in the past and who have an applicant account already set up. Questions about specific jobs or other details about North Idaho College s process should be directed to Human Resources at 208-676-7211. We recommend you do not try to leave the applicaiton process before it is submitted. It will be easier for you if you have all required application materials ready to upload before you start the application process. This website works best with webbrowsers Fire Fox or Chrome, NOT Internet Explorer. If you cannot remember your password, use the Forgot your password? link at the top of the login page. If you do not use that link and type in another password it will create a duplicate profile and you will not be able to see your previous applications.
FIND THE JOB YOU ARE INTERESTED IN: View our current openings by clicking the Search Current Openings link found on the Employment Listing page. CHOOSE THE JOB: Click the job title of the position you would like to view. REVIEW THE INFORMATION IN THE ANNOUNCEMENT. Information includes the close date, pay information, the job description and qualifications, as well as required application materials. It will be helpful to have either this screen-shot guide handy or to print out the text version of the application instructions found via the Application Instructions link
CHOOSE TO APPLY: At the bottom of the job announcement page for the job you are interested in, find the Apply box (it will be at the bottom of the job announcement page). Choose the button that says Returning Applicant" to apply using your existing application profile (this tells the system you already have a resume on file). If you have not ever applied to our system before, you need to reference the New Applicant Instructions document, not this document.
When you have your application materials ready to upload, accept the terms displayed regarding completion of your application. You will be prompted to log in using the account login information you originally setup with your previous application. Enter your e-mail address and password and click Check Records.
Once logged in, you will see a list of positions (aka profiles) you have previously applied for at NIC. Choose one of these profiles to submit by clicking Submit this Profile link next to that job.
After choosing the profile to submit, you will only be asked to answer any questions that apply to the new position for which you are applying. Answer all required questions (question shown is just a sample) and click the Submit button
Once you submit your answers to those questions, you will get a confirmation page indicating you successfully completed your submission. NOTE: If there are no questions to be answered, you will see a page confirming your submission Upon submittal, the rest of your profile (contact information, previously uploaded documents, etc.) will be pulled in from your previous profile.
In order to complete your application process, you will need to upload your letter of interest for this new position, as well as any additional required documents, as listed in the Required Application Materials section of the job announcement. To do this, you will need to choose Modify Your Application from the right side menu of the Employment Listing page. You will then be prompted to enter your login credentials. Once entered, click Check Records.
Once logged in, you will see a list of the positions you have applied for you should now see the new position listed. Choose the View resume/cv link next to the position title that you want to add your documents to (this would be position you JUST applied to). This will take you to your profile for this position.
A pop-up box will open to Step 1 of your application profile. Scroll down to Step 5: Profile Attachments. This is where you will upload your additional required application materials, such as your letter of interest. You should already see your uploaded resume file listed. You may see additional document that were associated with a previous position. It is your responsibility to remove any documents that you do not want associated with this new position. To delete a document, click the red icon to the left of the file name. Do not delete your resume file unless you intend to replace it with a new resume.
To upload new documents to your attachment section, choose the Upload File button found in Step 5.
You will get a pop-up box that will allow you to browse for an upload your new documents. To upload a file, click the Choose File button.
You will be given the chance to browse to the location of your file on your computer. Find your file, select it and then click Open.
You will see the file has been added to the pop-up box as a potential upload. You can add another file for upload by clicking the Choose File button again. When you are ready to add the files to your application, click the Upload button.
After you click the Upload button, you will see that the file has been added to the Step 5 list in the background. To close the Upload pop-up window, click the X in the upper right corner of the box.
Once you have made your changes to Step 5: Profile Attachments, scroll to the bottom and click Save resume/cv button. NOTE: There are five spots to upload documents but not all will be used. Check the job announcement for a list of which documents are required. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The pop-up box will refresh and take you back to the top of the profile (Step 1; Contact Information) To logout directly from the popup box, you can choose the Logout link. Otherwise you can chose the Close link to get back t your main account page.
From your main account page, you can review other information, or you can choose to logout.
